The problem with custom parameters name is that in GA4, when you go in the campaigns, GA4 has segment the default names with yours, the only solution is to make a dynamic custom parameter name, but I don't know if it's possible. is it?
Helpful information, thanks for sharing ! Also, itis refreshing to see that you dont use the annoying Vocal Fry, which is so common this days in digital marketers and influencers.
Great question, autotagging will only add on the Google Click ID (gclid) to the end of the URL. All other parameters you add, whether the UTMs, CRM parameters, or something else, will be kept. They will not be removed.
Is there a URL with universal, unique UTM, where I enter it at the account level and pull the Source, medium, term, device and other information dynamically?
Google does automatic tagging as I know. Campaigns show up in GA as properly tagged. So doing this manual tagging will mess GA auto tagging? That one I think is more informative since it shows campaign names, ad group names instead of ids.
Manual tagging will override the auto tagging. The visit will not be duplicated so you’ll have to make sure all the parameters you want tracked in GA are included in your manual parameters.
I think what Ruslan is trying to ask, is whether enabling auto tagging is an either / or when it comes to setting up the tracking url on account level. 🤔
Yep! Those fields should begin showing up in GA depending on what parameters you assign and what values they're tracking. They should also show up in any CRM you have to help track back leads or sales as well. Thanks!
Hi, can you please explain to me how can I track my lead source as some competitors posting my url on facebook with the wrong info and I'm getting those leads as well, how can i differentiate those leads as I'm running ads only on google?
Hi Bilal, I would encourage you to turn on Auto-Tagging in the Google Ads account. That will apply parameters to differentiate the source/medium for both channels. Hope that helps!
This was what I kept having problems with! Thank you so much for this explanation and the walk through ❤
awesome info thanks! Wish you shared how to actually set it up. But, awesome
Same suggestions

Id like to know if by enabling auto-tagging the remaining of the parameters we currently add to the landing URL are removed.

@@mywebguytaylor yes would like to know if it is needed to do manual work when auto tagging is already there
Awesome! Thanks for the video. I have a question - After applying value track parameters, where I can see the return? In GA?
