In today's "Walking Tour" we will take a walk through Cambados, a municipality located in the Salnés region in Pontevedra, Galicia.

Curiosities:
According to some vestiges of Celtic settlements, it is believed that the town was inhabited from the 6th and 5th centuries BC and has a long history of invasion of its coasts by Phoenicians, Romans, Goths, Saracens and Normans.
It is a town surrounded by stately homes, stone streets, monuments, squares and crosses, which makes it an open-air museum declared an Asset of Cultural Interest.
It is also known for its gastronomy, highlighting its fish, seafood and its Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin wines, for which it is named the Capital of Albariño. In 2017 it was named European City of Wine.
The Tower of San Sadurniño was built during the 8th or 9th century, but it is believed that it was built on a previous tower built by Romans or Phoenicians. It witnessed numerous battles and looting. During the 15th century it was destroyed during the peasant rebellion and rebuilt and improved, including a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it became a popular place to stay and enjoy the bay. In 1755 it was damaged once again due to an earthquake; currently only its ruins remain.
