This track is phenomena! All the musicians swing like crazy - including the jazz accordion. And it's the first time I've ever heard an accordion in a "chase" with a tenor sax.......
Button accordion great sound used to "sit in" at a jazz club in La Rochelle France run by a Dutchman whose son played the bass that was in the 1950s ! Had a memorable night with a button accordionist never having seen one before !
This has to be the only time I've ever seen Gary play a 4-octave vibe. As far as I can tell, he doesn't even use the extra notes. You play the instrument that's provided, I guess.
@@wheresbicki I play vibes & piano myself. I find when I play piano now since I play mostly jazz vibes, I just stay within the 3 octaves of a Vibraphone without even thinking about it. It's possible Gary is just used to 3 octaves and doesn't really care enough to use the extra notes.
Yo, dudes This so cringy to be Moscow jazz student and to ask such things, but I need your help: Is it a Koltsov-Krutov on Double Bass? Who is the drummer? ABCDBGA to everyone here! LOL XD
I love Gary Burton on the vibes. On a side note, that accordionist gave me a new found respect for the accordion :D
THIS is no Akkordeon, its a diatonic knob Harmonica
We need jazz vibes to be more common

why would you need 4? 3 is good enough for most pieces

Justice Scalia does a super job on the squeezebox!
"Squeeze Box" 😂
Ya, too bad the "original rump-ranger" (Scalia) did not stick to this squeeze....instead of the 13 year-old boy-squeeze who took him out!
Song starts at 0:58
I wonder if the full concert is archived somewhere. Anyone know?

The drummer getting no love :( Fantastic listening and conversing with soloists. Bravo
In our german dialect we say "Nothing said is enough flattery". :)
@HijoProdigio And Van der Plas Baileo, from Netherlands, the best as all the big pros say.

Love hearing Gary walin on the vibraphone!
That’s Gary burton
@tinyherocavalry Studio49 and Yamaha too...
Looks like a 4-octave vibraphone, was it manufactured in Russia?
seriously who disliked it!?????
The musicians are way too deep far in the stage, they need to be closer to the audience!
Yo, dudes
This so cringy to be Moscow jazz student and to ask such things, but I need your help: Is it a Koltsov-Krutov on Double Bass? Who is the drummer?
ABCDBGA to everyone here! LOL XD
can someone name all those guys?
Is this the only gig GB could get in Russia?
Сделайте саксофон два раза тише
Бунтман на фоне Гальяно - шаромыжник, увлёкшийся шумовыми эффектами.
Вася, покажи им!
Color the keys black and white like a piano. Then we can all call it a zebraphone.
Соло Игоря Бутмана - 4:38
oohh interesting group. shame the audience has to be seated so far away
the sax: stan getz style...
