- Just another wee walk round our Belfast Castleragh hills garden. The wet windy and cold variable weather conditions have not helped N Ireland garden this spring and summer.
Tom you have me thinking back to 11ths in the past. Always seem to remember good weather when I was a lot younger but memory can play tricks. Keep your powder dry and enjoy the holidays as best you can.
Hi Robert. We haven't had a good spring or summer this year. Our weather is usually dull and overcast with a lot of rain and cold. What can you do? We'll keep going! lol

Yes the rose campions have done well with all the poppies and daisies Joan.

I can only imagine how despondent you are Tom; even in a good year the summer season is short. At least the flowers are soldiering on. The rose campions give a lovely splash of colour against the grey. Here where we are in Oz it is much the same (without the flowers) but it is mid-winter. I am growing impatient for the Spring flush. Hopefully the summer makes an appearance for you and it is not long before t-shirts ad dare I say shorts are the order of the day. 😎 FF
Hi FF. We were so looking forward to enjoying summer sun but it's not happening so far. The weather is indeed very depressing. It really does effect people. I've got to wear my shorts a couple of times so far this spring and summer! Aaaaaah!
All in all Tom, the garden has faired pretty well when you consider the battering,s, the temperature here today is 14 degrees and the heating came on this morning, its very cloudy with rain forcast such a disappointing start to summer,have you much clover on your lawn this year? we have a good show of white and some purple this year but hardly any bee's at the moment and butterflies if I've seen half a dozen so far that's it.
Hey your hostas are looking great (no nibbles) LOL, but I suppose the weather is having an effect on slugs and snails as well,the hailstones had an effect on some of the flowers last weekend but basically all is still looking OK.
Anyway Tom,I'll leave you with this summary.
Oh were is the sun.
Don't say summers done.
And winter is now on it's way.
Just give us a break,the heat we can take.
And make it last more than a day. LOL.
Yes Chris our garden like your has taken a battering with heavy rain cold and high winds. Insect numbers are well down-very few butterflies so far.
