One of my biggest badges of honor in life, was when Shane Beamed me with a baseball ( 70 mph) in 5th grade during the last little league Game back in 1989. He's who you see on TV. Great family and great dude. Humble as they come
I’m so glad Hubie brown is being mentioned he is hands down my favorite commentator of all time just so spot on when he speaks and genuine commentary because other commentators give you a indication who they really wanna see win I think that’s just human nature but Hubie knows how to separate the two and also he is 90 and will be 91 September 25th 1933 is his date of birth super legend good to see him recognize and getting his flowers
DAMN as a soflo native (and Gator) this gotta be my favorite podcast, these stories coming out from the back to back years are legendary. The way the city felt during the Heatles era was like no other.
This is a stunning podcast, amazing guests and awesome hosts who don't interrupt all the time, but who only guide the conversation and add some interesting spices here and there. Also helps that the hosts are legit people, true OGs. Greetings from Romania !!!
Man these Kobe stories are amazing. Gets me a little emotional ngl. Love the podcast boys. Goran, shane, and white chocolate were my favorite guest so far if I had to choose
I've been saying that for years! Shane's defensive IQ is just different, he is like Batman with prep time. He studies behaviours, mannerism, weaknesses, and he will exploit that and set up that trap so you will commit that offensive foul.
They were so much that it got to a point I didn't even want to play with them as my favorite team cuz it would of seem like I'm just going with the best and easiest roster to win with
That Lebron "don't worry about it" is legitimately the best Lebron story I've ever heard. It shows he did have some of that "Jordan" like killer in him.
Players who have played with him say it all the time. Opponents are starting to admit it. You can't be that top tier of a player in any sport without having some psycho killer confidence and attitude. It's literally impossible. Problem is the media/fans want it to be blatantly obvious/visible. There's been a bunch of killers who weren't performative about it.
Hard to hate on Shane-O after hearing this, even as a lakers fan. I wish he had that meeting with Kobe, both loved the mental part of the game as much as anyone ever.
As a Kobe fan, that Kobe story is moving bro …there’s always a slight doubt because I think players glaze him when telling these stories because he’s passed away but hearing Shane talk about his strategy and Kobe realizing it and writing about it is amazing …rip Kobe and Gigi Mamba 24ever
I witnessed it ALL of it that I could remember , born in 96 and ima die hard lakers fan purple and gold is all I know nice try next time read with context .
Dexter Pittman closely helped me lose 150 pounds when I was 12. I was 305 and he helped me when y’all made that run that’s why I love y’all so much y’all are my dawgs
This was one of your best episodes and I’m not even a Shane Battier fan. Y’all need to have him on permanently as a third. He’s a great story teller and is a really good talker (very clear dictation).
Hated Shane only because I was hated Duke but knew he had a decent game to help a team...first full interview I've listened with him and as I figured he was a great teammate! Great stories/great session guys!
Great episode! Love Shane Battier's perspective on everything. Hated Duke with a passion because of my fondness for North Carolina. But loving Shane and JJ's perspective and meteoric rise as well.
I think it would be real cool if ya'll did a contest/drawing for the basketball that Mike holds in each episode. Signed by everybody. Would be legit af.
Pat Riley had the perfect mashup of players on those Big 3 Little 12 Rosters. High IQ players from 1-12 LBJ Wade CB Shane Miller Allen UD James Jones etc etc etc. we don’t see many teams with that caliber of player in terms of High IQ as apart of their skillset. Riley made it happen
And they say Lebron don’t have a killer mentality😏. GAME 6 BOSTON! Talk about shedding some light behind the scenes of that game, had no idea. Makes game 6 an even better story!
This is just pure, premium hoops talk..
Love Shane he’s embedded in every heat fans heart forever
The name Shane Battier can't NOT be preceded by "Heat Legend" for me now. Lol
LOVE SHANE!!!! One of the best Heat signings
What an amazing Kobe story 👏🏼 “ A game within a game within a game.”
I love when Mike says "I don't wanna steal your story, but..." and then immediately steals the story 😂😂
One of my biggest badges of honor in life, was when Shane Beamed me with a baseball ( 70 mph) in 5th grade during the last little league Game back in 1989. He's who you see on TV. Great family and great dude. Humble as they come
Shane was so important for the heat. One of my all time favorites!! Glad to see him on the show!

Shane Battier is basically Obama if he decided to go into the NBA instead of politics.
Just without the war crimes
You said it backwards
Corny but a real 🥷 at the same time
Very perceptive. Good man to imitate. 👋👋👋
Here as a Knicks fan... I appreciate this pod. Good to hear from legends no matter where. Great stories.
Welcome 🫡
As a Spurs fan that watched every game this season, Mike is totally right about Wemby. Strong and fast wings absolutely gave Wemby the most trouble.
DAMN as a soflo native (and Gator) this gotta be my favorite podcast, these stories coming out from the back to back years are legendary. The way the city felt during the Heatles era was like no other.
I've always loved HUBIE and these stories confirm it.
I love him on the telecast so much basketball knowledge

Time stamp?
I thought I heard all the great kobe stories. Shane's has got to be one of the best!
This team was so op in 2k thru 12-14
Damn mf right
It's more like a cheat code
They were so much that it got to a point I didn't even want to play with them as my favorite team cuz it would of seem like I'm just going with the best and easiest roster to win with
@@JayK07 facts I became a grizzlies fan because I could play with them like Miami without feeling like I was cheating.
The one with LeBron on the cover, he was GOD in that game. I always went against him so I felt that wrath
Man. The goosebumps. I remember every one of these moments as a Heat fan(atic)
Finally got Shane on the pod
Get ALL of the champs together for a long pod w/ some brews!
It will break records!
What a great idea
I never knew how funny Shane Battier is. Loved him as a player but even more now after seeing him on the pod lol
That Lebron "don't worry about it" is legitimately the best Lebron story I've ever heard. It shows he did have some of that "Jordan" like killer in him.
1 game in 28 years. Congrats.
Dude will never be close to MJ lol. Only dumbass zoomers think James is better than MJ. Shit, Kobe is better than James.

So good having Shane on. Such a good episode. That Hubie stories are great
These 3 were so clutch, udonis was so cold on that 15 foot baseline shot, auto bucket from that spot, Shane was a world class role player
And Mike was pure
This trio right here, such a vital core group for us Heat fans. We are forever grateful for you guys!! 💯🔥
You guys reminiscing about the good old days was awesome thanks brothers🤘🏽
Hard to hate on Shane-O after hearing this, even as a lakers fan. I wish he had that meeting with Kobe, both loved the mental part of the game as much as anyone ever.

Yes, he’s a great person to keep on the pod. Especially with him still working for the Heat as Head of the Analytic Department.
