- A flight from Lasham up to Diamond Light Source (the UK's synchrotron facility) and back again (sort of). The aerotow launch was from the club grid, which was adjacent to the competition grid for the 2024 18 m and 20 m Class Nationals. We launched early under a fairly low, ~3000', cloud base. I had a bit of a grovel to start with, after getting low on release, but found a couple of good climbs to cloud base. A bit low all the way for my ease of mind but all turned out fine by keeping as high as I could. The cloud base had increased to over 4000' by the time I was back in the vicinity of Lasham when the memory card on my GoPro became full (I must get a bigger one). I went further south and rounded the mast of Butser Hill (which sadly isn't recorded here). I'm happier with the camera mount now and I have a better forward view, with the drooping cured by really tighening the clamp and screws.
