Earlier companies used to outsource tasks now they want to outsource R&D as Human resource cost is the most expensive thing for a company and in order to increase their profit they can only cutback on the human cost. Many mechanical companies have established their "tech centres' in India and i think many more will come in the future. We work more hours for lesser pay. I recently moved to the US and the work culture is very different. work-life balance, hobbies, vacations are great for an employee but i believe the employers hate this. These are just going to be intellectual sweat-shops.
Infact compaies have been moving these jobs to India even Befefore 2000. MS, Googe, Oracle, Nokia, Motorola etc all had their tech centers in India even before 2000. Those were called IDC\GDC (India\Global Development Center). Now a new term is coined GCC.
Not to worry, By the time, Govt takes any interest in GCC, it will be obsolete. Plus, GCC is just a new terminology used to make it popular and raise more fund (instead of research center, RnD, etc.). After while, There will be new term. If you want to stay earning, then core skills and appetite to learn are 2 best things. Core skills provide the strength to understand anything and Appetite to learn provide wisdom to fight the change.
GCC in nutshell reminds me of call centre, service based cheap human resource. Hype for redundant jobs yet will help Indian workers to keep contributing and keep bringing funds from rich nations. As a student of BCA 2nd year i would say that most of the college does not help you in building your skills which you will need to land a job. As a student who have interest in coding I'm learning programming through RUclips and it is way better than college. So I would say that Skills are more important than any Degree
I am also a BCA second year student. If I do coding from RUclips in my college lab, they throw me out of the lab. And the college people are there only to complete the syllabus.

GCC's are being spoken now about as if new gold has been explored in rest of the country but they have existed for many years in a city like Bangalore now and their numbers have only been increasing of late. All things aside I want to talk about scaler. I recently join scaler master class. it is free class offered by scaler in which they talked about one specific topic. I already knew that topic but i still joined. there content was very low. they were talking about like we will discuss Amazon level problem but end up using just name of amazon in simple programming problem. There fees is also very high. I simply recommend you to watch local centers located in hyderabad, gurgaon banglore, they offer same or maybe much good at much lower price. I am not demoting Scaler, maybe it is good for paid ones, no doubt. But I just wanted to share my experience. And I feel like Scaler as Lays packet. too much branding, less content but more Air.
There is also influence of COVID for low packages in iits. See, in online mode the pressure was not much creating engineers who have no skills. I believe the situation will change again in 4 to 5years

All things aside I want to talk about scaler. I recently join scaler master class. it is free class offered by scaler in which they talked about one specific topic. I already knew that topic but i still joined. there content was very low. they were talking about like we will discuss Amazon level problem but end up using just name of amazon in simple programming problem. There fees is also very high. I simply recommend you to watch local centers located in hyderabad, gurgaon banglore, they offer same or maybe much good at much lower price. I am not demoting Scaler, maybe it is good for paid ones, no doubt. But I just wanted to share my experience. And I feel like Scaler as Lays packet. too much branding, less content but more Air.
