All of Nirvana's songs are literally 4 or less cords, the simplicity of it makes it that much more beautiful, it really expresses the point of Nirvana. Just tell em how it is, don't skip around

While this song is dark it exposes messed up stuff that happens, it’s an- and I say this with great importance, an anti rape song, same as About a Girl, and Rape Me. Nirvana had a no shits given attitude when it comes to writing songs because they believed things like rape or inequality was messed up. So Polly shows how messed up it really is especially since it’s based off an actual assault that happened.

Another Excellent song lesson Mr Marty! Nirvana’s songs are simple yet amazingly effective in terms of melody, chords and progressions; it is actually the technique that is always tricky in playing them; eg jumping around with power chords consistently. But as with everything guitar, with practice, and slow practice, one finally gets it!😊

I dont play as much as i should these days but at right out of high school i joined a band of other kids my age, had some of the best times of my life, played a bunch of bar shows and some pay to play shows. We were able to play a festival called Treasure Fest after selling tickets, i actually played the same stage as bands i listened to and no matter what I'll always have those memories. I've taken both private lessons and RUclips/Fender play lessons and nothing compares to private lessons. If you find a good teacher who understands you as a player and what you're capable of, you'll go home with new fresh ideas in your mind and you'll end up learning so many new techniques off the cuff. I had a great guitar teacher and she taught me so much. These videos are kind of like a refresher for intermediate guitarists, if you know how to play by ear and see chord shapes, then these types of videos are great, but they can be a little bit confusing for newer guitarists.

The rhythm is actually a little trickier. If you listen to the recording, the second strum of the E5 chord actually falls on the "and" count of 2. Not incredibly difficult, but it can throw some people off bc it requires you to play the chord on an upstroke.
