I always liked Fuzzy Zoeller. He was a terrific golfer and I know what a difficult game golf is to play well. As far as the controversy, Fuzzy was drinking and said some things that he regretted later trying to be funny. I have done the same thing myself, and so have many people. I wish him well.
He didn’t have a racist bone in his body. Just look at what Jim Thorpe said about him. He liked to drink yes. But I think the entire thing was the beginning of our woke culture.
Ask any of the players on the Tour, especially the African-Americans, and they will tell you he was NOT a racist by any means. The entire story about Tiger Woods and the Master's dinner was inaccurately reported and blown out of proportion.
This is laughable! Fuzzy is still successful to this day! I live 20 minutes from him, and worked at the golf course he owned. He now has his own brand of vodka, as well as owns Fuzzy's The 15th Club, Food and Spirits! Do some research!
Couldn't agree more @JerryDole-j5e!! I have known Fuzzy for 30+ years and last Played with and spent time with him last year and the garbage in this vid has never been mentioned either by Fuzzy or anyone that we came in contact with, either friends, acquaintances or fans! His Tiger comment was an unfortunate comment though that has been long buried. Financially, Fuzzie's doin just fine, lol As has probably been mentioned, he's 72yo, not 81😂😂 Sounds like the same guy that did the law firm's edits on Fuzzie's Wiki page did the edits for this vid. Stay Well👊 RP
Fuzzy cracked a joke that would have been fine in the bar at the 19th hole. He was foolish to have said the joke in the presence of the vindictive media that exists everywhere
I have seen Fuzzy on many occasions when he was going to the Patoka Lake area in Southern Indiana. He was always very cordial & never once acted like he was better than anyone else.
Fuzzy was and is a great guy with unbelievable talent. This presentation is overdramatized and the so called racist comments after Tiger won at Augusta were blown way out of proportion. We need more players like him on Tour today ⛳️
Unfortunately he made his Tiger comment. He was crucified for that. Maybe a more sincere apology could have smoothed the things over, but at that time, tiger was a God. And from everything I've read, tiger didn't forgive him. Glad to see that fuzzy has continued on with a life lived well
He had a tremendous contract with K-Mart. When he told his "Tiger joke", his products at K-Mart were put on sale so heavily discounted that they sold out immediately!
I interviewed Fuzzy on the colonial course in Memphis and asked him " how are you playing?" He replied on cam "well I started on. 1 then went to 2 then to 3 ... I chuckled
I heard the Tiger comment, it was a light hearted joke, he meant absolutely nothing by it, and the media took it and ran with it, making it into something it clearly was not, he was smeared, and Tiger wouldn’t say one word to defend him, lost respect for Tiger after that.
The media destroyed Fuzzy’s Career not Fuzzy. Fuzzy is lighthearted and always taking things casually. Anyone who knows Fuzzy, knows that he would never speak an ill word of another person.
You lost respect for Tiger because of what he said? Tiger didn’t want to get into any back and forth so just didn’t say anything. The Media once again was the villains. I thought his comment about Tiger was just light hearted
So you lost respect for the person that was insulted, but you still respect the person who did the insulting. Tiger did say that he was shocked to hear that comment, but I believe the two of them got along just fine in the years after. Why should tiger have to go to the media, and smooth things out for fuzzy when he was the one that made the mistake. People should think before they open their mouth.
@leogillespie3309 Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. It's always great to have a community that loves to discuss golf topics. Your support means a lot 🙏
I played in pro-am with Fuzzy and found him to be a great guy. He was very engaging with his amateur partners, very helpful with distances, shot selections, and green reading on putts. Fast forward 20+ years and I played the course he owns across the river from Louisville, Kentucky and he remembered the pro-am, the tournament, the course and, to my surprise…me…even a few putts I made to help the team. So…what’s being said in this video is b_ _lls_ _t!
He has/had a strange swing. Held his hands very low and addressed the ball very close to the hosel. His weight went to his back foot for a long time, and he used he powerful wrists to propel the ball great distances. He played hungover, like John Daly, quite often, but with his sunglasses in place, most folks never knew. He won two major titles, so he did something right.
@steveng8727 Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. It's always great to have a community that loves to discuss golf topics. Your support means a lot 🙏
I heard him make a nasty statement about the youth at Greensboro back in . It was family day and he was asked for interview and he said "If I have to take time with those DAMN KIDS" I have not cared for him since. Much adoo about nothing.
First off get the pronunciation right. Secondly his on course persona and joking were not an attempt to disrespect the game, it was a method for Fuzzy to deal with nervousness while playing. Who narrated this shit....a robot?
I did walking scoring on the Tour for 17 years as a volunteer. Fuzzy was a delight to score for, always appreciative of the volunteers and polite to all. He was respected by his peers.
I’m torn with this man, want to give him benefit of just being drunk but when the wine goes in the truth comes out. Probably the rumblings of the behind the scenes racism towards Tiger manifested itself in an unfortunate clip that can’t be undone and tarnished the way I think of him.
Cool player, cool name...made a few mistakes in life... _like everyone else!_ Zoeller's comment _"fried chicken, collard greens...or whatever the hell they serve"_ was diminishef by Tiger himself: _"Fuzzy and I had a nice lunch conversation. I found out something I needed to know and it’s over. Hopefully, we will have a good tournament now"_
Fuzzy was great for PGA tour he was great friend just because we smile In public as golfers don't mean we can't smack heads and raise hell fuck this shit fuzzy is fuzzy we party too
He was really good and nice guy too. got his autograph in memphis and he talked to me for a little bit. got payne stewarts the same day and he never even looked at me, like he had a stick up his ass.

A reporter stuck a mic in Fuzzys face right after he had just finished his 3rd double vodka! The resulting comment and finger snap cost him millions starting with WalMart dropping him by the next day! I don't think Fuzzy was raciest but more likely a little upset that a 19 year old was getting such attention? However, I think Tiger at the time was tried of the old guard like Fuzzy , Snead who came across as being a little raciest??????????? Davis Love tried to defuse the situation, but Tiger and his camp along with the slanderous media had a field day with this incident at the expense of Fuzzy Zoellers' career!
Have you seen the galleries today?! Disruptive, rude, no class. i once had on my bucket list to be a part of a gallery but not now, Fuzzy would fit right into the tour today.
Thank for pointing out correct pronouncing of his name, that was terrible and unprofessional. I have personally met him, despite his addiction issues he is a great guy. Yes the tiger comment was uncalled for, but he apologized to tiger and anyone else that may have been offended. Once called on it, he is not the type guy that would want to be insensitive to someone else’s feelings..
How does this even get on FB. when just the pronunciation of his last name is wrong throughout. But there was that "fried chicken" incident with Tiger after Tiger won the Masters.
Didn't know that he was a booze bag, but he did disappear pretty quickly after the fried chicken 🐔 and shakes comment, but a terrific golfer in his prime 👍
They aren't very accurate in reporting this "story". They don't know how old he is and as several have pointed out, cannot even pronounce his name correctly. A real waste of time to watch this garbage.
What about the “fried chicken” remark at the Masters? Was he drunk? Seems like an AI nonsense-assembled collection of GIFs and a synth voice reading an AI-generated voice over. D- at best.
Fuzzy was drunk at The Masters in 1997 and should not have been interviewed by the Press when drunk. He said Tiger better not have fried chicken and watermelon an The Masters Champion Dinner the next year

1984 US Open: Fuzzy Zoller and Greg Narmon square off 😂
That's the media for you. Attention to detail and accuracy left "journalism" a long time ago.
don't you realize this is AI speaking to you! "ACE ICONS" = AI...get it?
This is laughable! Fuzzy is still successful to this day! I live 20 minutes from him, and worked at the golf course he owned. He now has his own brand of vodka, as well as owns Fuzzy's The 15th Club, Food and Spirits! Do some research!
Exactly, vodka brand! Only shows how much he loves to drink!
This channel could start by programming their robot voice to pronounce Zoeller correctly!
It’s a bs channel like many. Just making up crap for clicks.
