- Hi all. On Sunday 24th September 2017, Prestwick got two superb diverts in the forum of two USAF Lockheed C5M Super Galaxys. They originally were meant to be stopping off in Keflavik, before heading to America. However with gusts of 80 knots, the winds were well above the aircrafts operation limits, so the diverted to Prestwick for a night stop instead, hoping for the weather to improve. They eventually departed Prestwick in the late afternoon, within an hour of each other. I hope you all enjoy.

So nice. Best C-5M sound and takeoff ever.
Thanks for Watching :)
SUPER SHORT TAKEOFFS!!! This is what a kind of aircraft I like
Same here, the bigger the better. Thanks for Watching :)
They are Massive and Awesome. See how those engines take the aircraft into the air in such a short runway.
Thanks for Watching :)
Who are the people who leave thumbs down? These planes ROCK!!!!
They probably dislike the new engines
Absolutely my favorite plane lived in the flight path of this plane in San Jose by moffet field all I can say was wow
Thanks for Watching, nice one :)
2 mega machines in action here Dan!
Thanks Elliot.
What an aircraft! Liked, great video Dan!
Cheers Will.
The second almost sounded like it had the old engines on it before it pasted you. I love this airplane
Thanks for Watching :)
Scotrail82 your very welcome!
Awesome video Dan!!!
Cheers Rudi.
I'm gonna miss the TF-39 engines when they're all gone from the C-5 Galaxy aircraft....
Same here, such a unique and classic sound. Thanks for Watching :)

What an absolute beast! Beautiful stuff mate
Cheers Mate.
I love how the landing gear retracts.
Same here, thanks for Watching :)
Fun fact: Each landing gear assembly on a C-5 costs $750,000
Wow !! Súper Awesome !! 👍
Thanks for Watching :)
cool the college I was at in Scotland at the end of the '90s was only about 3 miles from Prestwick and these were a common sight back then
Thanks for Watching, Ayrshire college?
Epic catches, the C-5 is such a beast!
Thanks Mate, can't beat a classic C5.
Great engine sound. But still it can beat the sound of old TF39. Never!
Thanks for Watching. Seeing both the C5B & C5M in person I completely agree with you.
Great views and sound of these Lockheed C5 Super Galaxies and love that view under the belly as the gear rotates before being retracted.
Thanks Mate, yeah the rotating gear is really cool.
that is some serious power
Awesome!
Thanks for Watching :)
Awesome
Thanks for Watching :)
very rare for you but that with that tail being of dover air force base. its a sight and sound I hear regularly.
Thanks for Watching, that's very true, it's very rare to see one in Prestwick.
Impressive!!!!!
Thanks for Watching :)
Beautiful video. Like and sub!
Thanks for Watching and for the Sub :)
At 4:00 (prior to and after that time) on the roof behind the cockpit it looked as though there was a man sticking his head and up to his mid torso; looking out over the top of the plane. Did I see that right?
vbb148 he guides the pilots through the parking lot and to the taxi way then the pilots take it from there
vbb148 I would guess, pre flight ck list of maybe generator, re fuel, ??
The C5 engines... you can't mistake them 🙂
Hallowed golfing grounds are close by.Youre lucky there.
Thanks for Watching :)
With the new, more powerful engines, these aren't much louder than a commercial airliner.
ausim what a monster --lov the u. s. a .---us navy.
I’ve heard these engines before
TF39>>>CF6>>>Low Bypass Engines
Turboprops>PW1000 Family>GE90>TF39>CF6>TF33>Turbojets
2 C5s? Both from 1986..... Thanks
Indeed, thanks for watching.
Same thing with Boeing. 748 it will be better to work at engines sound. Cause those GENX, dont have to many to do with an B747... .
All TF39s are things of the past as of now.
Sounds like a 767
Like TF39 engine sounds…
Same here, thanks for watching.
How can something so big lift up and takeoff so fast? Because it has my DC-10 sounding engines that's why. 😊😊😊😊😊
3 I need c5m galaxy on tiny small nation Mizo ancient times history made happy all time hei Ka behliang over faith me.tribal
They sound utterly boring compared to the original engines.
Completely agree, been fortunate to film a C5B as well. Thanks for Watching :)
No room for fuel at the inn on CONair. What a remarkable peice of technology w hidden attributes that would make most folks in this compartmentalized world go nutso. I must be out of my mind. Maybe I need to watch some more documentaries and get back on the ball everyone thinks they live on. No offence though. I'm the flathead assuming flat means level but I didn't come up with the name. One needs not to name call when destroying illusions. Name calling is just ones way of beating around irrefutable evidence that challenges ones belief system.
Very rare clickbait bullshit.
