Because I have been conversant with Boolean algebra since eighties I use FBD and UDF. It is easier for me to outline the hole system while there are 20 different kind of inputs and 16 outputs to control devices and machines in varying circumstances.

Yup, I prefer FBD too. The layout is a lot easier to trace if there are issues as well

I agree FBDs are easier. But ladder is fun. It's like a DIY process. Ladder must b limited to controllers only. Scada systems yes FBD is d way to go.

Some Ppl must work in an automation environment before commenting.
It's like saying forget the logic gate tables AND OR NOT and directly jump to ready made Function blocks.
