I just noticed on my 2000 Maxima, there is a LOCK feature behind the seat that was locked. You can unlock it reaching from the trunk side. You can now pull the latch on top of the seat. Duh! Although your video wasn't relative to my situation, it did help me look closer how the lock works, then I discovered the LOCK slider switch behind the seat. Thanks!
Since you have the only searchable video via Google about Audi back seats, Can you make a video on how to unlatch that middle part with the button in between the left rear headrest and the middle headrest? I closed it last week after putting a couple of snowboards through it and everything was just fine. Threw my shoes back there a little while ago and now I have to fold down that whole section of the seat to access the trunk from the back seat. PLEASE HELP Thank you!
I have a 2013 Lincoln MKZ and the rear double seat is stuck in the flat position. We tried this tip to no avail. Idk why it didn't work. Totally frustrating.
On every folding seat there's a catch mechanism so once you find a way to trip the catch itself that will open it up. Also works on entry doors if you can trip the catch that's the secret, hope you get it open!
I need to get my 2nd row seat unstuck so it'll fold down! It's an '05 GMC YUKON, 40/60 bench seat. The 40 has no issues folding down but the 60 does. I don't see anything broken; just dirty. It's really starting to irritate the crap out of me!
Take a look at the 40 side to see how the catch works, every seat has some type of catch mechanism - the car catches are similar to the ones on an entry door, they're just shaped differently. Sometimes the catch release is tough to see, they all have a release it's just getting to it
the technique will work with most latches, the reason it doesn't work is the activator isn't moving the release enough, so you can activate the release manually - hope you get your seat unlatched :)
if the latch lever itself is broken it will be harder to unlatch though you should have more room to get at it in the SRX, sometimes you can trigger them without the latch lever, sometimes you have to do more work taking things apart or finagling the mechanism. Keep trying, every latch can be opened!
Awesome tip. Fixed my problem of 4 months👍

the best way is to snake something to trip the catch, my release on that side is completely broken
I have a 99 4door Tahoe. I can't pull my seat up. The latch came off. Help please

My rear seat of my ML 55 is stuck folded down. When i try lifting it, the seat belt is in locked, and doesnt extend . How do i release the seatbelt?
The seatbelt is connected to itself or one side is stuck in the seat?
Can't see enough of the car and too jiggly. Not evident what part of the seat he is working on.
I am confused by this too. Thought I was the only one by the other comments!
This will not solve the problem on my Saab 93 soft top as you can’t get anywhere near the catch .😢
So close you don't know where location in the car. Still don't know where the lock is.
What vehicle?????
Same for dodge journey?

You should be able to use the same technique even if the locking mechanism is slightly different.
I am having problems with my Dodge Journey to did it work on yours

Does anyone know how to unlock a 2011 SRX Cadillac seat, if latch won't work???
You can trigger the latching mechanism release, it might take a little playing with but I'm sure you can handle it :)
