UX User Research Interview Questions Tip: Specific Questions

    As a UX designer or UX researcher, asking specific interview questions over general ones will usually give you better insights. When conducting user interviews, with the goal of understanding exactly how a user does something, aim to ask for detailed examples.
    In this short, I go over two examples. One is general, the other being specific. Let me know which of these ways would be more efficient for UX designers and UX research.

    imo "how you reset a password might" reveal the user's mental model and the "specific one" might be their last experience or might be general.

    Questionnaire should be easy to understand as well to user whom you taking interviews so you get answers exactly you expect

    yeah BUTTT it can take a while before you get choosen. hundreds of folks apply too. you can go a long time before you actually get pick.

    Where is the place ux designers find people to answers their questionnaire? I am converting into ux and I have many questions. how many answers is enough

      It depends on where you’re working. Ideally, you’re at a project/company that has a solid user testing culture. Which is basically a pool of users that are product users that you can frequently test with. If not, they could have access to sites like usertesting.com that has a pool of users you as a designer can test with. If you’re just starting out, I would recommend doing rapid user testing and start off by asking friends, family or other people close to you for smaller projects where you don’t have the same resources as a bigger company.
      And regarding the number of questions, there’s no set number you should stick with. But rather try to keep the time it takes to finish the questionnaire fairly short. Ideally you’d like to keep it between 5-10 minutes tops.
