Tried a few different antidepressants lately. In the past was on Fluoxetine, but recently tried venlafaxine (caused more anxiety and panic for me), bupropion (bad for me, made be kinda manic and panicky), now I am on Escitalopram. Escitalopram is ok, but I kinda long to get back on Fluoxetine, it really helped with panic attacks and made me feel more like myself, a better version of me. Side effects and interactions of Fluoxetine not ideal, but I was on a low dose (20mg). I feel that mitigates a lot of that risk. Thanks for the video.
Appreciate you sharing your experience and what has helped. Mental health issues are complex and requires the psychiatrist to look at all the biological, psychological, and social aspects of a persons life all of which are important not just the biological part
I thought Prozac had a high rate of weight gain... I guess I learned something new today I was on Prozac and I got extremely overweight. (I know everyone reacts to medicine differently)
Question, Do yourself or others in your profession talk about (or avoid) giving fluoride based drugs (prozac, luvox, Lexapro, etc) to people with hypothyroid conditions? Fluoride has the potentially to effect thyroid function.
Can fluoxetine have an influence on appetite, food preferences, taste change and weight gain or weight loss? If you are worried about loosing control over patterns of eating and keeping your body in a good shape through exercising and feeling energized, vital and good through these 2, can fluoxetine make you feel less involved in these activities? Can Duloxetine actually worsen worry about these two? Which is better for ADHD? How do you see this combination: Duloxetine + Wellbutrion Fluoxetine + Wellbutrion Low doses. 60mg +150mg or 20mg+150mg Which might be better to go through anxiety especially for eating behavior and body dysmorphia but in such way that one does not lose interest in keeping eating and exercising patterns that do not promote weight gain and body change? Where one can get enjoyment and pleasure and good feeling from these two? Thanks.
Hey, I've just been prescribed prozac and I'm currently on seroquel, there isn't much information about being on both, if you see this I'd appreciate your advice
Very hard question to answer without a full evaluation which I can't do here. If you can make the question more specific like favorite medications for bipolar, depression etc I can provide some education. If you haven't subscribed to the channel please do and spread the word about what we are doing here
This week, but I can save you some time by saying it's not my favorite and I do not use it very much. Both Luvox and paxil are last line options for me and I will explain in Mondays video
5:40 Also Mirtazapine, though not as bad as fluvoxamine from memory (it's literal 3-4 fold Mirtazapine plasma concentrations apparently lol) Bupropion apparently isn't a major issue with it, it already inhibits 2D6 itself as is and is more metabolised via 2B6, though you may need a lower dose of fluoxetine due to the extra inhibition if it's low dose fluox. If it's pretty high dose, it basically already inhibits its own metabolism anyway
While SSRIs benefited me for about 10 years, I can’t stress enough how much tapering slowly has helped reduce the dose.

I realize Prozac is an SSRI and pristiq is SSNI, however , which do you think it less likely to cause weight gain. Thanks !!!

I’m taking Fluoxetine 40 mg (Prodep) with bupropion 150 mg, for MDD and Trauma. Is it a good choice?
I also take Zopiclone with it really helps to reduce my intrusive thoughts
