which hair mask best for brunest with brassy?

  • @genyg93
    @genyg93 8 лет назад +117

    It works!
I wanted to take the time to leave a review because this was absolute magic.💫
So... I have natural dark brown hair but I went 2 shades lighter a couple of months ago ( still a dark brown ) all over. Recently I went to the hair salon and asked for balayage highlights.💁🏻The hair stylist just started doing the highlights over my dyed dark brown. The end result ORANGE AF🙅🏻 !! It looked so bad .. I found this video and gave it try because I tried a toner on a test strand and it did nothing👎🏻. So with the titanium Semi-permanent dye(ion brand), I did a test strand with NO CONDITIONER (since my hair is very brassy and dark brown) and left it on for 10mins and it did nothing🙍🏻 , so I kept it on longer and tada it worked. I then applied the whole titanium semi permanent dye NO CONDITIONER to my entire head ( including my virgin roots ) FOR ABOUT 40 mins and wala☝🏻️👀 it worked. No more tiger stripes in my hurr 💁🏻 Thankkkkk you ! ❤️

Hey Jess! Let me start by saying I NEVER comment on videos. The comment section can be a scary place:) However, this time I felt like I had to say thank you! You totally saved my hair! My original color is somewhere between blonde and light brown, that awkward color that you wanna add a kick to but always turns brassy .. Therefore regular toners don't work, highlights turn yellow, and getting an ashy "gloss" at the hairdresser (while not doing a whole lot) costs a fortune. But never again - your method worked like magic. It was easy, quick, and took out all brassy, orange tones without frying my hair or turning it into a completely different color. I did 1 part dye + 2 part conditioner and left it on for about 8-10 minutes. Again, thank you!! This was super helpful!

Awesome video, just what I was looking for. And you're right - all the videos are for really light blonde. I just got my medium blonde baleyage done on my otherwise very light and ashy hair and the roots are a bit brassy, I don't like the contrast to the ashy ends, so now I know how to save them, thanks! Thumbs up!

Thank you so much for this video! I know plenty of others have already said it, but this truly saved my hair. I've struggled with red tones and brassiness for years as a result of dying my hair and bleaching it. I had bad results today with a "medium Ash brown - anti-brass" dye that turned my natural roots a yellow-orange color. I was devastated. I ran over to Sally's and bought all 3 tubes of Ion Semi Permanent Titanium dye. Now my whole head of hair looks as close to my natural color as I could remember. Thanks again! Now I just have to figure out how often I'll have to keep up on it! 😅💖

Oh my goodness!! My sisters hair pulls really really red. I didn’t want to bleach all the color out and damage her hair. She went to the salon to get her natural color and she came back with almost black cherry hair. She is a very pale girl. Her natural color is not almost black cherry. I got it to the level that is her natural color but no ash dye would get the brassy red out. Thank you for this trick her hair looks like a super model now💕💕💕

THANK YOU! This has literally saved me a whole bunch of money and time making mistakes like I have in the past! Worked perfectly to cut the brass out of my hair. It was a very, very strawberry blonde which is not what I was going for when I had my hair done. One pass with this (I used Ion Titanium as it was the only one available at Sally's) and it made my hair a darker, sandier dark blonde which was exactly what I was going for as I wanted my roots to be closer to my natural colour and this did the trick! I will definitely keep doing this! You are a life-saver!

Thank you so much for sharing this! I have very dark brown hair that's colored with a medium ash blonde with 30 volume developer, and ALWAYS end up with brassy tones. Ash toners once left my hair with a green cast, and other times did very very little to tone out the orange. This suggestion was very effective, and I believe that the next application will be even more dramatic. So happy!

This ACTUALLY WORKS! After an 'orange incident' (unavoidable after trying to go a bit darker from platinum) this has really helped to tone down the horrible brassy colour and I now have something much more acceptable that I can confidently grow out without looking awful. Thank you so much for posting this - it really has helped me!

YOU ARE GENIUS! Let me just say I've lightened my hair to a 7, 8, 10 level. I'm naturally a level 2-3 I pull red and orange . I could NOT get rid of brass off the orange/yellow color. For the past 3 weeks, I've toned with Wella, Redken Shades EQ, Guy Tangs Pravana Chromasilk Tones which all did nothing to my Orange, but It got my level 8-10 perfect ashy beige, but my level at the root to level 6-7 was still Gold and I did NOT want gold tones. I wanted a Sandy Blonde, and THIS worked perfectly!! There is no Silver at all. It's beautiful natural sandy blonde. I love it! Thank you so much, it'll be replacing all my Violet/Blue toners which were all a Waste of time. xx 🙏🏼🙌🏼😁

Thank you for answering the conditioner question because that is what I really needed to understand. Do I understand that you used 1/8 ounce or .125 ounce or did you use 8 oz of Titanium and for the 1 oz conditioner? Thank you again. Sorry if I am daft but I wanted to be sure!

    • @ChasingChubbyRainbows
      @ChasingChubbyRainbows 8 лет назад +19

+Winona Johnson I think this question was for Simone else, but I wanted to give my input anyway, You can never go wrong with more conditioner. Start out with less Titanium cause you can always increase it since it's just tinting the hair. I personally started with 1 part titanium to 2 parts conditioner. I would increase the conditioner amount if your hair is lighter than levels 6 or 7. The more porous the hair is, the more titanium it'll pull.

Hi guys, i just tried this and it worked well. My hair is naturally light and its been dyed at the hairdresser to about a 7 i think?
It became really brassy in Melbourne's 'forever iso' and i was desperate to get rid of some of that orange tone. I used the entire bottle and did not dilute it with conditioner. I left it on for about 40 mins then rinsed/shampoo-d it out. It removed about 90% of the brassiness. I cant work out how to include before/after pics, sorry ... overall i'm really happy with the result! Its now much more of an ash brunette. It didn't darken my hair, it just took most of the orange tones away.

    OMG! Worked for me!
For the last 5 years I've been battling dyed light to medium-brown hair turning orange and brassy. Every stylist I went to just wanted to re-dye it and....it would fade to orange again in a few weeks. In fact, the latest stylist I'm paying is supposedly a Joico trainer. I left her salon last week just as brassy as when I got there.
I used the titanium this morning and it is now a beautiful ashy color, even in the bright afternoon sun. I was worried that the color would be too dark or muddy, especially on the ends, but it is perfect. I'm curious to see how long the color lasts, but I'd rather do it myself every 2-3 weeks than be orange or pay a stylist to do it every 3 weeks. Thank you Jess!

@@SaraSa-gm2ig I mixed it with conditioner and left it on for about 20 minutes. I found that I wasn't very good at getting it even in my hair, so got away from using it. Some areas got more color than others. But since I'm still brassy, maybe I need to start using it again.

  • @JMKhodayari

It works for medium to dark brown hair that was bleached from Virgin black hair. my hair is extremely brassy since I'm only lifted 2-3 levels from my natural black color. I used two undiluted tubes of Ion Titanium semi-permananet color for my medium length hair. I first shampooed my hair to remove any oil or silicone buildup and dried it. Do not condition just yet! Make sure you work it into the hair since this is a thick icing consistency and you must apply it to dry hair. It's a little tough but worth the outcome. I left in in my hair wrapped in saran wrap for 40 minutes (30 of which I had my at-home heat cap on which I attach to my hair dryer). I then rinsed it out and conditioned my hair as usual. Brass is gone and hair looks about one level darker but it is worth getting rid of those nasty red tones.

OMG! Thank you for this video! I was touching up my own hair (it’s a light soft brown) and accidentally wound up with fiery orange-red roots!! I‘ve dyed my own hair monthly for ages and have never had a problem before. I saw your video and rushed to the only place still open at this hour (Walmart) and found a semipermanent gray-blue color, figured I give that a shot. I mixed up the 2 parts conditioner with 1 part color as you had suggested, put it on my roots for 10 minutes, then pulled a little through towards the ends (like highlights, but for blending) and let that set for another 5 minuets. When I finally I rinsed the gray-blue dye out, my fiery roots were gone! Yay!!

Okay first things first… THIS IS AMAZING 🤩 I have dark Hispanic hair and went to the salon to get a ash brown balayage, didn’t want it too orange or yellow, very subtle and natural. Then left the salon with yellow highlights (not what I asked for and the hairdresser uploaded a picture of my hair on their salon page, with captions “medium blonde balayage”, uh clearly not what I asked for) then went to Sally’s to get it toned since it was very brassy, got t18 Wella and it turned orange brown 🤮. Decided to use this and IT WORKS!!! I finally got the orange and yellow out of my hair and this is seriously magic and saved me so much money. I wonder if I can find a permanent titanium hair color cause it looks amazing. Finally got the ashy brown tone I wanted 😍 it did get a little darker but I know it will wash out, definitely looking forward to using this again!!

I'm in my 50's and have dirty blonde hair that has been coloured and this product is perfect for getting rid of any red tones while transititioning to grey. It was super easy to use. I conditioned the ends, put the colour all over and my hair and left it on about 7 minutes. I'm impressed with the results. It brightened everything without making my hair obviously "grey". I was medium dark brown auburn and wanted to tone down the copper tone without dying my hair with permanent color so i tried this method. After doing a test on some pieces of hair close to my neck i decieded to put the Titannium dye as is (no conditioner) and left it on for around 30 minutes. IT WORKS!! Ok the reddish color is like 80% less visible, it still shows especially in the sun... but the result is still very nice. Note: my hair ended up beigng a tiny bit darker.

I just spent $50+ on the shampoo & conditioner after getting my hair lightened by a professional & I realize my hair is going to be dryer from getting it lightened, but as far as the purple shampoo actually working, does it actually make a difference? Thank you so much for this video! I never thought I could go to a dark blond/light brown b/c my super ashy extra dark flat blond hair pulls orange even from colors that are darker but brighter! I had to do the two step process and then the darker color washes out in less than a week and it's still orange! If this works - and I believe it will - I can go the darker-but-brighter route that I want to. This advice is very much appreciated and it looks like I'm not the only one who feels this way - thanks a million!!

This was so helpful! I have medium brown hair at the moment and i my hair started turning really orange after a while. I used Joico Color Intensity Sapphire Blue with conditioner and it gave me a really nice ash brown colour.

Thanks for this! I have brown-mahogany hair with brassy undertones and did one part conditioner and one part dye. I left it on for about an hour and it worked. I've also seen other alternatives using Manic Panic's blue dye with conditioner and that seems to work better for darker hair. I may try those later. :-)

This WORKED. Hallelujah! I have medium brown hair with highlights and it's all been way too brassy/orange-y. The T14 or T18 toners do not work. I've used Ion ash dyes in the past with some good results, but the last time had more of the "green effect". SO, ladies, if you have brown hair -- this is worth trying. I paid $5.50 for the Ion Titanium Dye at Sally's and with hair above my shoulders, I used the whole tube, mixing in conditioner 1:1 and left it on a full hour, covering it in saran wrap. It was perfect. Note: my hair came out at least a level darker, but seriously, I'll take it compared to brassy hair.

I tried this! I have black half asian hair. It was bleached at a salon and turned burnt-orange. Then I got white-yellow highlights all over. I used more than half the tube of Titanium dye on my whole head, just brushing through with my fingers. It didn't affect the burnt-orange TOO much, although it may have tinted it a little more brown. But it did wonders on my light yellow highlights. If you look up close they look a tinge blue/green, but from far away it looks the perfect ash brown. It's tons better than what my hair used to look like in any case. If you're wondering whether to try this, I'd say go for it because since it's a semi-permanent dye it'll all wash out within a month or two anyway.

God bless you! 🙏❤️. You deserve more views and more subscribers for your valuable content. Honestly, I got my perfect light ash brown that I always wanted but the hairdressers always told me I wasn’t able to achieve that desired colour unless I bleached my entire head of hair first. Well I did it at home thanks to your help!

This is such a lifesaver! I had tried everything to get the brassiness out of my brown hair and this is the ONLY thing that helped it! I used the Ion semipermanent titanium dye and it worked fantastically. My only recommendation would be to buy two tubes instead of one if you have thick or long hair :)

This worked so well on my super brassy color. My natural color is dark brown and when my stylist tried to lighten base color to medium brown with highlights on top, my hair color went total copper. I tried redout and purple shampoo, and didn't help at all. When I need to tone again, I will mix this with the Joico clear k-pac instead of conditioner. Thanks for this video. Your hair looks great and you're just adorable!

Hi ! I just wanted to say this video was a life saver. And great quality- I actually binge watched your videos all last week. I gave myself an at home balayge of sorts last week after having one-toned platinum near white blonde hair for about four years which I also did myself at home using youtube tutorials and which I kept up myself. This tutorial helped get my roots to a more ashy shade of brown. I used Ion Color Brilliance Semi-permanent in Titanium. What I will say is that the color usingthat particular brand was a much much lighter than the grey semi-permanent you use here- more of a silvery grey- less blue/grey/black. I still diluted it and after coating my ends w conditioner, applied it. I'm redoing it again tomorrow as I still am not as ashy as I would like- but it still worked wonders and I am much happier with it! I ended up applying it and leaving it in for forty minutes before rinsing. Thanks again! I really enjoy your channel.

Hi, I know this comment is a year old but do you think this will work on a dark neutral blond #6 with a few highlights? Just had my hair done and as usual it pulled some reddish tones. I don't really want to go back and let her put an Ash on to tone it down. So time consuming!! I mean it looks kind of dark but still in the blond family and still has a reddish tint to it, which I literally HATE!!! You never said what your hair color was so I'm hoping it will work for me..thanks

I was just about to order this when I found your video. It has really good reviews on Amazon as well. Can't wait to try! My hair is naturally a medium ash brown but now that it's slightly bleached it is all kinds of orange in the sun and obviously no purple shampoo will work on this as, like you said, not all brassy is from going blonde.

Thanks for sharing. I color my mostly gray hair a dark cool/ash blond and it fades to a more brassy yellow color in a couple of weeks. I think this will work well for me. Question: Can you add another color to this titanium conditioner mix, such as a little rose or violet? Don't know if by mixing two semi-permanent colors will equal the subtle rose color I'm looking for?

I tried it and it worked! I am a fan of rich dark hair that is neither too red or too ashy. I have dark chestnut brown hair that was getting too red at the roots and crown of my hair. It gave it a warm halo affect in the sun that I did not like. I used the ion Titanium on the roots and crown, and ion Slate on middle sections and brushed thru. This was amazing :) thank you!
