Recently I reconfigured my guinea pigs cage and needed to get new coroplast because the shape was going to be different. I went to the hardware store and when I found the right aisle, I saw a bunch of yard signs on close out. What once were large yard signs for $12.99 each are now the coroplast for my new cage. I got them for FORTY CENTS EACH! (And Herman and Harriet don't mind their cage says "Drive like your kids live here" around the edges. ) :D
Julie Minot you should make it a theme with little car fleece beds and stuff, that would be so funny! like a hidey house with a little car in the driveway
Yesterday we had to bring one of my piggies on a emergency vet visit because she got pneumonia and wasnt eating her veggies and was very inactive but she got her medicine and is starting her way to recovery! Wish me and my piggy luck! 💕
Hi Scott, off topic but I wanted to share some happy news. My husband and myself love animals and we suddenly were faced with a single male guinea pig "Stout" that needed a home. He is a gorgeous silky teddybear. We also are gearing up for a big move to Fl. Our research and just knowing animals gave us a heavy heart him being alone. Funny that we found you a few days ago and watched several of your posts, bonding guinea pigs were a great interest tho we had planned on trying to find him a friend after the move. Two days ago I ran into a lady, wierd, my whole life no guinea pig exposure and I get a rescue then this lady with a few males that need a home. We took the leap and brought "Hops" home. We scurried and set up a neutral space for introduction, had treats and a towel ready, and cleaned the new home really well. It went SO well. Thanks so much, I think, haha, now I have 2 to move 600 miles ❤
That is fantastic Tammy! You took a risk but it paid off. We will be here for you and the boys if you have any questions. You can search my videos and playlists.
Recently got a pair of sweet ladies, and my friend who already had a piggy got a companion for hers. Your videos are a life saver, ive learned so much and my little Piggies are much happier for it! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
This man is so knowledgeable. I want to build a cage for my two young guineas. The cage I got is nowhere near big enough as they grow so I have a play pen they run around in all day and they just go in their cage at night. We have been planning on building our own and all the diy setups I’ve seen need wood and power tools. I can’t do that lol. Also he is super easy on the eyes and when he kisses their heads oh my goodness. 😍
You can save them people ask for them at the Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue and I do understand that some people use the connectors to make cubes for storage

I haven’t owned a pig in many...MANY years, and have no plans to get one. Yet here I am at 3am armed with the knowledge to build one a great home and no idea how I got here. Thanks! This was interesting!
the connector are pretty but are not structually sound (like a load bearing poster) :) This was great. A lot of people freak out when it comes to the coroplast and mapping it out. My first one was a disaster, had to recut. Did not allow for folds. Doh.
This was... I don't know if you realize how helpful the videos you and the rest of the LA rescue crew really are! Thank you so much for this. I bought a two story rabbit hutch for my single boy a year ago so he would have room to bond with a buddy. They bonded and have been together almost a year now. The hutch had no bottom so I used chloroplast to make a bottom. Now I am making a new bottom the right way. I’m also going to make a cage like yours, but with a cover, for an alternate cage for when I am home and can keep them safe. Though I’m not sure where I will put it yet. I have dogs that would eat my piggies, so the hutch is safer when no one’s home. Plus the hutch fits in a room that provides more people contact with the piggies. The dogs can also visit them safely. My piggies love the dogs, they just wouldn’t be safe together in the less secure C & C cage.
Thanks for this video. This helped alot. I have a Midwest cage for my guinea piggie drake but I want to go bigger and this was perfect. Going to get the supplies this weekend with my son 😁
ehhhhh I love the connectors + zip ties. especially since I have storage under the cage. But I also dont move the cage around often so they dont come undone. I also travel home once a month and the connectors are easy to use to make a temporary cage for a weekend.

Awesome video! Do you have a video or can you make a video on how to get piggies to like veggies? I just recently got two sweet girls but haven t had any luck getting them to eat anything other than pellets and hay.
So I finally got my piggies into their nicely sized C&C cages side by side since they fight. Now I have a new problem. They are both chewing the coroplast, one more than the other. Hi Scotty, I really enjoy your videos. I followed the links you provided but am not sure how many cubes I should be buying or what size of coroplastic you used.
Where can I buy the chloroplast board?
Thanks , I will sure that kind of bedding. MR
What size coroplast did you use? Thnx
Do they have to be the wire ones or can they be the plastic solid ones?
Thank you 🙂
If you send me a message to the contact page on my website, when I reply, you can send me a photo of your cage. I'm curious to see how you did
Hello, I would like to know, is it necessary to use the coroplast if I use for the bottom only carpets?
Yes Scott!💕
