Unfortunately not... I arrived at 6:30 and started filming a 3D video first at 7 for my second channel. Then I started filming this video at 7:30 without knowing the closing time was 8. As you can see at the end of this video, they started turning off the light. So I had no chance to enjoy myself... 😢
@VSV_Japan Alas. You did see last year, though! From my tiny experience in Japan, it seems the country closes at 8PM except bars, some restaurants and convenience stores.
@@TeirusuReynard Last year I started filming at 18:45 and I filmed only 1 video. But this year I filmed 2 versions, one for this channel and the other for my second channel. So I guess I ran out of time.
I'm curious about the festival playing the music 'Auld Lang Syne' over the loudspeakers; is there some connection to 'new beginnings' with this festival or feelings of nostalgia with this song there in Japan also? We, in English speaking countries usually only hear Auld Lang Syne at New Years and associate it with leaving things behind (the old year). Is there any similarity with that at this festival? That was another great video...thanks so much!
In Japan, this song has been played at graduation ceremonies at many schools all over Japan. It became a symbol of farewell to all of us. For this reason, even when stores are closing, they play this song. As for this video, they were playing this song to let people know that the closing time was coming soon. Also you might be surprised we play this song at the end of the year but we NEVER play this song at the beginning of the new year. So when I went to US for the first time, I felt odd when I heard it played along with the fireworks and people saying "Happy new year!" 😄😄😄
Sorry I'm not sure yet... It'd be a big fight against the heat since this year is unusually hot at the beginning of July already. I wish it was a little milder in the temperature.
