looks like nicotine/smoke residual running down the bathroom wall...and I have the same curtains that are in your living room--I picked mine up at Walmart...once I hung them I didn't like them either and could not get the pattern to match up so I found a heavier set with the white backing and matching shams at a local thrift shop ... like you, my husband and I moved into a fixer up and my kitchen and bath are now at the ready to paint stage...we are still going through boxes--don't have all of my decor or pictures up and right now I am at a stand still waiting on the kitchen so I can get it organized...some days it is very overwhelming...you are coming along great and I will be watching ... maybe I will pick up some tips along the way!
Yes, I am pretty sure that is all from smoke. We had to remove all of the carpet throughout the house because of the smoke and pet smell. It is so hard to get organized and completely moved in when everything is still in boxes. Some days are very overwhelming for me. I work full time so we don't have much time to work on it during the week and it feels like our whole weekends are nothing but working on the house.
