I love this face mask! It was easy to make, fast, and fits well!! It’s comfortable to wear too. I did improve it by adding a 6 inch pipe cleaner inserted into the hem edge of the sleeve so the nose edge lays close to my skin and stays out of the way of my glasses. [I just sniped a tiny hole into the underside of the hem and inserted the pipe cleaner (with both ends folded in just a bit so no metal pokes at the material -or your cheeks!) into the casing created by their hem. ] I believe it can survive the washing machine leaving it in. Or you can take it out and hand wash the pipe cleaner.
If you don’t have pipe cleaners try a plastic coated wire tie (like those that come on new electronics cords) since they are normally pretty sturdy also.
I’m praying for the world for us all to be loving, wise and faithful each day. I pray that I see what God has given me each day to do and let go of all the should/could/would thoughts and the anxieties that can come with them.
Thanks for creating a great face mask video!🤗😘 air hugs and kisses to all

Great mask making! I would suggest not cutting the "strings" but instead leave them long so the mask can be tied in a bows behind the neck and back of head so ears don't become raw.

SO EASY to follow ,this is the best face mask DIY I have ever seen ,and I've seen them all.But you should insert at least three other layers to the inside ,either paper towels plus coffee filters. You should have at least 5 to 6 layers because a virus droplet is as small as the top of a hair.Any protection is a good thing ,remember you protect you. And I'll protect me, double the protection ,we all win. When taking off mask only touch the strings, never the front, and place face down in a bag on the floor of your car ,for later disposal 😷😷😷

Don’t use the HEP Filters for vacuum cleaners. 3M contain polypropylene not so harmful. Just my opinion listening to a couple doctors on YT.

I love this! Well done! While I know many people would prefer the ear option, I don't. However, I ended up just clipping my strings once so I had one super long string. That way, I could have a loop for my head and tie in the back. You just stitch it up one side and back down the other. Boom. This mask gives you lots of options, and IT IS COMFORTABLE!!!

The best way to test your mask is with a lighter bic lighter hold up close to your face and blow if your able to blow it out then you need a filter try to blow out with medical mask you can’t at least the better ones it doest have to be the n95 mask just the ordinary mask they say if your able to blow out the flame you need two of the cheaper medical mask worn. Curious if you could test out yours with the tee shirt and let me know. Thanks

LOVE this video!! I have been trying to order a mask on Amazon for weeks and they all aren't shipping until May or June (which is super ineffective) This was the easiest mask DIY I have seen on RUclips and I usually don't leave reviews but I felt the need to especially because the video has so many dislikes for some reason? It works and its super easy y'all.

Brilliant use of the T-shirt sleeve. If you place a folded paper towel between the two layers it would increase the protection to approx 90 %. That was shown in a study comparing DIY masks. Also, if you could add a wire to form a snug fit around the nose, it would be even better.
Also, I wonder if it wouldn't be better to use the entire length of the string instead of cutting it in two. This could then be tied around the head at the top and at the back. This might create a closer fit.

Yes these homemade masks are pretty much ineffective in themselves. However, it is not hard to go on to Amazon and order a pack of filters to insert inside the mask. The issue isn't finding filters the issue is finding the proper mask. These DIYs are amazing to have. I think this is the best one I've seen so far. I haven't made any like this because I chose to make mine out of a bunch of bras that I was going to donate anyway. The underwire creates a nice seal under my jawline and I simply slit a hole in between the fabric and put in the filter. Some I sewd back together some I hot glued depending on the fabric. Seeing that I am now out of bras I'll try this and see how it works.
I would also suggest using something like a latch hook or a crochet needle to weave the strings through the slits.

Smh. Somebody always has to make it about race. Yes, this is good, but there’s plenty of no sew tutorials just like this one by people of ALL races.

Here's a tip. If you have an old hoodie with the stoppers on the strings that you squeeze to tighten and loosen (i don't know what they're called) you can run the strings through them and use them to secure the mask. Saves you from having to tighten it in the back and risk catching your hair or ear rings in. It sucks trying to untie it and pulling your hair out. I know because I've done it before.

Excellent, and even quicker if you pull the strings through the holes by way of attaching a small-ish safety pin to the end you are leading through the holes. Like threading knicker elastic!
