This is one of the most interesting knife content videos I've seen in a long time! You have a very engaging style, brother! Jonathan is the Bee's McNees as far I'm concerned so, regardless of how pimp the VECP is, I'm always gonna choose the MAC. Keep it up man, I'm glad I found your channel!
This was one of the best head-to-head comparison videos I’ve seen. I prefer the looks of the VECP, but I’ve never owned either knife….yet. Keep up the great work Chuck, I’d love to see some more like this one!
Great video. Should definitely keep up with in depth reviews and comparisons. I think your channel will grow great! I have a McNees custom Dixon I picked up on the secondary that should be here anyday can't wait!
Didn't watch yet but had a VECP, and still got the MAC2. The MAC2 is my pick, but the VECP I had was a tanto, and I'm not really a tanto guy so there is that.
I love the stonewash on my spartan pallas. It's more like the vcep. Loved the harsey stonewash also. It's more of a dull stonewash. I love them both for different reasons. Not into satin at all anymore.
I did enjoy this kinda video a lot👍👍. Ironically I have made the same decision myself. Having owned a sold a VECP and just picked up a 3.5 at Blade from the man himself. 👊
Haha nice, Dave. I appreciate the feedback. The 3.5 is a killer design and frankly, so is the vecp. I think I'll like the George Talos a little more though
There is a VECP with Magnacut too! I’m not sure if they have a flipper version but, I know that Les George made an auto version in Magnacut. That knife would be a great comparison to the McNees Mac 2 Auto in Magnacut. Personally, I consider both knives/makers as equals. However, aside from the VECP & ESV, Les George has the advantage when it comes to the more artistic side of knife making. Maybe McNees will venture off into that world as well but for now, Les’s catalog as a whole is more impressive. Regardless, I feel like McNees and Les George took the places of Hinderer, Strider, and Spartan. I think CRK, Demko, Les George, and McNees are the go to for higher end mid-techs. Whether they’re users or safe queens.
My lockbar was very tight and putting pressure on it like you described made the detent very hard to overcome. My solution was to take some bend out of the lockbar. You may want to contact McNees for advice though rather than do what I did.
Sweet vid chuck. I just got a vecp at bladeshow from les. I love it. I love all his designs. That mcnees was a killer knife too. The action was great i just couldn't get over that detent. I must of been doing it wrong.

Thanks a lot, Anthony! Comments like this keep me going. You really can't go wrong with either one.
For me hands down the vcep. Was the best washer knife action till zero tolerance 640.
Dude I won't say you're wrong. I wouldn't t mind keeping the vecp but the trade I made is for a talos so I'm not mad
Dude! Yes. The 0640 is so smooth
I haven’t paid much attention to this one but I like it
Thanks dude
Great review can't wait to get my hands on a Mac 2 3.5
Thanks man. I'm sure you'll like it.
@@chucknunface no doubt about that not to mention Jonathan is a great guy so I would like to support him

Thanks for the kind words and nice pick up. I've been a bit busy lately and haven't carved out the time for videos but I'm gearing up

Cool! Thanks for dropping the comment. The Mac 3.5 and vecp are both great.
Excellent video sir! Amazing detail and information in general! Got an instant sub from me brother!
Thanks man. I appreciate it.
2 nice knives but I prefer the blade shape and overall looks of the Les George..
Les has a great style. I'll be getting another of his for sure.
Great looking knives. I have been looking at these, but don't know much about them.
They are both pretty awesome.

I like satin sometimes. Just depends I guess.

VECP is a strong unit. Just wait till the button lock comes. I still want to try the Mcnees.
They're both pretty nice. The button lock model looks sweet
Mac 2 3.5 is my grail knife. Really want one. More so after watching. 🤘✌️👍
Thanks for checking it out. It's a really cool design.

That's a good take I hadn't thought of it like that.
@@chucknunface Thank you! It was just my unimportant two cents lol.
I have Med/Large hands and the McNees didn't feel comfortable enough for me to make that investment.
That's understandable
I have found with the Mac 2 3.5 that if I put any pressure at all on the lock bar it will not fire very very sensitive
My lockbar was very tight and putting pressure on it like you described made the detent very hard to overcome. My solution was to take some bend out of the lockbar. You may want to contact McNees for advice though rather than do what I did.
6 months late to the video, but just want to chime in. The Mac2 was the most over hyped knife I’ve gotten my hands on in 2022.
Thanks. I've felt that way about many knives as well.
@@chucknunface I go over my thoughts on the knife in this video. Check it out if you get a chance !

Nice and cute!!😊
I need to do this format again.
Sweet vid chuck. I just got a vecp at bladeshow from les. I love it. I love all his designs. That mcnees was a killer knife too. The action was great i just couldn't get over that detent. I must of been doing it wrong.
I had to flex the lockbar out a little on mine. Perfect now. I really like the vecp but I ended up trading it for a talos.
Looks like a Grayman Dua.
Which one? I've had a dua that comparison didn't come to mind.
