About the recording setup.... if you look at her cover channel you will see many different setups. She used a pop filter...comments said it was covering her face. She got rid of it. Then they said the mic was still blocking her.. she made adjustments. She started using the style you saw in the whitney cover (side shot). I think Angelina is using her cover channel as a testing ground for some different sounds, and techniques, and setups. She's not trying to create stamped wax in her bedroom. She's basically 'playing' with her "hobby" (although it is more of a lifelong passion than a hobby) There are lots of videos of her in legit studio settings over the years, and you can tell she is very comfortable in that environment. I have heard that producers love her because she is a 'one take' kind of artist. There are also lots of videos of her interacting with different bands. She seems like she is in full control at all times. A true professional...and even at 8,9,10 years old. It's really great to hear your thoughts on her, as I can tell you really know about music. I think she is going to continue to surprise and impress you with every new thing you see from her.

Yes, she is her own person but I, too, have fallen into the trap of making comparisons and I shouldn't have done because every song she sings is, in my opinion and that of many others, better than the original. She has the ability to adapt her voice to draw out the emotion of the song and communicate that emotion to her listeners.. In a pathetic attempt to justify the comparisons I have made, the fact that most of her songs are covers leads to the very human response to make comparisons. Your comments are a "wake up" call to me because the very fact of making a comparison doesn't give Angelina the recognition she deserves. Please continue on your journey of discovery.
I'm an Angelina fan and I've seen most of her performances, many multiple times, and I have also seen many reactors to her catalog. Nevertheless, it has a unique feature for a condenser mic, an internal foam that acts as a pop filter. As Angelina must sing much closer to the mic than in a studio, that feature is a must.
What i find most amazing about these early performances is not the voice, which is obviously ridiculously amazing, it's the emotional resonance, she sings like she's lived it, but she can't possibly understand because she hasn't lived it. She hasn't suffered or felt the things she is singing about, but she sounds like she has, and did from the get go. Like somehow she is able to channel the pain of others through her voice. It's uncanny and weird. But undeniable. She really makes you feel that emotion. It's a true talent.

Yes! Her humanity, I believe, is an integral part of her ability to bring out the emotional response from her fans. This was the first video and first I ever heard of her. It popped up under recommendations, thank you RUclips! I have not gone a day without Angelina since. Watching her read the lyrics can be a distraction and it seems that her timing is off by just a little. But, I think she does that on purpose. If you turn the lights down, close your eye's, relax and listen, her timing is just perfect. This amazing, young ladies voice is medication for the soul. Every cover Angelina does she puts her own stamp on it. She makes the song hers. It is an uncanny ability and a tremendous talent and asset to her performances. Angelina always chooses what to sing and does the arrangement herself. She now has at least 3 original songs out there with, I am sure, more to come. Regarding the calm and natural way her voice is "washing around" those song themes I think she`s already standing on her very own musical feet (since longer). Great review - also, I just watched Bernie's chat with Ivan yesterday. I noted how they would get together, pick a song which he and she would basically learn on the spot and then record it. WOW! He was bemoaning (slight) flubs like squashed notes as he played and talked about how he just followed her lead as she sang. That was, actually, an almost unbelievable performance for sure! Thanks!
Please, please yes! Finally someone saying what I've felt since the first time I heard her. She's incomparable, so stop comparing her. She's NOT like Amy Winehouse. She's NOT like Adele. She's NOT like Ella Fitzgerald. She's Angelina Jordan, and that's all she needs to be. I agree with you 100%. A wonderful reaction. Well thought out and right on point. She does occasionally use a shield on her mic, but her fans complained that it interfered with them watching her expressions as she sang, so on these home studio covers she's mostly dropped it. After all, that's who she's doing these for. If you really want to hear her on a professional level, you have to go to her extended CD 'It's Magic', or wait a few more months until her album drops. Drama, I have been binge watching Angelinas videos for the past day and a half. The list of adjectives is too long to accurately describe her other worldly talent. You can sense the God particle in this young lady. IMO, She is genius level good.
She's amazingly good. Keep in mind, she's a mere child. What's frightening is that she's got plenty of room to grow. She also has some unique jazz phrasings there. Very impressive.

The info on her new album was relayed by her herself. A couple of reactors met her on the set of AGT two months ago when she was auditioning for AGT Champions season 2 which will be on in January. She indicated that a new album is coming shortly

Watching her read the lyrics can be a distraction and it seems that her timing is off by just a little. But, I think she does that on purpose. If you turn the lights down, close your eye's, relax and listen, her timing is just perfect. This amazing, young ladies voice is medication for the soul. Well said She certainly has her own sound and interpretation that seems so mature. I like hearing some of the technical opinions you share since I am very clueless about those details.
Every cover Angelina does she puts her own stamp on it. She makes the song hers. It is an uncanny ability and a tremendous talent and asset to her performances. Angelina always chooses what to sing and does the arrangement herself. She now has at least 3 original songs out there with, I am sure, more to come. The only comparison I make regarding Angelina's covers is, "Better than the original!"

Every time I listen to her cover song then I listen to original like Elton John Adel Amy weinhouse or Freddy mercury or else this singer are all my favorite singers especially Elton John withney Huston queen Adel and what amazes me is that she sing better than all these singer and after I listen to.angelina I don't enjoy to listen any other singers angelina took my expectation to another level

Whereat I actually never felt the need to compare Angelina to other artists. Regarding the calm and natural way her voice is "washing around" those song themes I think she`s already standing on her very own musical feet (since longer).

Great review - also, I just watched Bernie's chat with Ivan yesterday. I noted how they would get together, pick a song which he and she would basically learn on the spot and then record it. WOW! He was bemoaning (slight) flubs like squashed notes as he played and talked about how he just followed her lead as she sang. That was, actually, an almost unbelievable performance for sure! Thanks!

Please, please yes! Finally someone saying what I've felt since the first time I heard her. She's incomparable, so stop comparing her. She's NOT like Amy Winehouse. She's NOT like Adele. She's NOT like Ella Fitzgerald. She's Angelina Jordan, and that's all she needs to be. I agree with you 100%.
A wonderful reaction. Well thought out and right on point. She does occasionally use a shield on her mic, but her fans complained that it interfered with them watching her expressions as she sang, so on these home studio covers she's mostly dropped it. After all, that's who she's doing these for. If you really want to hear her on a professional level, you have to go to her extended CD 'It's Magic', or wait a few more months until her album drops. I think that's going to show her on a whole new level, and I can hardly wait.

Drama, I have been binge watching Angelinas videos for the past day and a half. The list of adjectives is too long to accurately describe her other worldly talent. You can sense the God particle in this young lady. IMO, She is genius level good.
She's amazingly good. Keep in mind, she's a mere child. What's frightening is that she's got plenty of room to grow. She also has some unique jazz phrasings there. Very impressive.

I've said before, she could book a day in a music studio with Ivan Mendez, this LA guitarist, & fly in Egil Clausen, her Oslo guitarist. She is known for her single takes, so they could knock out an album in a day & be home for dinner. I would contribute to a studio rental fund to make it happen! I sure hope the rumors are true that she has an album of originals coming out in January. Does anyone have info on this?

The info on her new album was relayed by her herself. A couple of reactors met her on the set of AGT two months ago when she was auditioning for AGT Champions season 2 which will be on in January. She indicated that a new album is coming shortly
