I live in Astoria off Astoria Blvd near 27th Street. Can confirm that this neighborhood is absolutely the best outside of the city. And, it's actually only a 15 minute ride to 59th/Lex from here!
Definitely one of the better apartments you have shown on your channel. I dig the exposed brick and love the fact the entire building is getting a facelift. Most owners tend to overlook common areas.
Yay, a proper kitchen! I love it. The Landlord was smart to renovate it the way they did and prepare for after COVID. This one won't stay empty for long. I would prefer the back facing room as it would be quieter for me.
I have lived in many rooms with back-facing, and even light shaft windows. It never bothered me. In fact, it's quite cosy and private. In this one, though, you'd want to consider that the door is at the breakfast bar--but nothing's perfect.
@@bjmurray1842 I agree. I don't like too much light and noise. I think back-facing rooms are much cosier and more calming. I would be willing to deal with the door being by the breakfast bar in this particular apartment though. I would be the one in the kitchen the most anyway. LOL
@@JJ-mh3hb In 2 years time it will even out in the wash. The city of New York are working with a lot of small building owners. There are too many associations, lawyers, and tenants in general all feeling it due to COVID. No ones getting evicted. No ones getting tax liens. This is not a normal year. This new building owner will be fine.
Okay, I have to admit this is a really nice apartment. A bathtub, washer and dryer will make it 100/100. The price is really good. That kitchen, beautiful and the brick, sold.
The A/C wall units are great, and are standard in Europe. I wish NYC landlords would get with the program and do the same. Especially given the limited space apartments have here.
One of my fave things that I look forward to in your videos is your facial response as you enter. I can pretty much tell how good it's going to be by your look of "WOW!" This apartment was amazing.👍
Out of the more than 50 different apartments, I’ve seen on your channel (aside from super expensive luxury ones) this is my personal fav, for every single reason you mentioned. Especially *the layout of the kitchen, with counter space on each side of the stove.* I would sleep in the room without the view, hoping it’s quieter. I could actually live in this apartment and live to tell the story.
Sniffle. You are one block over from the building I grew up in. That apartment is awesome. Thanks Cash for the walk down memory lane. Can't go wrong with Astoria. Great neighborhood. Easy to get to various places.
This is a VERY nice apartment, and a REAL two bedroom. Nice touch on adding the AC/heaters in every room (also means the landlord won't pay for the heat while you'll pay for the electricity, but ... nothing's perfect AND you can control your own heat, unlike in many places with radiators), and the kitchen is fabulous! This should be snapped up fast!
In the words of Guy Fieri..."winner, winner, chicken dinner!" This is a great apartment! Thanks for coming to Queens! I live nearby in Jackson Heights but my work brings me to this part of Astoria on a regular basis.Great neighborhood!
This apartment is definitely a winner!!! Its beautiful and on a nice quiet street... The front bedroom w/ the street view is definitely a nicer room that the other one w/ the view of the air shaft....
Astoria is truly where it’s at! Everything at your doorstep without the craziness of Manhattan. But still really easy to get into midtown. And amazing authentic Greek food let’s not forget
Wow! This one is fantastic! The apartment is very bright and cheerful - it's spacious yet cosy and I love the look of the neighbourhood. Because of your videos I have put New York top of my holiday list once this pandemic done 😊😊
Very tastefully done. Looks like the owner has pride with their ownership and spared no expensive/corner cutting with this remodel. Of course anytime I hear Queens, I automatically think back to Eddie Murphy's Coming to America.
Wow oh wow. A real kitchen. That's a great unit, Cash. I always go over to street easy and after reading up on this apartment, they suggested I look at a rental in The Piano Building. I think it wins the award as the sunniest apartment ever. If you get out to Astoria again, this would make a kick-ass tour. It appears to have the medicine cabinet to end all medicine cabinets, as well
I’ve been watching you for quite a while - love your videos! And this is the first one I would ever want to rent - love everything about this place!! Location, renovation - it’s got it all!
Serious props to you for spending that long inside a place and resisting the urge to set the oven/microwave clocks. The perfectionist inside me needed a break to let you know before I go back to the blinking!
Awesome apartment since I live alone just me and my dog it's perfect size, plenty of light, all the shops you need within your neighbourhood, I love trees in a street and there right outside your window fabulous absolutely superb.
That apartment was really fantastic!!!! The light that came in was really flowing great. The closets were really large and to have vents/air conditioners was a wonderful touch. I would say $3000 was a really decent amount.
Nice. When I lived in NY, I was in Brooklyn Heights, and the train ride into Manhattan isn't a big deal... The train rides are definitely worth it to get a nicer apartment.
Fantastic apartment! I love the close proximity to stores and restaurants. A stackable washer and dryer would have been nice, but the laundromat close by is a plus.
if i decide to move back home thats something i would want for myself - I love Astoria and my best friend growing up lived there so i know the area very well. ♥
The size, light, views and 'hood make me want to move in despite some issues in NYC.Too bad that won't be possible. Another plus is being the first resident after the renovation. So nice to not live in a place with too much imprint from past tenants.
Thumb's up on this one!! Great space, area. Love the bathroom and kitchen!! LR and 2 bedrooms perfect for 1 or 2. Would miss washer/dryer, but close by to laundry. There is a birdfeeder nearby. Rarely see that in Manhattan!! Another winner, Cash! Stay well, and careful on the stairs!!!

Excellent post. Many great neighborhoods in Queens and Astoria is certainly one of them. Heck, you can even own a car and get out to Jones beach next summer!

this an 8/10 apartment, the only missing is a washer-dryer, but it's doable since its close to a laundry matt
