I think the Marvel Studios' take would involve some Oz effects. He only has to look like a giant head once to please the fans; just look at what they did to The Mandarin in Iron Man 3.
+Daniel Ryan If the MCU universe include MODOK, It could be made plausible by giving him a normal sized head *but* with a large mechanical attachment/permanent helmet around his head which contains bits wired to his brain which is attached to the floating chair he is in.
+i0rpheus Zola was already a character in the comics, who was also similar to Modok. He was a old Hydra guy in a computer, with a robot body. His face was in his chest, I think.
Tell me about it this freak show carries a serious wallop of power. He's a telepath, fires laser intellectual genius and can control metal meaning Iron Man is in trouble with this thing ( Sorry I can't say guy cause that would be weird)
Stan Lee wrote him as this amazing flawed character, always being undone by his inflated ego and thin skin. Over the years he’s been portrayed as both a menace and a joke and I think our show is much more interested in exploring him as a human being. A human being who’s also a Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing! At the end of the day M.O.D.O.K. is a giant-headed, petulant, insecure, egomaniac with zero social skills. - Patton Oswalt
The fun thing about MODOK is that noone takes him seriously yet they also can't stop using him, his look is probably just that iconic. So he actually makes a great recurring B-list baddie.
I like the meaning of modok's name Mechanise Organism Designed Only for Killing M.O.D.O.K hes also one of the greates villian with avengers level of threat
I’ve always thought MODOK had one of the coolest character designs in comic book history. I don’t think he’s ever been written to his full potential though.
If done right MODOK would be the opposite of the corny villian. He's a test subject that has become so grotesque and reality-warping powerful that the facility which created him started bending to his will. Could you imagine walking into the room of a MODOK who scared his creators into serving him... as they sheepishly do his bidding while completely understanding what he is, how he came to be and what could've been done to stop him... There's also the angle that he's been corrupted so there's suffering, hatred, redemption, revenge, love (for science)... there's a lot of potential for emotion with the character as well. I'm picturing right now a seriously tortured MODOK that unnerves the viewer, someone filled with emotions but also a complete lack of humanity. I kind of wish that was real as I think about it right now. It would most likely be one of the most unsettling environments you could imagine.
If MODOK appeared in the MCU, they should make him look somewhat intimidating, like decaying features, or something like that. In short, an appearance that would make him be taken seriously.
Modok is a character I'd like to see in the MCU. Not an Avengers move per se, but I think he'd work well in a solo hero movie or as an appearance in one of the tv/netflix series.
Now I never knew that his actual name was George Tarleton. Also the version that I'm familiar with in terms of origin, I believe he actually went with MODOC before MODOK. The C being for conquest and the K then evolving into killing.
Ultimately, trying to figure out who Dinklage is playing is difficult because we know so little about Infinity War. But if he is, that would be… interesting.
Given all the tech they have, why not just give him a giant robotic body to match the size of his head? It'd seem a lot more useful and practical than the wimpy limbs he's got now.
I could totally see that with a giant robot body wrecking havoc and when his robot body is almost destroyed he can eject from his robot head and go back to the chair flying thing
BikouTenma that would defeat the purpose of the character. MODOK represents what someone would be like if they depended on intellectual powers alone. His weakness is the human elements which include not only limbs, but a social aspect as well. Comic book characters are not created to be the best possible villains/heroes, all of them have major flaws!
Can't wait to see this origin in Marvel's Avengers game with MODOK as the main villain and it would also explain why Cap was presumed dead in the game because of his jealousy towards him so he must of captured him or something to get him out of the picture cause Cap is the heart of the Avengers
3:56 I recently watched an episode of that Iron Man cartoon from the 90s featuring MODOK. That was the first time ever that I felt such sympathy for MODOK in my life! Beautiful origin story.
I originally thought Arnim Zola as he appeared in The Winter Soldier was M.O.D.O.K. But upon further research, I came to the conclusion that I was wrong.
How MODOK was created varies in series, games and movies. In the past series, he was created by AIM. In Marvel's Avengers game, he is George Tarleton, an Inhuman scientist given Captain America's blood to survive and become strong. In Ant-man and the Wasp Quantumania, he is Darren Cross after his suit's mechanism got trashed and his body physique became disproportionate while going subatomic, and found by Kang's loyalists to become the "ultimate weapon".
MODOK was the butt of every single joke back in the Iron Man animated series of the 90s. Seriously, and the fact that Jim Cummings was using his funny voice to play him only made things even more hilarious!
The greatest media interpretation of M.O.D.O.K outside of the comic books will always be the Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes version. Avengers EMH also features the greatest media interpretations of Ant-Man (Both the Hank Pym & Scott Lang versions)Giant Man, YellowJacket, The Wasp, Whirlwind, & especially Ultron.
Umm, Maybe I Am Again Showing My Age, But MODOK created the Cosmic Cube! Look at Namor #49 I believe. Create a Quantum Force Field for at least 48 hours and the power of a Beyonder will enter our realm. That power, is millions of times greater than our universe. But I will say, his goal wasn’t to destroy everything, he was just curious....
They said GotG 2 will feature a villian that's always in a chair . And it's either MODAK or Thanos but I doubt they'll use Thanos this early And hearing the funny things Rocket & Starlord will say about MODAK I hope he's in it
I’d love to see him in the MCU, but I think maybe a different look would suit him. I understand a man with a large head isn’t too crazy when you consider a giant green raging monster and a purple titan from outer space, and not to mention a talking tree. But idk how well it would translate onto the big screen.
@@ricardoortiz4870 The fact that you commented this 4 years after my initial comment is hilarious. Especially since it's right before Quantumania. This made me chuckle
