EXACTLY what I knew when this f414 deal was made, Americans won't give better offers as they're not desperate,
I think Europeans could've agreed on collaboration and 100% tot on developing an advanced turbo fan while India buys that same company's aircrafts (mrfa or transport/refuellers) and jet engines for tejas. That would be a sweet deal for us and them as well.

This is the point overlooked Safran has the greatest incentive/vested interest in a deal with India They will be getting a 5th gen engine practically at India's cost So less likely to act crooked/abandon/blackmail (apart from France being intrinsically more trustworthy More so post AUKUS backstab ;)) They will also want India to partner in FCAS The only point that remains is how to tie their (financial & engine) interests with ours A profit sharing agreement would be fine France can also source the engine (at cost or minimal cost+) for the Rafale F-5

No company will transfer their core technologies or IPR to another company or country. The only way to acquire these is to either build them up through long term investment in research, with failures on the way, or to go into a 50/50 cost and risk share development partnership with a developer/manufacturer. This is more likely to be possible with Safran or RR than GE as additional cash will effectively part fund their own development of a new engine thus reducing their unit cost and financial risk. An MOU is just an intention to talk, nothing more. Those who believe that GE will do technology or IPR transfer are dreaming and will be disappointed in the long term.

To call the memorandum of understanding between HAL and GE for manufacture of ge-414 aero engines as a DONE DEAL IS A MISNOMER ,atmost it can be described as a FEW STARTING STEPS of a journey of many miles to reach anywhere near to a destination of a done deal to manufacture ge-414 engines in India.

Ig the most important thing to consider in TOT of jet engine technology is even if we get the 'how' of making jet engines, the most important component is to know the 'why' because even if the technology is transferred to us without knowing the 'why', we can't be completely self reliant on making our state of the art jet engines in the coming future.
P.S. I'm not an defense aspirant so please correct me if im wrong.

Where and how we can use it will be controlled throughout the period of such cooperation. That's how it is. If we don't do it, we will never get the worlds most advanced and complicated tech, i.e. jet engines. Start now. Make the first important step.

Will cost about $1 billion to get 100 of the best talent in the world... Including in metallurgy which also they have a business in... With the public sector companies they are restricted with salaries and bureaucracy which is not there with the private sector

It is extremely difficult to make people understand that transfer of technology is entirely different thing that what it sounds.
But anyway this video tried to make things clear to some extent.
For example any company that allows 100% manufacturing TOT of it's own engine, will make sure that critical materials like alloys and super metals and composites are imported directly from them.
Thus, without the help of that company, we cannot make even a single engine by ourselves. Even though the entire engine is manufactured here. The alloys come in bulk from abroad. We have to heat it and create shapes as per requirement and then put in the engine. Infact the reason kaveri did not become success was because of poor material technology.
Thus we need to have our own 100% material technology as well as 100% manufacturing technology to be completely independent.
And all the talk and discussion in media is about the TOT of manufacturing part. No one talks about TOT of material part as that nobody ever offers that.
And that too all rukus is about the percentage of manufacturing technology.... 50% or 80%. Forget 100%.
Thus TOT of manufacturing technology is not that important as it has very little to do with our own indigenous effort. It will be of least significance for kaveri project. What we need is material technology for kaveri.

Spending 3 billion dollars on a drone is highly questionable. The Indian armed forces' pursuit of advanced weaponry and the enormous financial commitment involved raise concerns. The Russian-Ukrainian conflict has made it evident that there is no miraculous weapon. Quantity can indeed bridge the technology gap, and we can find affordable options in the market without compromising on quality. Unfortunately, some Indian RUclipsrs present flawed arguments by unjustly comparing our situation with that of other nations. It is important to recognize that other countries do not face adversaries like China and Pakistan, and we must consider our financial constraints as a nation. We have more cost-effective alternatives at our disposal, including drones, attack helicopters, and fighter jets. The rationale behind allocating such a significant amount of funds to wonder weapons eludes me. China's military budget of 300 billion dollars enables them to build MQ-9-type drones at a fraction of the cost. I firmly believe that a conflict with China is imminent within the next two years, and our level of preparedness is far from satisfactory.

When you concluded - “I hope information clear rahi ho”, this time around you did not quite answer your question- whether a total ToT by any company is achievable? I think the plain and simple answer is never! We have to develop our own, learn from our mistakes and progress iteratively- just as China has done. It is not just the commercial interests of these companies that prevents total ToT, but the geostrategic interests also will force their countries not to do so

Hi, was reading this article on eurasian times written by Gp Cpt TP Srivastava (Retd) with title "End Of ‘Made In India’ Dream! No Indian Fighter Jet Will Fly With Indigenous Engine Until 2100 As DRDO, HAL ‘Concede’ To GE: OPED" It is mentioned there that India is going to stop its indigenous jet engine development program and will only use GE engines till 2100. That means, we are not going to see India's truly own fighter jet in our lifetime! Curious to know your reaction on this article.

If the French win the AMCA engine design contract, the US might place follow up with sanctions vs France. In which case, the Egyptians should be roped in for 30% manufacturing. Sanctions against Egypt will mean potential loss of unrestricted passage for US warships across the Suez canal.
The Americans may be good at hitting home runs, but we need to counter that with kabaddi diplomacy.

Western Engines are incredibly reliable and have long service lives. Russian engines have reliability issues. Ask anyone in the IAF.
