I’d say they are more rude outside of Paris. Paris is more tourist-oriented so you can at least expect good service, while somewhere in Normandy even a service representative can be rude and unhelpful, they don’t even care about business image
I think too many people go to Paris with thoughts such as “They think they are better than me.” In that same way that other places have specific customs and manners which are normal to them, so do Parisians. When you are a tourist anywhere, it is your job to do a little investigation of local etiquette and make an effort to learn how to say “please” and “thank you” in the local language.
@@maryhutchinson7026 No, thats not it. Whole Europe know how french people can be. I use to travel with a caravan with my parents and we always had rude encounters in France. I'm half dutch half Spanish and both population have the same opinion about french. Of course this is a generalization and sure there must be kind people, but they have a bad fame in Europe.
