I love Teenage Bottlerocket. It gets stuck in my CD player frequently. I love how they just buzz saw from one song right into the next like the Ramones did back in the day. I'd love to see these guys some day.
It is crazy that so few punk bands could follow such a simple, pure performance style half as good as the Ramones did it. I know some nerd is gonna talk about this opinion but fuck him, I actually much prefer TBR's playing like the Ramones more than the actual Ramones. Ray's count offs are better, and Ray is a sweet heart where Johnny was kind of a jag. And Kody is an all time favorite rythm and vox man. So glad they were successful enough to keep it going for 20 years, actually gonna see them next week in LA and this is in March 2024, bigger than KISS but not so big they became insufferable douche nuggets(looking at you Interrupters...)
Setlist - 1) Freak Out! (1:02); 2) Bigger Than KISS (1:34); 3) Don’t Want To Go (3:32); 4) Stupid Games (6:15); 5) Fatso Goes Nutzoid (9:05); 6) Welcome To The Nuthouse (10:47); 7) Mutilate Me (13:13); 8) Who Killed Sensei? (15:37); 9) Cruisin’ For Chicks (17:03); 10) Skate Or Die (19:29); 11) On My Own, Part 1 (21:32); 12) Blitzkrieg Bop (23:21); 13) On My Own, Part 2 (24:07); 14) Bottlerocket (26:35); 15) Necrocomicon (27:19); 16) Reefer (29:09); 17) Crashing (30:05); 18) Headbanger (32:17)
Someone told they were customs because I made some joke on another thread about how a kid from Wyoming ended up with an Australian guitar, assuming it was a Mosrite Venture. But apparently they are all built by someone named Jason Ingrodi.
