You may not see this, but I want to encourage you by writing it any way, because you are such an encouragement to me. I grew up in a non-christian home, and became a christian as a young adult. I now have three beautiful children, and am trying to raise them in a Godly manner, but have had no example set for me. Watching your videos, and the way that you approach your day with a joyful heart and a spirit of gratitude, has been such as enormous blessing in my walk in motherhood. My three are a little younger than your eldest three so it really feels like God has given me your videos as a beautiful example of a Godly wife and mother who desires to serve her family above herself and chooses to push against the tide of mothers on social media who just complain about their load and talk badly about their kids. Very thankful for you and your channel

I really don’t understand how you manage to keep 4 little kids including a newborn happy and entertained, while cleaning the house, changing the sheets, cooking homemade food, homeschooling and even working (filming AND editing), and all of this being sleep deprived but full of joy ! you must be a super hero somehow. I really can’t imagine doing all of that in one day, especially while keeping my smile, and I only have two children 😮

I think she's just one of than women that really loves children. She enjoyes the company of her little ones, and making them happy makes her happy. There's rare but these women exist. I'm not one of them unfortunately, even though I have children. Some women are just made to be mothers and it's wonderful. Last time I was at this channel when she had 2 babies. And she kept telling how much she loves them and enjoys them.

I remember those hard days so well. Looking back there was something so cozy about waking up in the middle of the night to feed baby even when you feel so exhausted. You look beside you at your sleeping partner and resent them for not having to wake up too, but it’s so special because everything is quiet and dark and beautiful and you’re spending quality time with your tiny person and they’re going to love you more than life itself and forgive you for anything. Little people are so precious and how lucky are we to get to guide them through life for such a short time before they’re gone. ❤ you’re an amazing, real and authentic momma. You should be so proud.

Baby number four was big switch up for our family too. It was something that I realized about week 3-4 and I needed to slow way down and just take one task or thing at a time. We were homeschooling also at that time and I realize we personally needed to do more of a slow start. I would add a few subjects in at a time. I needed to learn that special newborns needs and know that I needed to switch things. It was a little uncomfortable to be honest because it was our of my norm...but after about another two weeks I felt more confidence that I knew our newest baby and her needs from mama and family- I could then feel that I could navigate things better. Lots of nursing and reading out loud helped along with playing games or coloring held my bond with the other kiddos. LOTS of grace and peace to you and your journey, Do what feels right for your family. I pray over you and your family that God will provide clues as to what is needed during this sweet yet hard time.

I’ve never commented before, but I have been watching your videos for a few years now- I was so excited when you announced you were pregnant as I had found out a few weeks prior that we were expecting our first. I loved walking through this pregnancy being in the same stages as you, it made me feel less alone. Our little girls actually share the same birthday, August 18th, but I haven’t been able to watch a video since then for the fear that you had everything going perfectly. I was scared I would watch you getting everything done while I’m still struggling just to keep our baby happy and get the laundry done before my husband gets home from work. Thank you for being so real, I was worried I was going to cry because I felt inferior but the opposite happened- I cried because I felt like, once again, I wasn’t alone.

When watching your video, one thing came to me from my early baby wearing days, I found a great hack for the little ones that don't hold their head just yet. Taking a burp cloth or something, rolling it up and putting it under the top part of the wrap from outside and pulling the wrap over just under their head to support their neck, kinda like a pillow roll that supports their head when needed

Hi Delilah! Just wanted to let you know that the haakaa's suction still extracts more milk than a let down would which can increase your milk supply. I used it with my first baby every time I fed and it increased my milk supply so bad that I ended up with oversupply which lead to painful breasts and clogged ducts. Also, my baby had lots of gas and bad reflux due to my milk coming out so fast. I know a lot say it just catches milk but it actually does hve a bit of suction to it.
if you want to try one that's just a milk catcher, I use the haakaa's ladybug, you just sit it on your bra and it catches all your let down without having a suction (you also have the option to have suction if needed) Just thought I'd say this in case you didn't know already, because from the last vlog you mentioned the haakaa catching just your let down and that at the start you have a lot of supply - which it might be from using that haakaa every feed. Have a good day and sending your family my love ❤

Yes, I second this! My daughter had pretty bad reflux that I believed was a cow’s milk protein sensitivity until I realized I was creating a huge oversupply by pumping. The fast letdown and foremilk overload was too much on her tummy.

Yes! I find everyone raves about the haaka but no one explains how to use it properly. I used it, but I actually had a really low supply, so the haaka was stealing milk from my son. So when I would switch him onto the side that just had the haaka, there wasn't enough milk for him. I have a lot of guilt about it 😢

I think with this 3 rd child I m just going to breastfeed and try not to stress out..try not to become hyper focused on pumping early. I work on call so I don't need a supply for weeks and weeks on end. I justbfind breast feeding groups to be kinda stressful in that way...look at my freezer stash..look at my milk fat ...and every baby on earth it seems now has a lip or tongue tie...exhausting.. Hi Delilah! I've been following your channel for a while. Your videos are always so inspiring and soothing.
I am a doula and wanted to bring up that Annie could be suffering from a mild allergy. Dairy and gluten are the big allergens I usually see in very fussy, more high needs newborns. My daughter (now 2) has a dairy allergy. I cut out dairy when she was 2 months old and started giving her water (Eastern medicine says to half the baby's body weight in ounces from birth! - though Western medicine differs) and she became such a happy, less fussy little gal.
    Praying for your continued transition!

Evivo probiotics are fantastic for tummy distress.
I nursed for my whole existence during this stage so I feel you. My son was so fussy and never slept so we had to give him reflux medication. The dr said he had silent reflux which is when it’s just kind of stinging their throat but it’s not fully coming up. He was sleeping through the night by 10 weeks with the medicine (per my notes). Frida baby’s “windi” is also a strange and effective tool for gassy backed up babies.
I caved and bought the Snoo at 7 weeks as well lol
Good luck!!! Having a clinger is definitely not easy but you’ll get through this ❤

My daughter is 4 months old, and totally didn't like being on her own. The only way my husband could get her to sleep was in her wrap. She just doesn't like sleeping on her own and I don't blame her, I hate sleeping by myself too. Definitely recommend getting one to everyone I know who is expecting a baby ❤

Wow… you’re so fortunate that your husband is home to make breakfast, allow you to get ready, help with kids, entertain them and at least to be another adult in the house… I have 4 kids ages 6 and under. My husband works long hours everyday. He’s not home much. So doing everything alone is really really hard.

I was so scared to parent with a new baby, and was stunned to find out our new baby is so much easier than we knew possible. Every time She falls asleep on her own I am thankful, knowing full well what a gift that is...dare I Say a Miracle?! Our First Had silent reflux and in hindsight probably cmpa also. It was rough. (There are of course Much worse situations to have, not undermining anyones experience)

Our chiropractor taught us when babies have acid reflux to sit them up supporting their chin and chest with one hand and rubbing their back with the other hand starting at the base of the spine and moving up toward the base of the head. Does that make sense? Maybe that would help. I also have 4 kids all with in 5 years of each other. You are doing great mama! ❤

She sounds like a veery typical newborn who likes to be held and nurse. But I know its hard when you also have older children (allthough I "only" have 3). The huge hormone shift after birth can also make you feel sad and anxious and thats for me the hardest part with a new baby. So yes take it easy and ask help if you need it

Praying for you to get some much needed rest, and for Anna Beth to be able to have a settled tummy. Our 3rd child, a daughter, had bad acid reflux. It lasted fir 3-4 hrs. during the late night, early morning hours. My husband was very helpful walking with her so I could rest. Also, I think you said you are mennonite. I recently found out I am of mennonite origin as well. Sweet family you have!

My 9 month old’s acid reflux didn’t resolve until we got his tongue tie released which helps with overall oral development ♥️ She’s a sweetie.

    • @hayleymar

And my second-born's reflux persisted until she was nearly a year old, despite tongue/buccal/lip tie release! So may be an issue caused by ties and solved with release, may not.
But also worth knowing that reflux meds do not make them spit up any less. It only reduces the acidity level, which makes it less painful and causes less damage to their esophagus.

My granddaughter has really bad reflux and had to sleep in her car seat inside her crib. She did go to daycare and her pediatrician sent a note saying it was medically necessary…she was high risk for aspiration. Praying your sweet girl settles soon, so you can both get some good rest….

    • @hayleymar

I'm stunned that a licensed doctor would sign off on that. Such an enormous risk for positional asphyxia. Much safer to gently incline the crib by propping up two feet just a couple centimeters.

For example, this time I love having my newborn daughter in the wrap and I’ve been trying to convince everyone around me that this type of wrap is the best for newborns. I also think every mom should have one. 😂 The stretchy wrap supports her so much better.

I was just going to comment that maybe Anna Beth is sensitive to cows milk or something else you are eating that is passing through the breast milk. I have a 2 month old and have been dairy free for a few days and it is amazing to see how even just that short time frame can help the gas go down. Maybe you can try it for a few days or weeks to see if it helps.
