- The South West Traverse is a classic ultramarathon that starts at the stunning Lizard Point and covers 45 miles of challenging coast path all the way to the iconic finish at Lands End. This route has featured on the channel in several videos but this time round we thought we'd do something different and we entered the race as a 3 man relay team. I was down to run the last challenging 15 mile leg as it is one of my favourite sections on the Cornish coast path. I'd been pretty ill for 2 weeks before the race so check out the video and see if I manage to cling on a cross that finish line!

Little tip with lamorna, that cafe has a fresh water tap on the side of it 😉
I can imagine a fair few dropped out, especially at lamorna like you say hot!!
That boggy area, I was the same with a bright orange pair of hoka tecton x, did my best but ye god it was a quagmire.
Never thought about sticking my cap in water, it's like why didn't I think of that?!
I've recced part of the Rat, that's ankle snapping territory, but it gives me a chance to sort my gear out and try some different shoes.
Have to say the medal is indeed quality.

Another great video mate, although the shots of those steps up to The Minack gave me flashbacks to the ridiculous hip adductor cramp they gave me. 😳😂

Well done buddy cracking race and video. Found Porthleven last week and it’s a beautiful place. I’m sure the Cornish miles are twice as hard as Hampshire ones.

Yet another superb video. I did a big run on the SWCP and Exmoor yesterday with some monster hills and should be resting today but, after watching this, I really want to get back out on the trails in the sunshine (it was chucking it down yesterday for my run). Keep up the good work.

Great video. Im looking forward to my next Ultra, Coast 2 Coast 50 km. From West Coast to East Coast of Northern Jutland here in Denmark 17th June. Running during a summer night, starting at the West Coast at sunset and hopefully reaching the East Coast before sunrise, great idea

Great film, you always capture the atmosphere of the events. This was my first ultra and I missed the cutoff at the Minack. I will definitely be back next year to get this done!

I need to go to Cornwall, that's for sure, awesome scenery ! And when your full review of the Salomon Pulsar Trail Pro comes out, we can be sure of some of the conditions/terrain you tested them, as sometimes I have my doubts where reviewers take all their information from, showing brand new shoes and talking about durability, wer grip, etc., Cheers Ingo
You definitely need to come to Cornwall and run on the coast path, it's incredible! There are some very suspect reviews out there unfortunately. Any reviewer that reviews a different shoe every day can not be running any decent miles in the shoes, it's impossible! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊

Good for you friend! Great video. About the Maurten mix, does it take a lot of time to mix with water or was that just me? It takes like 15 minutes of shaking to get almost all dissolved
Thanks Naim, glad you enjoyed the video. I find it mixes pretty easily, do you put the water in your bottle first and then add Maurten? I find it mixes much better and quicker if you do it that way 👍
