Fast pushing on Jaycee vs irelia is correct even if the wave can’t crash in time you just have to pull the enemy wave like Jaycee did. Slow pushing usually works but against irelia they’re just free Q resets
slow pushing also works against irelia in this case. she will hurt herself really bad if she wants to hold that freeze or fight in those minions so jayce can just recall either way. even with fast pushing he wasnt able to deny xp.
@@hehexd7459 im pretty sure jayce is not in the minion wave anymore when he finishes his slowpush giving irelia the option of trying to freeze the wave or just letting it crash.
@@mauer1 Nobody said anything about tanking the wave though... So much for the 5 thummbs up... She can just collect the wave undertower, back again and get in lane with the same gold as jayce (except for the kill) and a perfectly healthy wave state.
I always think I know how the first three levels go in top lane but hector just shows how advanced he is commentating all the little micro decisions he makes it's actually amazing how he called it and then pulled it off. I especially liked the part where he was bating the darius to him instead of the wave making him think he's doing something but instead benefitting his wave control
9:45, if he slow pushed. Wouldn't he be at a disadvantage, unable to crash or reset since Irelia would show up to lane before he crashes the built up slow push wave? Then Irelia just freezes and he's doomed.
Irelia wouldn't be able to freeze if Jayce is trying to crash, because Jayce would have so many more minions that he would still win a 1v1 even with his missing health, forcing Irelia to just wait for the gigawave to crash. If jayce was 1hp though, he wouldn't be able to stack a gigawave into Irelia and the best choice would be a fast push with a half-crash and be gone before she arrives. In any case, not-autopiloting is a win-win because best case scenario you make the best choice, worst-case you screw up, but you're super aware of why, because you where thinking, whereas with autopilot you don't know why anything happens, it just happens and you don't learn. That's what the video really is about.
For the first "mistake" by the garen, I would argue isn't completely a mistake. Autoing the wave for level 2 advantage is good but I do agree that he shouldn't have pushed that hard cuz he's just gonna be forced to farm on opponents side. He could just auto wave minimally just to make sure opposing wave dies first if the Kayle doesn't decide to auto the wave back. Correct me if there are flaws in this approach.
A level 2 Kayle still can't contest Garen due to the sheer difference in base stats early on. Garen wants to keep it neutral and only auto as Kayle autos, or even more correctly, he wants to try to Q trade on the Kayle whenever she goes in to last hit. If he does this correctly he can build a slow push into the Kayle and all in her under tower at level 3-4.
bro i resonate with hector on a spiritual level. the spam clicking on enemies very fast with tiny mouse movements as if he's actually doing anything other than straight up autoing.
About autopilot: autopilot itself isn't inherently the issue. If you develop good wave management habits to the point you do them automatically, that's good. This applies to many things in life.
That mindset of 'I've found the best way to do this, I don't need to change it' is exactly what causes people to stagnate and get set in their ways. Innovations are created by people who look at what's thought to be the best and find ways to make it even better. For someone who's first learning the game, just memorising some simple patterns is enough - but for anyone who wants to achieve mastery, you really should be reasoning through your decisions. The game knowledge you've gained is what every rookie player spends ages trying to acquire, so use your advantage to its fullest. There's no reason not to.
Garen autoed minion to make them die one by one rather all at the same time. You literally told about that in your Jayce vs Irelia example. Idk why Garen did 2nd auto tho.
Ranged vs Melee ranged wants to first hit because they have easier uncontested minion kills and can easily get perfect 6 and earlier lvl 2. Melee vs melee you have to be more intentional and in Garen vs Kayle, Garen needs to not push the wave into Kayle.
I would say that this strategy has helped me get a fair bit better. I'm duoing with a relatively new player to help him learn the game and i've been thinking more about matchups and communicating with my duo more about what we ought to be doing. In doing so, I've just been more thoughtful about what I'm trying to do and what my advantages or disadvantages are in a given situation. I'm now close to hitting gold for the first time and my friend is close to hitting silver for the first time. We're just low elo players, but I've noticed a difference just because I'm actively thinking about what I'm doing more.
does any1 notice that that darius is below gold elo? i mean its ok to make a guide vid on wave management but Hector is a chal player. but is it fair to make a vid of him playing in his elo so we can see what ppl do to counter him?
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
I guess I don’t have this problem (though I have plenty of others). Autopilot farming minions. Because I main support so when I get my secondary Top role I’m always careful about when to hit minions because I’m used to not having the strength to kill a minion from like 1/3 of it’s health bar. So my general play style is only last hitting.

@Offisianシ yeah, split pushing is about the only thing you *can* do in that situation, unless you're already at the point where you can singlehandedly blow up teams.
@Offisianシ I do that too but when your team is dead, the opponents takes obj as he said (unlike my team that go fetch flowers or berries in similar case) and they do it faster than you since they are a group. I recon that doesn't help me win more games.
@@yoyo80s41 it probably feels that way but playing in a lower mmr lobby than you deserve would show in your winrates. You should know your champ well enough that you can win series of games without actually running into an un winnable game. You have to really learn the nuances to your champ.
