It is a lovely place, and yes it was a lovely morning! Many boaters stop cruising in winter, and some leave their boats in marinas through the colder months. But I find that there are some bright winter mornings when, although it is quite cold, it is every bit as as lovely as any summer morning. In fact, maybe even more so because during winter, there is more of a sense of peace on the waterways, after the hectic months of summer. I've said this before, but winter is actually my favourite time to be on the boat. Those longer hours of darkness are not great, that must be said, but the canals in winter can at times be an extraordinarily beautiful place to live.
