Sitting here watching this, wearing the same jeans. I’m 20 wears in and really digging these jeans. Beee. Wearing them in the heat the past week as well, and they fit works well for the warmer days.
Guessing they avoid tariffs by importing the material and sewing them together in CA (wish they had a better deal with USPS for shipping). This is why a lot of American selvedge denim is cheaper than Japanese.. Some amazing products/technology have come from Americans & Japanese working together. I really like the honesty in there culture, it shows in how they are so advanced, maintain there heritage, and preserve the land.. would like to see a bigger resurgence in American culture and hope to this trend of new small businesses making heritage/quality/handmade goods continue. I ordered a pair of 1925s along with some stamped Horween veg tan belts. Can't wait to check them out/can't believe the price.
I also got their 2 pack oatmeal in stock heavy weight shirts and I like em so far. Question for ya, I have some Bravestar slim for jeans in 32 waist that for ok at least 1 pair the other 2 pairs are flippin Nightnares to wear. All 3 are slim straight what would you recommend if say I think a 33 or 34 in slim fit Bravestars fit best for me if I wanted some Gustin straight fit? Oh and i scored a Filson Tin Clothe jacket for $250 during the sale this past week! They are so slow on shipping though. Ordered Wednesday last week and i still haven't received a shipping confirmation from them. Great video by the way.
@@justinmiddleton935 thanks so much! I’ve never had brave stars so I’m not sure how they compare. Best bet would be to lay them flat and take some measurements to compare to Gustins size chart. Sorry I can’t be of more help!
always been curious about these, big fan of that selvedge ID. i’ve taken the leap on some shirts with gustin but never the jeans. this and the black rainbow nep are tempting. great video!
They should make a rasta nep, red white blue nep, etc. I don't see it very often but would be cool to see denim that wears with themes, patterns, or even different textures.
Yeah that rise isn’t to my liking on the straights and I’m not trying to wear jeans that are 2 full sizes too big on me. 35 is loose enough for me and 36 or 37 would just be insane. Good looking jeans though!
@@PV2G unfortunately they’ll still come long and then you’d take them to get hemmed at a tailor. I have some that I don’t cuff and have them hemmed to the length I need. Best option is to take them to a denim shop (Dutil Denim is where I go)
worth mentioning that you are getting usa made japan selvage for only 161 bucks plus tax and shipping. not bad considering youd be hard pressed to find these elsewhere for under 250 or more. also sizing is important to check because they dont use vanity sizing and these will shrink.
Gustin's jeans are great, in my experience. Their shirts are a different story, though. The fit is pretty good, and the fabric is fine, but the damn tags they use are the worst! I've ended up cutting them out every time I bought their t-shirts because they're so uncomfortable.
So funny because my experience was the opposite before… I had a couple of good shirts from them but the jeans didn’t work out! Now I’m super happy with the jeans. I just got the new heavyweight tees and the tag is a leather patch, no problems so far but I did wonder if it would stick to my skin in hot weather.
@windwalkerfpv I also have one of their crew neck sweaters, which has the leather tag in the back. I've worn that without an undershirt and had no issues. I was more-so talking about the fabric tags in the back of the neck on their regular weight t-shirts. Now THAT tag sucks.

@@windwalkerproductions Naked and Famous has some cool ones like the rainbow weft but the rainbow weft with a nep would be killer!

But I don’t cuff my jeans. Is there an option to have a regular length?

I was wondering that, I was planning to condition the crap out of the tag if I get one. A thick leather tag might not be bad once its worn/softened.

@@C.Dungey appreciate the info, thanks! Maybe the leather tags are the new normal for them 🤞
Only 161 bucks? Shit gimme 10 pairs then!
they look to much like the uniqlo selvage. i love the belt loop selvage touch on gustin jeans though.
