    Yay, a proper kitchen! I love it. The Landlord was smart to renovate it the way they did and prepare for after COVID. This one won't stay empty for long. I would prefer the back facing room as it would be quieter for me.

    • @bjmurray1842
      @bjmurray1842 4 года назад +4

      I have lived in many rooms with back-facing, and even light shaft windows. It never bothered me. In fact, it's quite cosy and private. In this one, though, you'd want to consider that the door is at the breakfast bar--but nothing's perfect.

    • @ba8501
      @ba8501 4 года назад +5

      @@bjmurray1842 I agree. I don't like too much light and noise. I think back-facing rooms are much cosier and more calming. I would be willing to deal with the door being by the breakfast bar in this particular apartment though. I would be the one in the kitchen the most anyway. LOL

Especially *the layout of the kitchen, with counter space on each side of the stove.* I would sleep in the room without the view, hoping it’s quieter. I could actually live in this apartment and live to tell the story.

Nice touch on adding the AC/heaters in every room (also means the landlord won't pay for the heat while you'll pay for the electricity, but ... nothing's perfect AND you can control your own heat, unlike in many places with radiators), and the kitchen is fabulous! The elephant in the room that many will overlook unless they previously lived in a unit like this. HVAC unit in every room. Tenant pays electric, so instead of just having a high electric bill in the summer for running the AC the tenant will have one in the winter too for heating the apartment.
    2nd issue. The bathroom is located by the entrance to the apartment. Meaning both roommates must cross the living room to get to the bathroom. This means during winter, every morning if that HVAC unit in the living room isn’t on they will have to walk through a cold room to get to the bathroom, then after using the bathroom, walk back through a cold room to their room to get ready for work. I lived in an apartment like this before and every morning I hated getting ready for work as I had to do walk to the front of the apartment multiple times a day just for the bathroom.
    $3000 a month for rent. But after paying electric monthly it will be more like $3100 - $3200 depending of how they set the thermostat in each room.

    • @CashJordan
      @CashJordan  4 года назад

    I love it when RUclipsrs say it only takes you this amount of time to get into the city when referring to Manhattan although it’s not said so much as it’s implied. What has to be stressed but understood is that Manhattan is only part of the city, the city is 5 boroughs. I suppose perhaps if you work in Manhattan, that the most attractive spot would be a borough that’s in distance of Manhattan. Although not thoroughly talked about, that would actually be the Bronx.

I can buy a 450,000 dollar house outside Atlanta with at least 5 or more acres, a barn with some kind of water on the land, sometimes a pool and pay less (with taxes and insurance) for my mortgage per month. I know, Atlanta, not New York. Good apartment Cash.

    Very nice apartment. Although the killer for me would be no washer and dryer in the unit. Also no tub, I love to take hot baths in the winter.

    really nice one , for the area , besides being brandnew , maybe slightly overpriced , but everything looked really nice , specially the bathroom with that lil window , i once lived in an apartment with an inner bathroom without a window , thats so annoying getting all the steam out after a shower , of course there was a vent but still pretty annoying and btw , is it meant like that that the fire escape is pretty much your balcony , just climbing out of the window ?

    LOVE!! For $3,000 a month might as well keep it to myself. One bedroom an office. The other my bedroom. Sleeper sofa in the living room. (Don't want guests staying longer than the weekend.) A European fridge would make this apartment perfection for me. I despise a freezer on the top combo. I don't freeze anything. I like my food @ eye level. I never knew Astoria was 30 mins from Manhattan. For some reason I thgt it was near Yonkers or Albany. Geography is not my friend.
