I am so glad to see this revival of the founding principals being shown by people. I hope to see far more of it. This November is going to get very interesting I’m afraid. We all need to pray for our Republic and the people trying to fix it!
Definitely, all politicians should read, and our amendments. This should be mandatory for politicians and before taken any office.
Should be mandatory for everyone over the age of 16 to read! I did in high school and developed a much stronger understanding and respect for the men and families who truly gave their "all" to ensure our freedom. The freedom we can never take for granted.
Also read each January when Congress convenes.

@@monana8706 I had to have the preamble memorized in, I want to say 5th grade. That's probably about right for reading most of it. Oklahoma is putting the Biblical stuff back in school. Not really sure how I feel about that. I know it's our heritage, I'm worried the emotional triggers about it are too big right now. That kind of thing can make it backfire. I've seen it happen tons given I live here, but I prefer that over the LGBT stuff by a landslide.

Last night the neighboring town Peru had their fireworks show. I knew where they lit off the shells and mapped it just about 1.60 miles to my WSW.
The wind was blowing slowly towards me.
Soon the smell of powder arrived well ahead of the smoke.
Then it hit me, a flashback to the scene from "The Patriot" where it's nearing the end of dusk and cannon fire can be heard in the distance. Gibson identifies the size of the cannons by sound and assures the children it's far away and going the other direction.
As millions watch the awesome fireworks display and many more will only 'hear' them in the distance, remove the pretty colors and whistlers and you have the sound of war at or near your door.
Enjoy your family and celebrate our Independence. Pray that it remains at peace.

Good advice Glen, important that every American knows the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and the Declaration. The lack of knowledge goes partway towards explaining the abuse of these rights, and the lack of action from the public

The reason South Carolina and George disagreed to the anti slave issue was because of Savannah, Ga and Charleston, SC, the two most major slave trading cities on the entire east coast. Another Fun Fact: The United States of America is a federal corporation according to the U.S. government website.
That was done in 1871 because the Govt became bankrupt due to Lincoln's issuance of Green Backs ( fiat paper money) backed by nothing to pay for the Civil war . The Grant administration then had to borrow money from the Rothschild owned Bank of England but the Bank would not loan the money unless the Government was incorporated and registered in London as a Corporation. The USA was then in DEBT to the British Govt that was controlled by the Bank Of England. The USA made its debt payments and still kept growing any way. The Bank of England ( the Rothschilds) became fearful that the USA would pay off the debt and thus be free again so they engineered a soft Coup by establishing a Private Central Bank in the United States that they would control through allies ( traitors) using a STOOGE disguised as a Progressive Democrat named Woodrow Wilson who pushed through and signed the Federal Reserve Act on Xmass Eve of 1913 that effectively transferred the creation of money to a private central bank or banking cartel controlled by the Rothschilds.
Originally hailed as a banking reform act this disguised Coup transferred power over the USA to Great Britain. This also first required the income tax to be enacted in 1913 by Constitutional amendment that was also passed by nefarious means. This transfer was kept hidden from the people who now had to pay interest to the Private Central Bank in the form of income taxes. The people back then accepted this Coup because the income tax was initially imposed on the so called RICH people but was eventually spread out to every one. In addition, the currency being created by the FED ( an extension of the Rothschild Bank of England) was initially backed by Gold but over the years the percentage of gold backing was removed by a series of Stooges that were allowed to run for President until it was completely removed in 1971 by decree of Richard Nixon. Nixon out of fear that the Dollar that is really a Federal Reserve Note would rapidly deflate and lose its status as the World's reserve currency made a deal with middle eastern Oil producers to sell oil exclusively in Dollars. He knew that it would only prolong the life of the Currency now backed by nothing. That brings us to the MESS we are in today and explains why we got involved in every WAR that affected the interests of Great Britain. The enemies of the British ( Germany and Russia) became our enemies and we had to go along to support the British whom we broke away from in 1776 but were recaptured by in 1913.

Good show. We have hundreds of channels and nothing to watch. We grew up with Tom Snyder, William Buckley Jr, and Dick Cavett. Also, Larry King. While writing my novels in Death Valley, I worked in the employee dining room of a resort where we had new, flat panel TVs. We scrolled through and stopped on Glenn Beck with his chalkboard.
