Miyako (black hair/.guitar) started to play the piano at the age of three and has continued to play it up to her current age (31). She taught herself to play guitar at eighteen and also plays a mean bass, finger style and slap and some drums. Miho the bass player probably leant piano when she was young and besides bass she also plays guitar and drums, Haruna (drummer) leant to play the piano when she was young and switched to drums at around ten years old. She still plays the piano and uses it when she is composing. Asami the singer palys sme piano and studied classical ballet when she was younger. Unlike most US and UK metal bands who came from the street and learnt to play as they gigged, manyJapanese metal bands, male and female, have a solid classical background.
I'm 56, I've been a diehard metalhead, Priestfan, etc since 81. This is THE BAND!! I absolutely adore this band, musically, physically, lyrically, attitude, everything. They are my go to #1...over everyone. Rage for Order/Mindcrime era Queensryche is the epitome of high standards melodic metal for me, and I have Lovebites hanging out right around there as well.
Four of the five are all classically trained pianists, the difference between Miyako and Midori is their style of playing, Miyako is influenced by Moore and Schenker, Midori is influenced by Malmsteen, and Betancourt, Miyako is the soulful feel bluesy lead, and Midori is the speed demon shredder.
No "War" here. UNITY is the theme, the title and what they demonstrate throughout. They collaborate perfectly. They are "Five of a Kind" and they sing about "When Destinies Align". Not competition. UNITY! Your analysis of Midori (left) is inaccurate. The more you watch them you will see that it is the opposite. Miyako (right) remains focused and speaks in interviews as being "nervous". Midori is the consummate "performer" with supreme confidence, including theatrics, physical and facial expressions accompanying her flawless play. Both are virtuosos.
No 'solos' actually, because all guitar parts are played in unison/harmony to emphasize "Unity" & working together. Were you to listen in stereo, as LOVEBITES performed, recorded and intends, you would hear Midori's guitar in your left ear and Miyako's guitar in your right ear, instead of the altered mono-mix you are getting in one ear. Unfortunate that you two cannot find a way to hear LOVEBITES as they work so hard to be heard, sending their raw tracks from Japan to Finland to be mixed/mastered in STEREO. (It is 2021 you know, stereo has been around for 50 years!) This was the last song of the encore, preceded by "Edge of the World" with near segue to "We The United". At some point I encourage listening to them together to get a better understanding of their presentation of these two songs that lyrically bring a clear message of self-empowerment, personal responsibility and unity in love. Now that you have both heard this song, try watching/listening again, individually, and hear it set to STEREO and then tell us if it makes no difference to you. I am now sub'd to hear your reaction to THAT. Also, the drums & cymbals will be spread like you see them being played. The dynamics will be extended. The clarity of each instrument's 'voice' in greater detail.
Yeah, it is pretty stupid to share a pair of ear-buds. It defeats the whole purpose. These dudes can't afford 1 more pair of ear-buds so they can each have a set? Whatever. At least they are helping to spread the word about LOVEBITES. Gotta give them a little credit for doing that much!
@@TheCyberMantis I have heard/read their rap about 'bluetooth' (?) lack of compatibility (?) Still, so many other reaction channels have managed to listen in stereo and put the original stereo sound from LOVEBITES video in their reaction video, it is surprising that these two can't/won't figure it out. My suggestion of listening individually IN STEREO is intended to get them to understand the importance of it. (Are you reading this, "THE NOBODIES REACTS" father OR son?)
Ok, if you haven't seen MIYAKO playing guitar and keys at the same time, is time to see it! Lovebites "burden of time". Just unbelievable that she can be playing cords on guitar and the other hand playing keyboards.

"Lovebites" or "Nemophila" to my ear there is no comparison. Lovebites is a level above in all areas. Although I also like "Nemophila". It shows when you watch the videos of both bands. The technical talent of the Lovebites members is far above, the compositions and arrangements are incredible, and without detailing everything else, and after having gone through the Japanese metal scene, there is nothing better than "Lovebites" in the overall look of the bands. Some bands distinguish themselves with amazing shows thanks to the fact of a large audience and the technical means at their disposal, like Baby Metal for example. It is in this field that Lovebites still has a margin of progression to make. But in terms of musical technicality, I haven't heard anything like them.
Did you know that Midori the ponytailed guitarist started learning piano at her 2 years old and started guitar at her 20. Skill is not how long you play, but talent.....unfortunately...poor me, sob. Miyako the dark haired guitarist is so static, I guess, because she is a type concentrates and dives into what she is doing, and Midori is showman type, she loves to impress herself and entertain the audience. The chemistry of the two totally different guitarists is just perfect and that is one of the reasons to characterize Lovebites special.
@@gatograto I am sure she would have been a great pharmacist. But we prefer her to noodle around on the guitar! And be pretty on stage! And write great songs!

Lovebites, Nemophila, Band-Maid and a dozen more ... it's easy to love 'em all because they're totally different, with one common point: true passion for rock music.
Iam in love from Bolivia Latinoamerica, LOVEBITES, Guitarists Miyako and Midori are both from the city of Osaka, both took piano lessons for years (Midori also learned organ), and both took up the guitar relatively late. Midori went to music school - Musicians Institute Osaka branch, where one of her instructors was the late Mikio Fujioka, lead guitarist of Babymetal's Kami Band - and Miyako is basically self-taught. Miyako made use of a well-known instructional book series, whose title literally translated into English is "Mechanical Training Phrases from Hell", working her way through the entire guitar series. There are versions of these instructional books for bass and drums too, and there's hardly a Japanese musician on those instruments who hasn't studied them.
Asami, has studied ballet in America for two years I think? She definitely has studied ballet somewhere if I am not correct in the place and time and you can tell that by the way she 'carries' herself. Even her arm movements are very graceful. At the beginning of their song called Swan Song, she does nothing more than walk from one side of the stage to the other while the introduction is playing but she has the grace of a swan. In this performance, people often miss out the way Miho, the bass player managers to walk around the stage, walk up and down the stairs to the drum kit while flawlessly playing her bass. Due to her diminutive size, it is even more of an amazing feat. As I think I mentioned before in a previous reaction of yours I have watched, it great to see an American father and son have a happy and normal relationship. Virtually every Hollywood film, no matter what the genre, the son father relationship gets woven into the story line somewhere and it is 99% strained.

LOVEBITES - We The United lyrics:
The silent dawn has been broken
Our fate has now been decided for good
Innocence can never be regained
Blissful ignorance turns into guilt and shame
We must first learn to give and understand
That no one is able to live alone
There is no need to be perfect
Everyone has their own problems and faults
Everything is indispensable,
Every person is worthy and valuable
Don’t give up on your life, fight for what’s right
Live on and keep searching for answers
We shall go forth
Prideful, we stand united
We can create miracles
Always, there is a way
Humans are greedy and selfish
Wanting attention more than the respect
Recognize the pain that others hide
Have the strength to fight even for someone else
People who’ve never made real enemies
Have never stood up for what they believe
We shall go forth
Prideful, we stand united
We can create miracles
Always, there is a way
Always, I will be here
Always, we will be there
