I'm going to make a quick coffee and enjoy watching this, cheers Jules 🍵
Nice, better make it a big one! ☕
@@JulesBurt I have done 😊
Nice!🙂
How lovely that your parents’ books were one starting point of your collection ❤
The collecting seed was planted early!
You are like the Bob Ross of book collectors. I can listen to you talk about books for hours as I scan your shelves. A great stress reliever! What I love the most about you is that you've read so much of what you collect. It's not just an object with an enticing cover and a number on the spine. It's a story, or history, or a fun or interesting read. :-) BTW - I collect Star Trek which is how I found you.
That's a real compliment, thanks so much🙂 I certainly love my Star Trek books but over the years have tried virtually every other genre out there. It's great fun sharing these on RUclips, thanks for watching 🖖
FANTASTIC! What a collection. I am so jealous. LOVE PAPERBACK BOOKS.
Awesome, thanks Hugh!🙂👍
Just started it up...settling in with a Coke in hand, and looking forward to the show.🙂
Excellent news, wonder if you'll spot anything unusual 🙂
I’ve been so excited for this, and I am not disappointed. Thank you for the thorough tour! This was great, and very relaxing.
Brilliant, thanks Cameron, it took quite a while to film but worth it I think🙂
Nice one. Enjoyed seeing that hardback edition of Mysteries of the Unknown tucked in there.
Ah yes! That book is an absolute classic, loved it as a kid🙂👍
What a library! Fantastic collection of books. Thanks for sharing this with us Jules. 👍
My pleasure John🙂👍
@@JulesBurt I'm also very much looking forward to seeing a video showcasing your Tintin collection. I was a huge Tintin fan growing up and actually learnt to read at an early age with the help of Herge's excellent stories. 🙂
Ah yes, well the first Tintin video is written, it just needs filming. I have an Asterix one to go out first. Definitely on the agenda though👍🙂
Interesting story about the guy who was held hostage. Pretty wild that he wanted to collect them again for old time's sake. If I were a hostage I'm not sure I would want to revisit that period in my life, haha! But I guess they provided him with comfort, so there's that. What a fascinating story.
Edit: I love how the Hard Case Crime books look on a shelf! You mentioned they've had recent success with Stephen King's recent work, but they've also gotten into the graphic novel and manga business, believe it or not! I recommend Ryuko, which is a gangster story about a badass chick on a motorcycle, written and drawn by world renown sculptor-turned-cartoonist Eldo Yoshimizu.
I think that's what it was, a comfort thing rather than anything else. I did know that Hard Case Crime did those comics but confess to not having read any yet. By the sound of it I better give them a try🙂
Thanks. When i first saw the post i went did all my task and returned to sit back and enjoy..And i did..So much to see...I here the cry of every collector more space..The Gor books gosh i remember the looks of disaproval..even from sci fi fans😅. Good call on the Edge book a copy will turn up soon. Star Trek, Who....So much to say...Thanks Much 🤗🤗🤗🤗👋👋👍👍
You are so welcome
I hope you got them insured. I'm always worried about a house fire and losing them all!
It's a risk, we are very careful.
Could you make a video showing off your entire Target book collection? That would be so epic!
That's a possibility 👍
What an amazing collection, a lifetimes work. Wow!
You said it! It's even worse now🙂
Of course, like the rest of us you still want to collect more books. But it is amazing,@@JulesBurt
@sherrirabinowitz4618 thanks🙂
Fantastic collection! I was so pleased to see in your Pan Giant collection a copy of 'JET' by Frank Whittle, it's such an interesting read.
Thanks Nigel, that copy of Jet is examined in more detail in the dedicated Pan Giants videos on the channel😀
Very impressive collection
Thanks my friend 🙂👍
just watched this video-a real feast for the eyes. Incredible collection.
Thanks my friend!🙂
What we really need is quick look at the building these sit in. Great to see the books but I can’t picture the layout of the shelves.
Hi David, have a look at the two Shunting videos that were recently on my channel, that'll give you a pretty good idea. The first one is here....ruclips.net/video/PCtlUayD210/видео.html
@@JulesBurtthank you.
@davidprior8 🙂👍
I forgot to comnent on the yellow spine Daw books, and the Pocket Books....👍👍
Ah yes, a deep dive into the first 100 DAW books very soon Sylvan🙂
Fabulous thanks Jules 😃
Nice, thanks Kim🙂
Wow, what an amazing collection. I think i even spotted an Usborne Spy's Guidebook there! I loved that book as a child, the Colin King illustrations really caught my imagination, i remember trying out lots of the activities in that book! Happy days 😀
You've got sharp eyes, yes, The Spy's Guidebook and The Detectives Handbook, amazing books as a kid!
Ohhhhh my, I LOVE your book collection!! Amazing!!!!!!!
Thanks Sydney, glad you enjoyed the tour🙂👍
I going to try and collected more penguin now thank to this video now Jules
Good luck and enjoy those lovely Penguins👍
I collect old vintage mystery books. Hopefully ill collect more sci fi too
Excellent!
@@JulesBurt yep fun 😊
Great collection, Jules and so tidy! I'm jealous. I loved your Pan Advertising card and that little Penguin statue. So cool! When were those from? While I have a small collection of U.S. Penguins (I don't really collect them) I do have a vintage wood and metal table top display. You have a nice collection of Mapbacks. Early Dells in nice condition are hard to find. I believe Dell used cheaper bindery resulting in a lot of books with spine slants. I was surprised that I only saw one Pocket Book UK edition (Pickwick Papers). As a US Pocket collector I've started hunting for them. They are not easy to find especially here in the US. Have you ever encountered any of the UK Ace DOUBLES? I think there are 3 or 4. Thanks again for the video.
Hi Brad, I'll try and answer the questions as they come, over a few replies....the Penguin statue was from a promo about 15 years ago, I was given one by a Penguin book rep🙂 Glad you like the Pans, they are a favourite. I'd like to see that wood and metal display you mentioned....
I do like those early Dell's, especially the mapbacks, just so hard to find in the UK. I'm not really a big fan of the UK Pocket Books, that one is in really nice condition though. Not got any UK Ace doubles though🙂
@@JulesBurt I have about 6 of the UK Pocket Books. Not sure the exact number, but I'm guessing they printed maybe a hundred. I'll have to take a photo of it. However, while checking my laptop I did find a photo of another Penguin sign I own. What is your email address? I will send you the photo.
Thanks Brad, it's my name, no spaces, @gmail dot com
So cool 😎
Thanks 👍
So beautiful more more books
Indeed!🙂🤔
1:43 interesting book title
Which one?
I'm curious, how many years did it take to amass a collection of over 10,000 books?
About 35🙂 Obviously, this is just my personal collection. When I had a shop, we had probably combined books, comics and magazines, about 50,000.
@@JulesBurt Wooow!
🙂👍
The King Penguins would make a good video
Just finished the set last week, planning on filming them in a 2 part video very soon👍🙂
Do you have a specific wish list of titles you need, like for example in the Pan series, or any other series.
I do, for vintage Penguin books mainly but also some Pans. If you contact me through the Facebook group I can share my list with you🙂
Im collecting all star trek and doctor who books
Me too🖖
@@JulesBurt ya it's definitely harder than I thought to get the Dr who stuff go figure 🙄
Immediately, I spot Day of the Triffids. Is that a first British edition?
It is Jerry, my all-time favourite book. Special prize if you can spot how many editions of that book is in my collection!🙂
Nice. Will you do one this year?
I'll try mate 👍
I have about 2000 books, mostly non-fiction. None are collected for their financial value. About half are from charity shops.
Cool👍
Nice video. Just a tip, might want to modify the placement of the microphone. It's so sensitive's I could hear your stomach growling at times through my headphones!
It may have been when I took a drink. I had already recorded the audio but it just wasn't good enough quality, as mentioned before. This was the best I could get in the time😟👍
😊
👍
I want you to come over to my house and read me "Regan and the Bent Copper". 1:09:09 You have the perfect soothing voice to do an audio book.
There's a couple of short audiobooks on the channel. That Sweeney title is pretty decent!
Great video!! Do you have any Indiana Jones books in the collection?
Thanks Daniel, I used to have a few. Certainly the UK hardback annuals but these are gone now, sorry😟
@@JulesBurt That's a shame. Thanks for the reply.
No worries 🙂👍
Do you have a personal webpage that sells your books?
No, only occasionally on eBay.
Hello, I Have some collectives about Alistar Mclean's books including other collectives
P.S. if you have questions or letters, please ask me asap
He's not an author I collect, I do pick up most vintage publishers though.
I wonder how is it now in 2022
Probably another 500 - 800 new additions 🙂
If you read one book a day, it would take 27+ years to get through 10,000.
How many have you read?
Over half of them👍
To paraphrase harlan Ellison, why would you want a library full of books that you've already read?!! And us fans all know what his collection was like :)
🙂👍
You need a bigger house😂.
It's true👍🙂

The guy shows that there are clear covers for dust jackets and paperback book that protect and preserve them.
