This guy Ren is a phenom. I'm 52 and given up on music. Listening to Ren has sparked a fire inside me, again. His story has connected people in so many different ways. I have had similar experience with certain topics of his life. I watch Ren reactions and I know within that I can do music too. welcome to the RENaissance! firstly, this was an awesome reaction. be advised the Ren rabbit hole is vast. his work is incredibly diverse. many people struggle because it's impossible to fit him into a genre but the truth is Ren is the genre! i know that sounds somewhat hyperbolic but i promise you it's entirely accurate. also, once you start looking into his work you will inevitably encounter the "Ren adjacent" artists. in every single piece i have seen where Ren works with someone else, the people he works with are incredibly gifted. whether it's Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins, the big push or many others, i have yet to be disappointed. if you're interested in learning more about him as a person, i would recommend watching his "1 million subscribers" you tube video or the 8 part "chapters" series that he did. these will give you a good understanding of who Ren is and why, beyond just his music, he is so widely loved and respected. many people will make good recommendations for things to react to going forward. the only advice i would give you in that regard would be to mix it up a bit. a lot of Rens work covers some emotionally difficult topics. a lot more of it is fun or just plain beautiful! it's entirely possible to become a bit burned out if you do too much of the heavy stuff at once. your mental health is important so take good care of yourselves! oh, and Ren fans generally like to be known as "RENegades"! other than that, thank you both so much for sharing this wonderful reaction and much love to you and yours🙂🙂🙂❤❤❤

Ren Aaron Gill self taught himself guitar watching RUclips videos. He had a recording contract with Sony but started having health problems he went to the doctor who misdiagnosed him with chronic fatigue syndrome and bi polar disorder. They put him on anti psychology drugs which gave him psychosis. After about 10 years of suffering with this and multiple doctors he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease. The release of this video he was able to travel to Canada and received proper treatment. He still has troubles. This video was a single take performance it only took 4 attempts to get this version. Ive been addicted to watching people react to this for the 1st time there are legions of people that do. I've probably watched over a thousand people react to it brings me to tears almost every time. Thanks for providing me with my daily fix . I'm only the 23rd comment! I'm in a rush so commenting at the start of the song. Check out MORE REN! He's got something for everyone, he makes music and ignores genres. Or bends genres..creates new ones? For something catchier and more lighthearted do Murderer. I suggest doing both the music video and live version in one reaction. I''ll look for it!

He is independent, he's struggled for years with his health after being misdiagnosed for many years untreated with wrong medication. Eventually he got the correct diagnosis, Lyme disease. He's had stem cell treatment. He spent the letter part of last year and a lot of this year in Canada almost daily treatment. He returned to England for a while he's had to go back to Canada for more treatment after a relapse. Even so he's got a vast catalogue of work and he can't be pigeonholed into any particular genre. He's also got collaborations and quite a lot of work with his band The big push. He used to busk in Brighton on the south coast of England where he spent many years. If you don't know, busking is Street performing. A lot of his work is very emotional but there's a hell of a lot of much lighter stuff as well. He will make you laugh and make you cry. If I were you I'd start with some of his stuff with The big push, there are covers and original work, mostly on the streets. I shot the sheriff (the version where he's wearing red suspenders, I believe that's what you call them in the States) and black Sabbath's war pigs, and rolling stones Paint it black.
At first He was misdiagnosed eventually they found out he had Lyme disease but they treated him with different medicines that gave him psychosis with hallucinations and nearly died from it. he's undergoing treatment in Canada right now stem cell treatment a lot of his music is inspired from the 16th century Bard type music minstrels going town to town

I just watched your reaction to "Hurt" by Johnny Cash and I thought that you had better avoid Ren with that level of sensitivity but I was wrong. You handled it really well. Please react to more Ren. Many will ask you to listen to his trilogy of Jenny and Screech and while I helieve this is ine if his best works, I want to warn you ahead if time that it is a very, very dark story and throat punches almost any who listen. It is brilliant! But it can really hurt deeply. So I join in their recommendation, but do it with understanding of the emotional inpact, and when you are ready to take on the challenge of peeking into human darkness.
