"We've got all our switches, lights and knobs to deal with Striker. I mean down here there are literally hundreds of thousands of blinking, beeping and flashing lights... and they're blinking and beeping and flashing, THEY'RE FLASHING AND BEEPING! I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE... THEY'RE BLINKING AND BEEPING AND FLASHING! WHY DOESN'T SOMEBODY PULL THE PLUG!..." (Buck Murdock, Airplane 2) Seriously though, very cool Alpha setup. I could probably go to sleep listing to those sound effects all night.
I liked the way you open that incredibly ordinary door and then set foot on Moonbase Alpha. You have done a wonderful job on this, the ultimate in escapism.
I love this. What a fabulous room referencing one of my favorite old shows. You must be quite a craftsmen to put this together with such loving detail.
I wasn't prepared for what was on the other side of the door! You could film more shows in there! Must be so fun to live a dream like that. REally cool stuff!
Way to go! It looks great, and I bet your friends think it's awesome. I was little when it was on Canadian TV CBC in reruns. Whoever said you "had too much time on their hands" can go get stuffed. It's a beautiful, fully functional sitting room. And the helmet from Moon Zero 2, so cool.
Glad you enjoyed it. The suit was part of a public display for many years, in the 70s &80s, before being sold off. The MZ2 helmet turned up on ebay. Sorry but neither will ever be put up for sale. The wall paneling is made from MDF and Perspex(Plexiglass) and fixs to a timber support frame - the parts can easily be moved or changed. Cheers
This is mental but in a very good way! Please do post more detailed stuff especially that space suit. Maybe give us a bit of commentary about the history!! What a great place to be able to live in!!!
This is fantastic, though only a fan would really appreciate it, others would just find it odd I suspect. Still, I doubt I wold ever leave if I lived there. Now you just need a travel tube and you'll be all set.
Ok somebody wake me up and tell me i dreamt watching this!! This is fantastic stuff. The detail and design is amazing! Professor Bergman would love this and Comissioner Simmons would be wanting to buy the place off you!!! I think i need to break out my DVD boxset again and watch Season One all over again! ;)
In terms of hard-core, to the bone, hyper nerdism, this sets a new standard. The coolest room ever! (which will presumably be free of any nasty female infestation)
widescreen tv same place, has the computor staggered segmented segments with the sequenced lights & those green screens in it, w/length wise side lighting, 2 entry left right passage ways, missing left and right desks -sandras-not there , sofa's instead , just that long segment of alan / paul's desk i guess for stereo etc controls, just freaky ! the same thing lucky guy ,strange to say , but i feel good that set has been replicated , not cheesily either its real deal must be a die hard fan !
actually there is total replica set , 2 story ( for main mission ) on inside of place and out ! , Ive seen a house in nevada that had the main mission and commanders adjorning office. They used plexiglass type sheets inserted into that curvey white moulded frame with long flors. light bulbs behind, the guy had it in the green lighting as the set looked inDeaths other Dominion, has the same white staircase going up to 2nd lookout level with the glass windows the same ,
This is absolutely fabulous! I have been a Space1999 devoted fan since I was 12... Being now a physician, do you think you could make my clinic look like the 'Medical Center'?? Where did you find the props? The lunar costume and helmet? If you ever think of selling, make me know! Thanks for the video.
I have taken everything but the central fireplace down now, just needed the space that it was taking up. Considering that it was just done for a laugh it lasted about 15 years and still looked decent.
damn with all these people liking this style you might think of getting a business going redecorating peoples houses like this ...I know they'd pay....you might have to give Sylvia Anderson a piece of the action.

Fantastique vraiment très beau et bien réussi. La base lunaire alpha était magnififique quel beau souvenir
That looks really fantastic!
Well done and thanks for letting us see it.
Absolutly amazing, so wish I had a room like this.
Great! I used to dream about all this when I was young. I always thought the Alpha computer systems looked a lot like PDP mini computers!
You did a really GREAT job!!! Even down to the sound effect.
I am so envious! How awesome!
You, sir, have made a nerd envious today.

This is so cool - I love it. Please can you do some videos showing how you made the wall panels etc. I'd love to do my own.

Nicely done - love it.
Absolutely marvellous, you're a huge fan of that offbreathing serie I watched as a kid (season 1 plz) and I liked Countach too ..

Very cool! LOVE it!
flawless
Glad that you liked it. The sounds are looped sections, put on a cassette tape that just plays through the stereo, I can do you a copy if you want.
In terms of hard-core, to the bone, hyper nerdism, this sets a new standard.

Incredible , When can I move in :)
It's weird but in a good way and like it a lot. Have you been able to convert more of the house or did the wife make you stop?
WOW !!!!!
this inspired me to make a NASA themed room.. Now to find a replica Apollo Space Suit

+procyonbabe Might want to replace that mock Victorian gas fire with radiators. Unless this is a deliberate steampunk ffusion :)
This is absolutely fabulous! I have been a Space1999 devoted fan since I was 12...

John Madden. John Madden John Ma- oh..wrong Moonbase Alpha?
Awesome, Space 1999 needed more gas fires, joking aside, it looks great.
@mj5332 I like your idea for a doctor's office decor.
Hey! Wait a minute...aren't you David Sisson?... he´s an excellent model maker (and a "real" one)
What’s your missus think now Dave?
I have taken everything but the central fireplace down now, just needed the space that it was taking up. Considering that it was just done for a laugh it lasted about 15 years and still looked decent.
HOT
