- Crank Scraper, Windage Tray, High Volume Oil Pump, Oil Pan... Having fun with this Performance 454 BBC engine build... Now that we have the bottom end assembled its time to test fit and check for clearance of the Milodon Crank scraper, Milodon Windage Tray, Milling Select Performance High volume oil pump, and Pick up tube, and with all that stuff in there... The Oil pan...
Also... Lets make a cool tool to install the oil pump pick up tube on to the oil pump... So lets get started...😀

I appreciate your skill in making tools and your organized and neat work habits. You take pride in your work and it shows and I’m inspired to go clean up my garage. Thank you.
Bob... I can't thank you enough for your nice comments....You inspire me to
keep working at bringing better and better content for people like your self...
Thanks again....
@@Myersmetalworks Don`t get me wrong I love the tool you made sir
Good job.
Thank you!
I’m enjoying your videos and your skills on the tools, plus you have some good machines in your shop. 👍🇦🇺
Thank you for your nice comment.... 👍
Open end wrench works great for installing the pick up tube
Thanks for sharing...👍
Very impressive, i would love to obtain all those tools!! Lots of skill there, nice job!
Thank you very much!
i wish i had that tool. better then any manufactured one.
Thanks tlcbear2.... Even I was surprised at how well it worked... 😀
@@Myersmetalworks I really need to get some metal working tools.
As mechanical as you definitely are you will love having them....😀
You know it's time like these when I wish the Matrix Movie Pill-O-Knowledge was real. To obtain in a lifetime of skills instantly would be so nice.
Lol.... I'm sure there's many things I could learn from you as well... 👍
That was kool
Thanks Rat Gas Garage... 👍
I removed my comment but I did watch the whole video. Thank you !!
Thank you too!
Great video!
Thanks... Hybrid Muscle Garage.... I Definitely Like your 71 Camaro👍
@MyersMetalWorks HYBRID build coming soon. Not sure if i'll do a LS3 or 496.. Still on the fence😱😁😁
Sounds like two great engines to choose from.... Hard to go wrong either way...😀
Great video! What brand and part number for the oil pan? I am currently building 496 and looking into pans. Thanks!
Those nuts you are using on the windage tray are good in theory but when they are tightened they remove material from windage tray.
Good way to get metal shavings in engine. Just torque one down and then remove it and you will see what i mean.
Thanks for the tip...
Really good attention to detail what brand was the oil pan
Thanks Andrew for the nice comment...
I wonder if you could freeze the pickup tube assembly, and heat the oil pump, enough to make the tube slip easily into the pump. Opinions?
Not sure..... I have never measured how much interference there is between them...
It seems like it would have to help....
Question about the studs for the windage tray. My motor does not have the studs for the tray. I got the studs and the tray. My question is when installing the studs if I do 1 at a time do I have to follow the bolt pattern when torqueing them? If I do how do I follow the pattern if I'm not replacing every crankshaft bearing bolt
Hi Henry.... I would do it one bolt at a time on one main cap at a time no special order...Take one bolt out, install new bolt with stud and torque, then move to the next bolt in the same cap and remove it and install bolt with stud and torque, and move to next cap... Im sure there are other opinion on how to install them, but this is how I would do it, if I did the job.... Thanks....
@@Myersmetalworks thanks for the reply. This is what I planned in doing I just wanted to make sure I'm not going to throw the Crank out of wack on a brand new engine
What have I done with my life, JK but you have some very nice tools.
Thanks Rickbo's Rides.... But you have a very nice Camaro...
Other ways? Sure. But why not and it's a bitchen tool. Enjoy these tool fab videos 🤤
Thank for the nice comments...
Nice videos, the background music is to annoying to watch your entire presentation
Thanks for the feedback so we can improve...
The music in this video makes me want to go hangout at the beach, and drink a martini, not build an engine!! LOL
Lol.... Just having fun with it....
Half a windage tray looks pretty sketchy!
Wow! You have skills. But buddy, if your time is worth anything, you just spent a butt load of time and effort to do what most guys would do with a open end line wrench or something. ;) ;) However, if you got thousands of dollars of equipment, years of machining experience, and are having fun, who cares?!?! :) :)
Hi Rick...... Thanks for the nice comment and advice.... It is just a hobby...
