FIFA needs to be updated more, gameplay needs fixing where it's more fun and we actually want to use cards we pack.
Content wise SO much needs improving, it has to feel constantly that there's something to aim for. Right now what's the point of going on FIFA? Nothing really in the week to keep us on FUT, SBC's get repetitive and we need more to grind for like FIFA Mobile does.
A LOT to improve with Ultimate Team to make it more fun to watch also, hype isn't great right now.
Too much focus on Pro FIFA when 0.1111111% of FIFA players in the World are pro players.
Totally agree with you Matt. So much problems need to be fixed. Even Need for Speed: Most Wanted had so much errors for me and my friends. There was litteraly disconnection in the game as well. I litteraly get kicked out from disconnection when I was in a private game mode with my friends! And that game was made in 2012. WE'RE IN 2018!!!

Notice how the only reasoning for FIFA dieing was because of online... Boy I've been playing FIFA offline for years, although TBH FIFA 16 was the last good game. 17 and 18 on the Frostbite engine is impossible to edit and make realistic. 16 was the last game that allowed you to make it realistic, therefor, I've used 16 and manual editing to update the squads every year.

UPDATE: EA actually has the Champion's League licence now, and they will be focusing on the gameplay more.

I would disagree with that, people blame price ranges but the real problem was coin buying. If you get 500k coins what would you do? Try to get that sweaty 89 Reus or buy a pack? The market would crash simply because there are no people packing the players to then auction them as they are focused on directly buying the player

For the PC version, it's literally just downloading a file and dropping it in a folder to fix all that.
The game play is wonderful but the online community is small and their servers aren't great either meaning you get a lot of lag but as an old school gaming experience, Vs Com or 2-player modes offline are still a lot of fun.
As long as you're not on Xbox one you can find some patch easily
Rudy Sanchez I have a PS4 and all my teams have licensings on PES. The EDIT mode on PES is so complete. There are people out there who put up a lot of effort. The fact that PES has the original CL and EuroL makes it even better. All you need is a PenUSB.

Completely agree with you. If executed properly it is the most fun game mode on FIFA but there are other fun modes that with a bit of work can be turned into interesting ones that give Ultimate Team a run for its money it's just that EA are reluctant to do that cause it won't make them as much money. I wonder if there's a FIFA PC modding community out there, that is what can rival Ultimate Team in terms of popularity

Actually I think the soundtracks are still good it’s just that FIFA 13-14 were like 9.5/10 and the recent games I give them an 8/10, but overall great selections are put in.

Gameplay is shocking at times. Passes not going where you’re aiming, defenders not tackling, laggy or unhelpful player switches, momentum is definitely a thing as well. Every time I score on UT, the opposition scores immediately after from kick off...

*_Pro clubs_* needs to be taken seriously by EA. The game mode has so much potential but hasn't had any real game changing updates since Fifa 11.
The only changes - *1)* Taking away accomplishments and replacing it with random stat increases after games *2)* Ability to boost your own sats using skill points *3)* Creating you own badge/kit 4) Few new haircuts/accessories - That's about it.
Other poor changes - *1)* Change drop-in games from being 11v11 to 5v5 *2)* Remove the feature to select a team kit in drop-in matches *3)* Zero updates to the computer players intelligence

Id settle for only being able to call for the ball if your in earshot of the Ai as well or even better, decent Ai that only passes when you've created space or made decent runs.

I agree with you that they only care about FUT cause of the pro scene, FIFA points, and interaction with players. However, they still do charge $60 for the game each year so they make plenty of money off the game already. There really isn’t any excuse for them to copy and paste the game mode each year and to have not made any major changes or fix the glitches

In one game you’ll be able to pass around and break through your opponents defense, then in the next game, it will be nearly impossible to connect a through ball or a 1-2. Same will happen for you own defense and goalkeeper too. One game they are gods, next game they are Sunday league

From fifa 09 through to fifa 15, it was the greatest game I had, I would play every single day without fail, it was fun and you enjoyed playing the game, not only on ut but on career mode as well, then I started playing fifa 16 and I never fell in love the same, fifa 17 was so dull and frustrating I didn't even buy 18, is had enough of 2 years of frustration so I played 18 at my mates to see if I would get it, to this day I don't regret my decision, so glad I put that 45 quid elsewhere instead of on that, another thing that killed fifa on career mode was introducing objectives, so I'm top of the league at West Brom in my first season but my rating is going down as I don't lower wages? And am on the verge of getting sacked? Wtaf, I'm top with West Brom after spending 10 mil and about 80k in wages, that was the moment fifa went from dying to dead for me
You're spot on. I played FIFA consistently from the 2002 FIFA WC game up until FIFA 15. I haven't been able to play FIFA/EAFC properly since. Though Ultimate Team started as a fun concept, it was the beginning of the end for FIFA as EA became obsessed with microtransactions. Therefore, the gameplay and manager/career mode suffered. RIP FIFA.

I feel like my players automatically get worse when playing against icons.
Icons should be better than normal cards but normal players should still be able to utilize their strengths like pace (for example Martial), shooting and physical strength (for example Kane), etc. Generally Icons are more complete players stats-wise and the gameplay should illustrate that, so I don't want Icons to be nerfed, I just want every card to live up to their stats then it's up to the player to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their team and adjust their tactics accordingly

Imo FIFA died after FIFA 15. EA tried to make the game too realistic and graphically pleasing. This worked but zapped the fun out of it. You can't do any mad goals, any funny glitches, use op players. Now for me, FIFA is just dull and repetitive. It's effort to play. The only Fut gamemode I enjoy is Fut draft as you get to make an op team based on your own decisions. Another thing that ruined the game is the removal of trading. I, on FIFA 12 on the PS3, remember giving my friend a bronze 69 rated card for Ronaldo as I beat him in a game. That was a fun time. It's almost impossible to sell your friends cards for cheap now and it's impossible to pick up gold rare cards for next to nothing to start your team off. Price ranges wasn't the end as it did kind of balance the game out. All in all, FIFA died because EA are to greedy, make the game pay2win and don't listen to their fans. I hope EA fix this and make FIFA enjoyable again. For now, my rant is over

I remember price ranges man, I was just watching the FA cup and they added it. I didn't really care until I couldn't sell my 93 Robben for the 5 mil I paid, eventually sold him for 600k and although I played the rest of FIFA 15 cause I had lots of coins it's never been the same since. I like SBCs but now I can just never invest as much time into it as I used too, I for whatever reason I don't enjoy it.

simulation to arcade killed the game! FIFA 15 was the worst football game I ever played. Pace was even more OP and dribbling and nonsense skill moves were just ridiculus, it was a racing game more than a football game. FIFA 10 to 14 were the best FIFAs.
My problem with it is that Ultimate team is way too competitive now. I tend to go to regular head to head online seasons just because I find it a lot more casual and fun.
I still play fifa 15 and it's great. When price ranges were added I quit FUT. Never even used money in that. I still continued career mode, quick play and other game modes.

I started in Fifa 15 but I played all the fifas from Fifa 11 to Fifa 14 in my friend houses.
They were so much more enjoyable. Back in fifa 11 I watched a bunch of RUclipsrs like ksi play ultimate team and I wanted to play it too. Unfortunately I started in Fifa 15 and I realised something is wrong with the game. (price ranges) I was completely pissed after waiting all these years. In Fifa 17 that frostbite engine was revolutionary to me but in Fifa 18 I just lost my interest and even pes gameplay is more enjoyable now
(just the gameplay) I've experienced a bunch of glitches and hacks throughout my playing Fifa thing. I really don't care about the game modes anymore I just want the old enjoyable gameplay back in the days. I also want price ranges to be removed. Not just that but even the soundtracks are terrible. Fifa 14 had the best soundtrack. So I hope Fifa 19 is gonna be the Fifa which fixes everithing.

Yes about the gameplay changing, I feel anxious when I start the next game after winning because I know scripting exists and when I go down 1-0 the game just feels much slower for me

When they changed the pass calibration. That hard close pass is the worst. I could press the pass to 3 bars and the player still pass close
Fifa 13 and Fifa 12 were fun. I'm in division 1 on Fifa 18 but I've given up at this point. Fut champs is a chore and not fun. I've moved to pes. The stadiums are much nicer and gameplay feels better. Master league embarrasses career mode. The only thing holding it back is licensing. If pes had licensing it could overtake Fifa but ea are safe for now as on pes there are 2 premier league teams fully licensed

Covered it perfectly, played FIFA when I was young and then played FIFA 10-17 every year and I just got tired of the shittier gameplay year after year, the golden years from 11-15 were great even on the older systems so much more fun than nowadays where it doesn’t even feel like FIFA anymore when you actually play, like a watered down slower version of it. The shooting just ended it for me I used to be able to snipe from far outside the box and all that was taken away, not to mention Ultimate team became a mode where unless you emptied your bank account until you pulled great players you weren’t gonna find any. Makes me sad I really enjoyed those days playing online and against my friends.

Just a serious question not many people think about. What if fifa gets cancelled, like it doesn't carry on, what would happen to millions of people's lives? Or would it carry on forever
DARKCRUSADER 089 usually when a series (for example FIFA) will ever discontinue, it's because the series has completely lost its fanbase. So if FIFA does end, more or less it'll affect no one. FIFA will most likely never end any time soon as there will always be at least a somewhat big enough fanbase for it to keep going for a long time.
It wouldn’t affect anyone’s ‘lives’ but people will still remember the game for what it was good for (Fifa 11-15)
REUBENAVFC regarding improvig the game, I think it would be the opposite. Why wpuld you have any motivation to improve your game if there isn's any competition. Look at the basketball games & the 2k franchise. Their competitors, NBA Live, got so bad they actually didn't even make a 2017 version. This made 2k the only bball game, & the community agrees 2k17 & 2k18 are two of the worst 2k's in recent memory
Well a new game comes out every year so you could backtrack fifa games. Some of them are more fun then the newer ones. As long as fifa does continue their servers.. But if not then you could still play career mode or just a normal team

FIFA 15 was the last great FIFA game. 16-18 is crap and is shameful on Fifa's part.
