    One of my favorite Billy West bits on the show. I love how Billy Mumy really gets in to it....at the start. But you can slowly hear how it changes and he gets more and more frustrated with Billy West lol

      @@Joker11297 Its ok tho, Howard has earned it. Think about it. Think about how much content this man has created, being on the air as long as he has been, doing 4 hour slots 5 days a week, 365 days a year for DECADES. The E show, the extra material, all the characters. The guy has created the biggest catalog of content in human history. As far as I'm concerned he can do whatever the F he wants.
      Thanks, Howard! 👑 King of All Media 👑

    Bill Mumy is also a very funny person, as well as a swell guy, and he is a Howard Stern fan. He wrote a comedy song with Barnes & Barnes, 'Fish Heads'. He did some vice work (with Billy West) on Ren & Stimpy, as well as narration on A&E Biography.

    Just to clear up the misconceptions and stereotypes made during the interviews.
    The character of Dr. Zachery Smith was not written to be gay nor was he a pedophile.
    Those are two separate types of people but Dr. Smith was neither gay nor a pedophile as is now perceived in our current over critical PC society This was just a simple innocent family show with no sexual innuendos implied
    Actor Jonathan Harris was an excellent dramatic serious actor and quite often played the villain as he did in the beginning of the Lost in Space TV show 1965 However from Mr. Harris' vast experience from playing the bad guy, told him in his heart that his non dimensional character would be killed off because the Evil sinister Dr. Smith wasn't relatible meaning that one couldn't sympathize nor care for him. So, on his own, Mr. Harris slowly started to add comic relief to his character as Mr. Harris loved to play "comedic villainy with Vaudeville timing " and he was subtle about it at first Mr. Irwin Allen saw what Harris was doing, changing the character that was written for him but Mr. Allen also saw that the shows' ratings were going up as kids were liking the whimpy cowardly Dr. Smith. So. Irwin Allen gave Mr. Harris creative control over the Dr. Smith character of which Mr. Harris would rewrite all the dialog of his character to make it even funnier.
    THE REASON WHY Dr. Smith was always in the company of the children was because Dr. Smith was shirking his adult responsibilities and going off on adventures with the kids and the Robot in order to avoid his responsibilities.
    ALSO the Dr. Smith character loved the children like an Uncle and he had them as an attentive audience The kids would listen to Dr. Smith regal them with countless stories about Dr. Smith's vast knowledge and experiences, giving Dr. Smith he attention he craved. Dr Smith was nothing more that a self serving opportunistic cowardly character, undependable except for his love and devotion to the children as they became family to him and he too they as well

    • @thejupiter2574
      @thejupiter2574 8 лет назад +2

      thomas brown and FU too
      The actor Jonathan Harris is dead and should be better respected and Bill Mumy hardly had a chance to even talk with out all the jokes and interruptions There are several posts just like this was referring to the Harris character as a Pedophile and IMO it's disrespectful because it goes too far. Don't give a shite if it's all in fun or not, Harris and Mumy deserved more respect.

    Billy Mumy was a fine actor. He was great in the 1 episode of DS9 he was in. Too bad they killed his character in that 1 episode. He would have been great as a regular. Oh and Angela Cartright's sister was in Alien. She was the other female character aside from sigourney weaver
