I messed around with the high shoulder shot for a while and the issue is if you miss by a little bit there is very little blood trail. If I am off by the same amount on a vitals shot I still get both lungs and a nice blood trail.
@@tobytate8409 it’s fairly common to make sure they are dead. A lot of people touch the barrel to their open eye. If they are alive it will blink. If the deer’s eyes are shut when you walk up on it, it’s probably still alive. After he checked it, he definitely waved the muzzle at his dad.
@@adamelam6385 fair point. When ever I get up to something i have shot I’ll just cut it’s throat straight away to bleed it. That defiantly finishes it off lol. And if the heart is still beating a little. Which sometimes it is. It forces blood out. I bleed them as soon as possible.
Nice shot. That looks like a Christian Arms Mesa. Nice guns, buddy just got a Ridgeline in 450 BM. You never feel the kick on live game only after a day at the range.
@ 4:09 I am still new on hunting and am trying to learn about the right deer to shoot. My question is, isnt the rack spread on the buck smaller than the buck ears spread on alert making it an illegal deer? Like I said am still trying to learn this stuff and I just want to inform myself By the way great shot kid. You dropped him instantly
@@poorfatman5317 Here in Texas most counties require a 13" spread. The rule of thumb is to make sure the inside of the rack is outside the ears when alert

I liked the entro shots ! clean kill ...nice posting
Outstanding!
Please teach him a bit more awareness about where he's pointing the muzzle. I'm sure the rifle was safe, but we should never assume that.
I do ask why u would dab it with the muzzle 3:43

I took my high shoulder shot on a HUGE doe this year. 130g VLD and she dropped like a rock.
