Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today, I’m super excited to show you how to make an adorable baby romper or dungaree dress from scratch. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced sewer, this project is perfect for creating a cute and unique outfit for your little one. So, let’s dive right in!
Step 1: Materials You’ll Need:
First things first, let’s gather our materials. You’ll need:
• Fabric (choose a soft, comfortable fabric suitable for babies)
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
• Pins
• Sewing machine (or you can hand-sew if you prefer)
• Thread
• Buttons or snaps for closures
• Optional: embellishments like ribbons, lace, or appliques for decoration
Step 2: Taking Measurements:
Before we start cutting our fabric, we need to take some measurements. Measure your baby’s chest, waist, hips, and length from shoulder to crotch. These measurements will ensure a perfect fit for your little one.
Step 3: Cutting the Fabric:
Using the measurements you’ve taken, carefully cut out the fabric pieces for the romper. You’ll need a front piece, a back piece, two sleeve pieces, and pieces for the straps if you’re making a dungaree dress. Make sure to leave seam allowances as per your preference.
Step 4: Sewing the Bodice:
Start by sewing the front and back pieces of the bodice together at the shoulder seams. Then, sew the side seams, leaving openings for the arms and legs. Hem the neckline and armholes for a clean finish.
Step 5: Adding Sleeves (Optional):
If you’re adding sleeves to your romper, attach them to the armholes using a straight stitch. Make sure to match the sleeve seams with the shoulder seams for a neat look.
Step 6: Creating the Bottom:
For the bottom part of the romper, fold and sew the crotch seam together. You can also add snaps or buttons along the inseam for easy diaper changes.
Step 7: Making Dungaree Straps (Optional):
If you’re making a dungaree dress, cut out two long strips of fabric for the straps. Fold and sew them lengthwise, then turn them right side out. Attach the straps to the front and back of the bodice, adjusting the length as needed.
Step 8: Final Touches:
Once everything is sewn together, give your romper or dungaree dress a final press with an iron to smooth out any wrinkles. You can also add any embellishments or decorations at this stage to personalize the outfit.
Step 9: Try it On!

Thanks dear but mujhe aik confusion hai k is dress ko jyse wear kare gi baby? I mean to say u didn't attach any zip or etc?
Wear from side only 0-4 year child and above age need to attach zip or buttons on back side. My video measurement is 3-4 year child so , I didn’t need to put a zip.
