Honestly I used to LOVE both the Battlefield and Call of Duty series (which I'm only bringing up because they've gone down the same path). The problem is that both respective companies only listen to complaints from their last game when they sit down to decide what to do for their next game. The result is that each game is completely different from the last which ISN'T GOOD FOR ANYONE! No one wants to play a series that they don't feel comfortable buying on a yearly basis because they never know what to expect from the developer!
+ShardEye COD has been using the exact same strategy and making the same type of games since MW2
Fat Bastard I would really like to know your reasoning behind that because I loved the series up until MW2. The Black Ops games have been okay mostly because they included zombies but besides that I have never appreciate the series the same. The have constantly changed the mechanics surrounding the weaponry, they've jumped all over the place when it comes to rewards for kills and most notably the shape of their multiplayer maps have changed from a linear setup to triangles and squares. This may not sound like much but changing the shape of the maps has had the most profound effect on the gameplay. To someone who doesn't play the game or who only plays it very casually then I can see how it may feel like the same thing over and over, but for people who try to "master" the games it is incredibly frustrating when each new release makes the previous techniques irrelevant.
Battlefield has tried a few different ideas (to the same degree as Call of Duty) but the same stability issues have plagued the series since Bad Company 2. There's really no excuse for it and quite frankly it's the reason why I chose not to purchase Hardline and why I will likely opt out of purchasing this new game.
+ShardEye COD has use the exact same engine, recently theyve updated it, but it still plays the same and has similar limitations. They still do small map game modes only with a only about 12 players in a match at a time
Fat Bastard Game engines don't play that big of a factor in what it feels to be "on the group" inside a match. It might add a few capabilities but realistically if it's the same developer making a game in the same series it's not going to create major differences unless it's a substantial upgrade. 12 player matches is what Call of Duty does. It's not a massive-scaled first person shooter it is built to focus on small scale engagements where each player has a real chance to impact the outcome of the game. It's their niche and I wouldn't consider that to be a downside.
By that same token, Battlefield has always done the same thing by always focusing on large-scale maps with as many people as possible. The end result is the same exact feeling when playing each iteration of the series.
The only reason I even bother to defend Activision here is to level the playing field because it is my belief that both of these companies have made serious mistakes with their recent releases and they have lost a large amount of the core base of gamers that have supported them over the years. They may have gained some new players too, but if they ever choose to go back to the gameplay styles that we grew up with (because that's what A LOT of people want) then newer players may not find it enjoyable.
Both companies are trying to appeal to everyone when really they should be focusing more on making their original supporters happy because that is what makes a solid series of games.

Actually, I'm gonna guess 2143. Notice the shadow coming over his face as he's looking up at something that he's awed by. The only thing that would be that high, move that slow, and yet large enough to cast a shadow in that proportion would be a Titan.

I think they left it ambiguous on purpose. The jacket could be from any era, and the flashes of light could be guided missiles or old school tracer rounds.

It looks like it's either bfbc3 (because of the color of the uniform) or battlefield 2143 because it looks like he's wearing a trench coat and 2142 was based of an ice age i think. Or ww2 again because of the color of the uniform.
The large shadow makes me think 2143 because of the Titan ships, but I wish it were BC3.
