Took a while for them to figure out that tempest with orbital scan is hella OP.
That's because they knew Thor with scan is more OP lol.
Fun fact, in nova covert ops you can see in the sewers an experiment where they try to cloak a thor, but it keeps failing and being revealed
Whoa interesting find.
That's pretty crazy. You'd think lore-wise it might work for ambush tactics, but if a Thor were to move, the noise it makes and the foot prints would give it away.

More 2v2's and 3v3's as well would be very enjoyable. Would love to see what various things high level players could pull off with different races alongside them. Also, they are certainly more intense with all the extra units involved.
The things that need to be changed when playing 2v2 should be
1) better Maps
2) improve player color.
3)allowing us to see who is passing minerals
I would enjoy a peculiar balance for multiplayer games, with à slighly different price for units and techs. 2v2 tends to reduce to PTvPT, hellions / phoenix opener. Maybe allow zergs allies to build on crée would fovor more zerg in multiplayer, and make the most op units a bit more expensive would offer more diversity to the mode

2v2 will never be good unless skytoss is drastically changed
@@MrReno888 Make Skytoss and BCs about 50% more expensive, and I think this mode gets way better. Brood lords could go up maybe 25%. The meta for all non 1v1 is rush/cheese transition into mass capital ships. It's absolutely ridiculous, but that's just how it works.
I think lowko having a co-caster for 2v2's would be awesome, would be a once in a while if scheduling permits, maybe live on twitch ? Love the video

that completely defeats the purpose :p. Honestly we need 3 vs 3 xD. All three races vs all three races xD, Serral, Clem and Showtime vs Maru, Zest and Dark.

Players who wanna participate in the tournament should place 10 or 50 or 100 bucks to participate. The winner and few places below will share the jackpot by the end. Make a poll to find out how much money the player are comfortable to place.

2 v 2 is legit the most entertaining form of SC2.
It's a damn shame that team games aren't sponsored in tournaments, especially since a lot of the Pros are on literal teams.
Imagine how sick it would be having Maru and Serral in a team game for example

I think the biggest problem for 2v2 is the space for basses. Maybe better mining and less mineral patches would be nice

The player names not matching the side of the map kept doing my head in. Even though the colours matched, having Astrea and SPeCial on the left of the overlay while they are on map right breaks my brain, especially so during battles as the direction the battles are conducted is mirrored to the overlay. So Kelaznur and MaxPax are attacking from the left, but their name plate is on the right side of screen. Is a small thing, but then again, so is my brain. I like little QOL fixes that make understanding what's going on at a glance easier.
As it turns out in 2v2 being Mr Moneybags is the way to go.
The real question is can medivacs heal zerg buildings?

Used to play mostly 2v2 back when I had SC2 installed. Still watch a lot of SC2 vids tho, I'm just too old / busy to have time to play myself lol. Keep it up!
Used to play 3v3's with my roommate as T and his former Air Force buddy playing Protoss (I played Zerg) during HotS. We weren't bad if we stuck to the plan!
Basic openers, scouting and adjusting, but usually a 6min Roach Rush from me, followed by a 3M/Tank move while I'm building to my swarm, Evan being protected by cannons and me until his armada was ready to spearhead the attack, then waves from me and Wade. Lather, rinse, repeat until victory.
Even got us laser etched pint glasses with our faction logos! But we stopped playing and never teamed back up again. Oh how I long for the days of a balanced 3-person team that was competent in their field and knew how to cover each other's weaknesses...
Just an FYI, Astrea sending gas to SpeCial at least as early as 4 mins. That's why you were so confused @LowkoTV ! lol. He was "passing gas" before you were expecting it.

Ah yes, the 2v2. Played it myself with a friend in WoL, all the way from Bronze to Masters. Sometimes frustrating, often wacky, always fun. Nice to see some 2v2 madness again.

This is how you win 2v2s, 3v3s or 4v4s. Absorb as many bases as possible and macro god. B4 when u only started with 6 workers u couldnt do it as easily but now since they changed it its much easier to to just macro god. I miss the old 6 worker start for team games made early game much more fun and complex!
In the future, you should make player colors similar for teammates. For example, pink and red VS blue and cyan. It's going to be easier for you and for the viewer.
2v2 with SpeCial is hilarious, I had a glimpse of this serie on PiG's channel and it's pretty much SpeCial yelling stuff at Astrea non stop, no casting required 😂
I wanna see a Medivac Ultralisk combo. Problem is you can't pick up your ally's units. And the heal rate of the medivac is not enough to keep the Ultralisks pumping

2v2s for me is easier than 3v3, because it's easy to manage your shit if both of you play different factions and generally leads to absolutely broken combos if both players know what they are doing. Terran + Zerg gets you near immortal Zergs thanks to Medevacs supported by superior mobile Artillery fire from Siege Tanks. Terran and Protoss nets you an almost untouchable mechanical fleet that can go from point a to point be and get their units in impossible places if they are alone.
Definitely there's a lot of potential for 2v2, though I think things move a little bit too fast for me. Maybe I just need to watch a few more games.
Archon also has a lot of potential with some insane micro, while maintaining game readability. Those games between pros are incredibly rare, sadly.
7:38 balance gets wonky- IIRC thors are pretty imba vs toss+zerg teams. edit: or maybe it just hasn't been explored enough yet!
Pro 2v2s would be great, but a viewer/community tournament would be just as good. And we'd be willing to play for free.
2v2 often just ends up either being rush or turtle fest. There needs to be some incentive to make units and move out? maybe have something to fight over. Maybe this is one area where SC2 could learn from AOE4, since that game seems to work a lot better in team and ffa games. people hunting sheep and holy sites etc.
there is actually rts game that focus more on 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4. game from company of heroes series. just dont play coh3 yet, it still in alpha...
The first-person view from Special's stream when they played against Maru and Byun was pretty funny. Pig has that on his channel.
I really think that 2v2 is super excited but too complicated to understand in a glance when the colors are so chaotic. I'd like to find a way to change the players' colors such that the teams make more sense.

I do t like 2v2 with random ally. Since my last one ended with me killing about 35 worker at 5 minute or so and my ally called gg because he had sent kings and they got killed and he spent the rest of the game killing my buildings saying I was shit at the game. I just hate how it seems like allies always give up for no reasons. The game before that one we had an intense game and then the enemy suddenly called gg destroyed 2 of his ally nexus and left when me an my ally were considering surrendering cause we dident know how to beat their army

2v2 is by far the most intresting thing to watch, so many more combos and builds then 1v1.
Lowko, is there a way for map creators to create a map 3 or 4 times the size of normal map, so pro players can play 3v3, 2v2, or 4v4 with it? That's a massive change and would definitely make SC2 more fun for the future e-sports.
It would take over a minute to move an army from one side to the other. Recall etc would become op. SC2 doesn't handle large unit counts well, so it would also be really laggy.

Wouldn't it be great to see pros go against pros in a team? I mean, 1v1 isn't really enough to satiate player base's hunger.
@@johnnhoj2391 pretty sure you don't understand what that would entail. On bigger maps you want to increase the supply not decrease it.
@@Iaotle I'm basing it on AoE's gameplay, which has the size of a map I described, there are also bigger ones as well.
I also doubt there are pros with useless PC that will lag from a 3v3 or 4v4 game like that, and some adjustment would be taken if they ever do something like that of course.
In AoE, there are much more massive maps, I know graphics are different, but if PCs can't handle it, decreasing it to 3v3 sized map or 2v2 would be good as well.
If people keep saying "It's impossible" and never learn or do anything to improve, we'll be stuck in the stone age.

It seems Astrea was sending special gas for him to afford the BCs in the early game.
22:11 you can see the vce fixing the carriers, so yeah they can fix it, really nice combo there, terran combos well with either protos or zerg, but zerg with protos is not super amezing, just at covering each other, or attack moving together, not really at making small sinergies
