You may not see this, but I want to encourage you by writing it any way, because you are such an encouragement to me. I grew up in a non-christian home, and became a christian as a young adult. I now have three beautiful children, and am trying to raise them in a Godly manner, but have had no example set for me. Watching your videos, and the way that you approach your day with a joyful heart and a spirit of gratitude, has been such as enormous blessing in my walk in motherhood. My three are a little younger than your eldest three so it really feels like God has given me your videos as a beautiful example of a Godly wife and mother who desires to serve her family above herself and chooses to push against the tide of mothers on social media who just complain about their load and talk badly about their kids. Very thankful for you and your channel

I know it’s what he should be doing and I’m fortunate that my husband is the same but unfortunately not every parent gets that and it’s wonderful to see him being such a fantastic father along with your amazing ability as a mother

I really can’t imagine doing all of that in one day, especially while keeping my smile, and I only have two children 😮

I'm not one of them unfortunately, even though I have children. Some women are just made to be mothers and it's wonderful. Last time I was at this channel when she had 2 babies. And she kept telling how much she loves them and enjoys them.

Mine are 17 months apart. I also have a 12 yr old and an elderly father i care for in my home. I panicked the week before my girl was born wondering how on earth it was going to work. Chasing after her climbing running brother after a csection was rough. And he would try to climb all over her when i would feed her. He was just entering into the screaming whining cus he cant communicate well phase. Etc. But you soon find your groove and figure out what works and all of the great moments erase the overwhelming or chaotic ones. He loves her so much now and they are starting to interact and its so fun! You get really good at having a child in each arm while doing other tasks. Also...wraps and carriers! When my toddler is maybe feeling jealous or left out I just throw him on my back in a carrier. It will all be ok! :)

As a Mom of 3 grown men (ages 34,35,36) and a Mom-Mom of 2 (ages 8 & 10) I love watching your journey through motherhood. I started watching right when Theo was born. I find you so sweet and honest. Showing the downs as well as the ups. So many women are so hard on themselves when everything isn't perfect. As someone whose on the other side, I'm here to cheer you on and remind you to give yourself grace, sleep, let the dishes sit, and nuzzle all those beautiful children. You'll never get that time back. I was so worried about every little thing when ours were littles that looking back, I should've made more memories instead of more laundry, more beds made, more dishes washed, etc... Now I spend every moment making these memories with my grandbabies. Blessings to you Delilah and your beautiful family you and Zach have made together. 😊❤

Hi Delilah! Just wanted to let you know that the haakaa's suction still extracts more milk than a let down would which can increase your milk supply. I used it with my first baby every time I fed and it increased my milk supply so bad that I ended up with oversupply which lead to painful breasts and clogged ducts. Also, my baby had lots of gas and bad reflux due to my milk coming out so fast. I know a lot say it just catches milk but it actually does hve a bit of suction to it.
if you want to try one that's just a milk catcher, I use the haakaa's ladybug, you just sit it on your bra and it catches all your let down without having a suction (you also have the option to have suction if needed) Just thought I'd say this in case you didn't know already, because from the last vlog you mentioned the haakaa catching just your let down and that at the start you have a lot of supply - which it might be from using that haakaa every feed. Have a good day and sending your family my love ❤

      @k1y2l2e1 Год назад +5

Yes, I second this! My daughter had pretty bad reflux that I believed was a cow’s milk protein sensitivity until I realized I was creating a huge oversupply by pumping. The fast letdown and foremilk overload was too much on her tummy.

Yes! I find everyone raves about the haaka but no one explains how to use it properly. I used it, but I actually had a really low supply, so the haaka was stealing milk from my son. So when I would switch him onto the side that just had the haaka, there wasn't enough milk for him. I have a lot of guilt about it 😢

Yes the ibclc s i know say it is a breast pump the haaka. It always hurt me to use it. I think with this 3 rd child I m just going to breastfeed and try not to stress out..try not to become hyper focused on pumping early. I work on call so I don't need a supply for weeks and weeks on end. I justbfind breast feeding groups to be kinda stressful in that way...look at my freezer stash..look at my milk fat ...and every baby on earth it seems now has a lip or tongue tie...exhausting.. I hope I don't make it extra difficult again and stress the whole time

I remember those hard days so well. Looking back there was something so cozy about waking up in the middle of the night to feed baby even when you feel so exhausted. You look beside you at your sleeping partner and resent them for not having to wake up too, but it’s so special because everything is quiet and dark and beautiful and you’re spending quality time with your tiny person and they’re going to love you more than life itself and forgive you for anything. Little people are so precious and how lucky are we to get to guide them through life for such a short time before they’re gone. ❤ you’re an amazing, real and authentic momma. You should be so proud.

Baby number four was big switch up for our family too. It was something that I realized about week 3-4 and I needed to slow way down and just take one task or thing at a time. We were homeschooling also at that time and I realize we personally needed to do more of a slow start. I would add a few subjects in at a time. I needed to learn that special newborns needs and know that I needed to switch things. It was a little uncomfortable to be honest because it was our of my norm...but after about another two weeks I felt more confidence that I knew our newest baby and her needs from mama and family- I could then feel that I could navigate things better. Lots of nursing and reading out loud helped along with playing games or coloring held my bond with the other kiddos. LOTS of grace and peace to you and your journey, Do what feels right for your family. I pray over you and your family that God will provide clues as to what is needed during this sweet yet hard time.

I loved walking through this pregnancy being in the same stages as you, it made me feel less alone. Our little girls actually share the same birthday, August 18th, but I haven’t been able to watch a video since then for the fear that you had everything going perfectly. You are doing so amazing! You are all such a sweet family. Wondering what kind of oven toaster you have and do you use it in place of having a microwave? I’m wanting to be rid of our microwave due to radiation and was curious if the toaster oven is the way to go or even just using the toaster oven instead of my oven all of the time causing my house to get so warm. I love how real and aware you are. It’s easy to be overwhelmed as mama being needed by everyone, I love though that you realize that and are forgiving of yourself but also try to go back to God and ask for his guidance. ❤️🙏🏻

It really helped my son's acid reflux when I went off of dairy and soy. I actually took him to an allergist to confirm those. He eventually did grow out of that, but it helped when he was very luttle

My son never came out of the needed to be held stage. We only got him sleeping through the night at around 14 months and with that saw 2-3 months of 3/4am wake ups. Even for naps it was contact only. It was soooo hard but seeing how fast it goes now (he’s our first), I feel I’ll be more relaxed next time. I hope anyway. You’re such a wonder woman and absolute amaze everyone! ❤

My husband works long hours everyday. He’s not home much. So doing everything alone is really really hard.

It could be our daughter: I was hardly able to put her down somewhere, she would hardly sleep at all on daytime and crying a lot. I was overhelmed, she was my first child and now- several months later, its still hard to get her to rest-so much energy and so much joy☀️

I don't think William likes getting dressed. . .haha how sweet.
You are getting so much done with a newborn and three more. I feel I stayed in bed most of the first two to three weeks after having my third baby (3 mos. pp). Really impressive.
Always love seeing your kids helping you out in the kitchen.
All three of mine were extremely attached to me and I had to/have to hold them all the time, but I will say, it has made us very close as they all grow! I think my second was the only one who was okay with being put down for a bit.

Thanks for being so real. I'm definitely not an expert but as a mom has had two past fussy babies, White noise in their ear helped as well as buying a swing. But you are doing a a great job! Just possible suggestions. And they loved being worn too
Also watch her poop if it's weird maybe possibly dairy sensitivity?

My son is now 9mo but he was also very gassy and very clingy for sleep and naps. I found cutting out things like eggs and garlic from my diet helped with his gassy problems. I would highly recommend seeing a lactation consultant asap and possible looking at eliminating some things from the diet to help with the gass. My son grew out of this issue by about 4mo so it's not long lived. Praying for you and your family in this tender and intense season 🙏

Best years of your life. You'll look back one day and wish you were here again. Some days it's hard to believe that, but it's true. Also, when my babies had tummy troubles, I found that if I ate a pretty bland diet and avoided any gas-related foods, my babies did better, too. You're doing great!

Video request: details on how to do quiet time in a way that minimises children coming to bother you... my oldest is 4 and I have not hacked quiet time yet, we had a good run when he was an only child about 2 yo and would play in his room on his own for 20 min.

Delilah, I know that you and your family and support are way more experienced that I am with only one little one but I will share anyway. Our son had silent reflux (it was the hardest part of having a little person). He had to sleep upright, would cry and wiggle a round in pain about a 1/2 hour after feeds and try to climb me. If Anna is having a hard time you could try some rest in the car seat or swing sitting upright and talk to the pediatrician. They can help reduce the burning element of the acid, even though the hiccups and discomfort won't stop but it will be so much better for baby and you. Good luck❤

Hi Delilah! I've been following your channel for a while. Your videos are always so inspiring and soothing.
I am a doula and wanted to bring up that Annie could be suffering from a mild allergy. Dairy and gluten are the big allergens I usually see in very fussy, more high needs newborns. My daughter (now 2) has a dairy allergy. I cut out dairy when she was 2 months old and started giving her water (Eastern medicine says to half the baby's body weight in ounces from birth! - though Western medicine differs) and she became such a happy, less fussy little gal.
    Praying for your continued transition!

Omg my newborn settles when I do this as well! I lie him on my tummy and breastfeed him while he's on his tummy on mine and he settles right away. Accidentally discovered it one time when I thought "maybe my milk is coming in too fast" but ended up not being about the milk at all 😄

Evivo probiotics are fantastic for tummy distress.
I nursed for my whole existence during this stage so I feel you. My son was so fussy and never slept so we had to give him reflux medication. The dr said he had silent reflux which is when it’s just kind of stinging their throat but it’s not fully coming up. He was sleeping through the night by 10 weeks with the medicine (per my notes). Frida baby’s “windi” is also a strange and effective tool for gassy backed up babies.
I caved and bought the Snoo at 7 weeks as well lol
Good luck!!! Having a clinger is definitely not easy but you’ll get through this ❤
