One of the best and more underrated youtubers about lego. LOVE your videos (Really do).
You are very kind! Thanks!
Its pronounced mod jew ler
@@damonwootton3478 Thank you!
This is really cool thanks for the tips, I have none of the modular buildings and I try to make my own
"he obviously didn't build a lego city which is why he turned to drugs" 😂
Well that went south in a hurry. 🤔

As usual, some dark stories emerge from JC's LEGO City! 😉
Just the usual everyday stories.
At first I thought ok a car accident can be morbid but still comedic and make for an interesting city then you come outta nowhere with the junkie in the dumpster lol
Glad you were entertained.
The lady on the rooftop emptying the garbage bin is my favorite. 😀
Cool! Thanks!
Your channel is so underrated. A wealth of information, clearly explained, inspiration and do-able!
Thanks! You are very sweet!
Very effective, I want to build a city, I'm currently getting all My base plates together, I have alot.
“He never build a LEGO city so he turned to drugs” JC is this some kind of threat
If you don’t want to extend the sidewalk you can use the space for car parking
8:28 😂
If you don't have the smaller baseplates or don't want to cut them, you can also push the modular buildings 4 or 6 studs onto the road plates, so they're overlapping. It minimizes the studs left on the road plates, and you'll also get an alleyway.
I’ve only recently come across your videos and they are amazing and inspirational. I like the way you’ve managed to combine smaller and larger sets, it looks very much in proportion. Great work.
Thanks so much! Welcome to Small Brick City! Glad you find value in the content!
I’ve not much room myself, so building a city can be challenging. But this helps! I’m gonna put so much details in my little city.
Always full of ideas. Instead of Hidden Side JC might make a Lego theme called the Dark Side.
It is just the regular side :-D
Me: skips ahead **sees guy doing drugs in a dumpster**
Me: well that took a dark turn fast
I am now convinced the brick bank and detectives office should be connected
That little house on the corner, it's great! To be honest, the idea of cutting up Lego plates was a shock to the system, but your setup does look like a very cool city. I'll work on getting over my shock, haha!
Haha... thanks for sharing! LEGO does technically have 8 x 16 plates from older sets. So a purist could hunt them down as I did before. But cutting plates is cheaper 🤣
Wow this is awesome! I would never thought of building a city with only 2 modular buildings! Thanks for the idea!
You are welcome!
Dam l watched this a year ago! I used to have 2 modulars and l followed your guide and over the year l developed it into a city (more of a street but l still love it)
Awesome!
As a lego city builder myself i am very impressed by your techniques keep it up!!! Look forward to watching more!!!
Thanks so much!
This is an interesting topic for discussion. I think roadplates is something that quickly takes up too much room, but I can see how they are a nice way to give a city feel to a smaller setup. Great idea. I'm not convinced on cutting plates but I agree that using smaller baseplates is a great idea to make your city more dynamic. Thanks for sharing this and keep up the good work :-)
Thanks!
Had a problem in my city of needing a 16x32 road to make up for the width of my room, but didn't have the guts to cut a road plate up
Amazing idea to join the space between both modulars with cut base. It will be functional for me in my new proyecto. Glad to watch ur video!!
Glad the video was of value! Thanks!
Excellent video, give yourself a pat on the back and two thumbs up!
Thanks for helping me get started
Ugh, you were right! You did change my city plans again and now I think I’m going back to road plates.... possibly, I’d need to do it off of Bricklink or something because I didn’t want to buy a pack of two when I only need one! Thank you so much for this video, it was really helpful!
Haha... I will find more ways to mess up your plans :D
I’m sure you will!
This city layout looks great, JC. Thank you for sharing. I love all of your videos as I only have a small area for my city. I do have one question though. Do you have instructions for the bus stop? That would be the perfect size for my city. Thank you
No I don't but I think that will make a great video which I will do in future. Thanks.
This is the only good Lego channel , good job ! Your city look so alive
Have you ever watched Alex nunes?
Thanks! But there are quite a number of great channels out there!
@@SmallBrickCity this is a underrated channel, it should have at least 500k sub

Love everything except cutting up road plates. Blasphemy!
Nah... :D
Lol
Cool city. It shows you dint need a lot of lego to have fun.
This video was perfect for starting my own LEGO city! Great job JC!
That is great to know. You are welcome and thanks!

Wow you can make anything look amazing!!!
Thanks!
After getting those 2 and starting your city, I Personally think your next one should be the Assembly Square, it look incredible and has 3 different buildings, after that, get the BookShop. Again, 2 buildings included and they both look cool
Excellent Vídeo! Thanks!
Very interesting - thank you
Very nice video! Thanks for sharing! :)
I wish I didn't miss out on that bank :(
I missed it too :(
I love it
This is great help! Thanks!!! I’ll try to start with something like this and I will add on as time goes by!
Great! Thanks!
I’ve got the police station ,downtown diner ,assembly square, corner garage 😁😁😁😁
Always Nice such a streetview video. It gave my ideas and motivated me to do such video's also. Because I have like many others no space for a City
Great!
You are soooo underrated
You are only missing a river for a man to fall into, later to be saved by the new helicopter. "HEY!"
I just rebuilt my modulars onto the road
This is a great video! I actually really like how this layout turned out :D
Cool! Thanks!
Great video love it!!!
Thanks!
Great suggestions. What do you use to cut your base plates?
Thanks! See this vid here and also read the comments as others gave great alternatives. ruclips.net/video/dljw-qHj5iE/видео.html
Very interesting, bustling mini city
I have both of these buildings, there amazing!
Cool!

Thanks.
Hahaha
Super good! 👏👏👏
Thanks!
LOL at 8:27 🤣 !! You kids better build your Lego city !!
Use darkred flat pieces for a biking way
Question on your opinion: new road plates or the old 32x32 base olates
"he didnt build a lego city, so he turned to drugs" thats a very fast downfall
Is there an ATM in the bank windows? How did you do it?
Yes, I placed two ATMs in front of the windows. I believe I removed the flower bed and some tiles. You can find my build of the ATM at: ruclips.net/video/r7UznToksfY/видео.html
Cool
6:15Where did you buy such a narrow road? Can you gve a link?
Thanks a lot for the mini house gift
You are welcome!
This is useful because I have 2 modular buildings
Great!
Small Brick City yeah
Small Brick City but sadly I have a big space but this could help other people
Cool video
Thanks!
Speaking of modulars my mom said that it'd be a great idea to get another modular to go with the one I have right now so YAY
Awesome! Congrats!
That's great! Which modulars will you have now?
Fantastic and inspiring!
8:25 Oh god this got dark fast
I guess this will work with any modular buildings along with any small buildings that you have already. As for me, I can choose among ten modulars and dozens of small buildings that I can use and I can even make it out to even three or four modulars to make it larger.
I just bought the Assembly square since it's 3 buildings in one and the Brick Bank.
Lucky you!
I wonder why there is no staraight and curve combination of road plates...

Hi how big would the finished scene be roughly?
Being new to Lego please don't blast me if the following is wrong in any way......the term "mini-fig" implies that there are larger figures? Is that the case?
Yes that is technically true. Back when LEGO first started, the figures were not mini. They only introduced the minifigs in 1978.
That sailer is probably a veteran that didnt get a job after a war
lol
What did you use to cut the base plate? Cut looks really clean
Please see the pinned comment for this video. Thanks!
Bigger than mine😢
While this is great you still need at least 8 square feet of space to make something like this. That can still be a lot of space to take up with Lego in a small apartment. And you need even more if you have Lego stored anywhere.
Challenge accepted. See this for a 6 x 2.5' area space. ruclips.net/video/y3XGPjFdIpk/видео.html
How deep is that table
nice!
Thanks!
6:08 wait that's illegal
where do you buy your bricks and plates from
Pick a Brick Wall, Lego Sets and Brick Link.
Im Very inspired now I have some new ideas for my city
Great!
I’m quite against cutting up LEGO parts, base plates, rail tracks etc.
What if you build the modular house on the actual road plate instead?
Narrower pathways next to the road seems ok as modular house itself has a pathway already.
Then have other base plates in between to create the alley? The only problem that would cause is if you have to shift the modular house.
I think it will be hard to build on the road plate. While I am against cutting most elements, I am ok with base plates and rail track as I will these are landscape foundations that can be modified. So, in my case, I would not need to make any changes in a set up like this. However, for those who are against it, I would say replace the road plates with regular base plates and tile to create custom roads as needed.
Small Brick City can create a road hump, road strips to act as a road safety measure for slowing the vehicles down in the LEGO city.
Yes, that is a good idea. 👍
Cool tips! Poor boy though I hope he just build a Lego City instead. :)
Might be too late for him.
I cant buy road plates so i might need to use grey or black paper :(
Buy cheap plastic files with a hard plastic cover. They are easy to cut but durable and will make perfect stand in road plates.
Thanks for the idea! Im going to need a lot I bought so much city vehicles and nothing else until now which i have the Brick Bank and Pet Shop.
Make a neightbourhood other than a city
Thanks for the suggestion. At this point, the channel's focus is on cities.
Hiii
902 I found small brick city minifigure
Haha I think I will make it a thing and hide my SigFig in different places for city update videos.
These two modular are the exact two mkdulars I have
Cool! Thanks!
It's a barber shop, not a hair dresser
Fair enough!
I’m turning to drugs too if I don’t have a tiny city in the next 3 months
Fire man?
Cutting plates (and bricks) is considered cheating by many AFOLs and LUGs. Just saying.

Cool i might use this as i have the pet shop and a brick bank awaiting to be built. Also that is a poor Mini Cooper :(

Anyone see his profile pic guy
Haha! Yes, that is my SigFig. Good eye!
why tf u cutting road plates
For the reason explained in the vid.
Cutting Lego should be punishable by death
Modular Buildings (official Lego sets) = No Custom City ;)
I personally think it is not just the buildings/ sets that make a city custom but the layout and how you customize and accessorize the builds. For example, when I modify a car buy adding custom rims and spoiler, it is still the same car but is considered a custom.
This guy likes everyone’s comment
not yours it seems
