You and your wife are great on this podcast. Keep going. Speaking right into the issues the church is facing. People confuse civil religion with being the true organic church of the LORD Jesus. Swearing on the Bible after an inaugural sermon, etc. All civil acts that don't point to any real Christianity just like voting doesn't. Joseph and Mary went back to Bethlehem when Augustus had a census to pay the tax. Jesus got the temple tax out of the mouth of a fish. Christians aren't blind to the responsibilites or even ignorant of the systems, but we understand that we belong to another Kingdom as Jesus said: "My kingdom is not of this world."
Being the authentic church also means that we are the “Called out ones” just as Noah was called out from his family and traditions, and Abraham after that, and the many whom God used to achieve his Glorious will. Many of us, and I believe you as well brother, are being called out of the 501c church to be apart of the Lord’s Living breathing and timeless church. God bless you and your family brother.
This likewise is something I've observed and been very troubled by. It is not just the prophetic voice but the very essence of the mission Jesus gave unto the church. That being to make disciples of all nations. In America that is being flipped entirely on its head where now the mission is to "save" America and "make it great again." I am no student of history but do know enough to realize that American never was "great" and there never was a golden era. What is more troubling is the ecumenical spirit which is creating a pseudo Christian unity that the papacy has been laboring to achieve for many hundreds of years. But too many are blinded by the prospect of a DJT presidency to see how leavened they have become and how they are being moved away from Biblical truth to compromise and heresy.
Jesus tells the story of the master giving talents before leaving (travelling) on the trip, in Matthew 25:14-30. Perhaps the one talent given could be seen as a vote. Not everyone has this opportunity. Maybe someday we have to stand before God and give account on this one opportunity and what we did with it. There is no party, in any country, that has it all right, but there is one party that has it more right then the rest.
Hello Krista, Have you ever wondered why this one act is so important? An act that is not directly connected to the outcome we desire. Our vote represents the potential for change not change itself. There are people who have lived their entire life fighting for many of the things on the ballot on both sides and choose to not vote. You mean to tell me if they don’t vote they may be judged by God? If this is true we’re in trouble.
@@churchdropout Mine or anyone's act of obedience is also not connected to the outcome. I believe that we have been given many talents and they do not have to be monetary. I have the faith to vote for a party that most resembles Christ's teachings. Does that mean that I think or know that said party follows biblical principles? Not at all. In fact, our culture shows just the opposite of elected parties. I was merely suggesting that perhaps our vote is that one talent that God has given us. I have no clue whether I will be judged for it or not, but one thing is certain, I have fallen far from the mark as have most Christians of being hands on when it comes to shaping political outcomes. I don' t recall the last time that I've signed any petition (or sent a letter to government), as an example, that marks my name down and gives a voice against abortion. Freedom of express is a talent........
@ i feel you and see what your saying Sis. But if a vote is a Talent used for God then the person who chooses to not vote is what? The unfaithful servant who is thrown out? That person can affect those same issues in a different way would be called unfaithful in this view. Thats my only point. If one chooses to vote that’s great but that’s not a symbol of faithfulness or righteousness in the kingdom nor is it a misuse or use of one one’s talent. This is my problem with the way we Christians have treated the American political system. We have found a way to synchronize our American liberties with Christian liberties and thereby condemn brothers and sisters because of a vote (not saying you). That’s not the Kingdom and America is not the kingdom. The parable of the talents is speaking of the Christs Kingdom. If we read Matthew 25 it’s referring to how followers of Jesus do justice and mercy directly connected to the outcome. Feeding, clothing, visiting, etc. I think you hit the nail on the head at the end with what I feel is one of the greatest issues we face. Christians give voice on issues for the government to do our bidding. We shouldn’t write the government or sign petitions we should do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with God. Make disciples. What could the Church do if we would BE salt and light.
@@churchdropout If a vote is a talent and a person chooses not to use that talent, then they will have to give an account, if asked to do so. When a believer gives an account, I do not believe their salvation is in question, hence they will not be thrown out. Perhaps though, they may miss out on a reward of some sort. All I know, is that God knew me before I was ever formed in the womb and he saw fit to place me on a continent where I do have the right to vote. Someone else does not have this talent but they have something else that perhaps I do not. The person that chooses a different route and not vote is not unfaithful to me. They answer to God, not me, and I would never condemn another for choosing not to vote and try to make a difference their way. You said, "we should do justice". Is justice not speaking for one's that cannot speak for themselves? Being salt and light is using every gift given by God to bring him glory and honor. I thank you for conversing with me on this topic of talents.
@ of course. This is how we build each other up! Absolutely doing Justice is definitely speaking for those who cannot. Somehow believe the best way to do this is by casting a vote. Why not enter those communities (the same way Jesus enters ours) where these things are happening and actually talking to the people of are choosing to make those decisions is all I’m saying. Reach the before they even reach the clinic. The gospel lived out in the kingdom remedies all of this. It’s interesting we see no where in scripture, Jesus or any of the apostles trying change Roman law. That’s not the point of the faith. The gospel aims to change at the root. Changed hearts change the world. We have been commanded to make disciples. This will change every issue we face on every ballot in every city. Why not focus on this holistically.
I personally think the voice and the music in the background is distracting. I'm here to listen to your Christian views, not singing music in the background. Just yours and your guests voices work fine.
In the end he lack holiness. We lack individual repentance and leadership repentance. To wake up is to repent of our fleshly thinking and living. Our desire to draw close to God is whats missing. 1st century church faced the lions!! Where did that courage come from??
I agree I think that we have lost our way in so many ways. What if we relayed to people how much God has done or us and some how people would turn away from wrong because of who Christ is and because we were sorry and repentant... Don't get me wrong I believe the we need laws and governace but I just believe yes in these days it seems like a big task but together we can live the gospel and tell people about the Love this Jesus has extended to us and may be we can turn this ship around not Just in America but around the world....Acts 19:26-27 And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods. 27 And there is danger not only that this trade of ours may come into disrepute but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis may be counted as nothing, and that she may even be deposed from her magnificence, she whom all Asia and the world worship.”

Good word. I’m going to have to look into that temple tax out of the fish. Great point.

Preach it bro. Good teaching and sermonette.
Appreciate you.

I agree. The scripture says, even the very elect will be deceived.

Good message recommend that you drop the voice in the background just music thanks

You hit the nail on the head. Why is there a drastic difference with the early not only n practice but attitude? Thats the question.

Absolutely true.
It sounds like you are talking about Evangelicalism not Christianity.
True.
