I'm astonished at just how much of an absolute trooper this thing was over the course of 15 YEARS of service, exploring one of the most inhospitable environments one could imagine. Absolutely amazing, the things we're capable of creating as a species. This rover, its incredible longevity and durability, and the volumes of information it's managed to give us, is an excellent testament to what our species can accomplish ^_^

This is just another example of NASA outdoing itself. It seems the great majority of their missions last much longer than planned, but this one has to be a record!
I've said this before, Alex, but will do so again. I can still remember my excitement and wonder as a 12 year old, seeing those first boot prints on the Moon. At 62, I have some years ahead of me, but most certainly there are more behind. My fervent wish is to be transported in time to 1969 and to feel that wonder again, this time on Mars! Please, pretty please, can we send a manned mission there before it's my time? Perhaps they could put Alex in charge of narration!
