Thank you so much! I didn't purchase my babylock from you😢 But if ever I purchase another one I would purchase from you! You helped me so much with this tutorial I'm saving as a reference! Thank you ❤ No one has hardly anything videos on the presto 2😢 I've been learning by trial and errors 😢
Jan you did an EXCELLENT presentation for the Presto II. I bought my Presto in 2020 and this is the best video I have seen for this machine. I said I would never do a buttonhole or zipper and now I can't wait to try the buttonhole feature. Your video also explained the bobbin binding and how if you miss the step of having the thread under and around the button, that your thread will wrap around underneath the bobbin. I made that mistake and you showed me how that happened. I can't wait to watch other videos you have. I have since purchased the Brother PQ1500 straight stitch machine as I was using my Presto beyond it's capabilities with super thick batting and stabilizer to make cat beds (think inverted sewing machine cover). Thank you again for all your tips during the video. I learned more in this one video than watching several videos. Thank you, thank you, thank you. :)
Jan, THANK YOU for the Presto II RUclips tutorial. It is fantastic! I can't say enough good about how beneficial your instructions are. Your presentation is well organized and full of useful hints. I gained so much knowledge out of your lesson. Thanks to you I feel more confortable in confident in my ability to use my Presto II. Thank you for taking the time to plan and deliver such a wonderful RUclips lesson. Best regards.
I bought this machine a few months ago and didn't get much instruction on how to use it, so I read the manual and searched RUclips for information. But since I'm a self-taught sewist ( only a few years ago), I'm not very skilled and I get antsy if I don't get it right and frustrated when it comes out wrong. Anyway, I was determined that this machine was not for me and I even thought about selling it. Until I found this video. Thank you as I bow down on my knees for this video, you have made me fall in love with my machine all over again. Too bad your store is not near me. Much success.
So far your explanation regarding this machine is really clear. Thank you for mentioning the "click" for winding your bobbin. I am shopping around for a new machine and this one is in the running. I will be attending a Craft, Sewing and Quilting fair soon...I am hoping to purchase it at that time and crossing my fingers for a great price! Thank you for your great video. I have subscribed to your channel and l liked this video! God Bless!
I just today found your tutorial on the Presto 2 - I purchased one a month or so ago in another state at a very reputable dealer knowing I couldn’t attend their classes. So I’m learning as,I h as I can through technology. Your video is excellent and I has my book reading right a,one with you. The little tips are really great as most sewing machine booklets don’t do that. I have taken it out of the box! But I haven’t even taken all the blue tape, etc. off the machine - it’s now done and set up temporarily. I’m a quilter (don’t sew clothing of any kind!) so making sure I have the ability to do a perfect 1/4” seam and also a slight 1/4” seam is most important. I do prefer using a special foot for that (which I already have as I also own an Ellisimo Gold 2 which still scares me 😳). Thanks again for a super informative video.
Hi Patricia! Yes, the Presto II would be the closest to the Elizabeth in specs I think. Yours is actually a couple generations older now. Still a good machine though!
I just ordered this Machine and LOVE your video!! Quick question How big can you make the letters and can you do more then 3 letters? Like can you do a whole name ?
Glad you enjoyed the video! The letters are preset at about 1/2", so that's as big as they go. Yes, you can do whole sentences if you want. I make quilt labels with the letters.
After watching this video and the manual it started working right! My fabric wasn’t feeding so I rethreaded the machine and push a button in the back for feed dogs
There is actually a piecing stitch that I use most of the time. It is in the first menu on the lid. Stitch #25. This stitch moves the needle toward the right and you run your fabric along the right edge of the J foot for a 1/4" seam.
@@sewalongwithjan Yes, class 15-SA-158. However run of the mill class 15 do not work well in my old BLCC and do not work very well in my new BL Presto II because of welding of the two halves.
That is true. I would recommend purchasing the class 15 bobbins at your local dealer so you are assured that the are what you need. We also carry them on shieldssewingcenter.com if you need to purchase online

That was very helpful! Thank you! I’m excited to make some button holes now! 😉
Glad you enjoyed the video Angie!
I learned so much with you tutorial Jan thank you very much.
You are very welcome Judy!
Is there a special size bobbin for the Presto 2 machine
Yes a class 15 bobbin. We have them on shieldssewingcenter.com
Table top frame I also order w the baby presto 2
A table top frame? You mean something like a Grace Cutie frame?
Thank you. Great tutorial.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Best tutorial!!!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I use an exacto knife for opening button holes. Mine are usually in denim so seam rippers not ideal..
Bet that works well for the denim! I'm a little clumsy with things like that, so I'd have to be careful.
@@sewalongwithjan 😂 me too! Always cut away from you and sharper the better 😉
@@SaltMinerOU812 Great advise!
Is this machine good for quilting with the top frame. Since I order them together
It should work fine. The throat space is a little small. What frame did you order?
Do you have a showing of the Soprano? I am considering which new machine to buy..
I haven't shown the Soprano. They have been slow coming in this summer. They have now arrived, so hope to soon.
I have an Elizabeth, is the Presto the newer version?
Hi Patricia! Yes, the Presto II would be the closest to the Elizabeth in specs I think. Yours is actually a couple generations older now. Still a good machine though!
I just order my presto 2 machine need to know how to use it ect
Enjoy you new Presto II. Hope this video helps you to learn about it.

Thanks for this video but how do u troubleshooting my machine
Hi Brittany! Could you be more specific? I would be happy to help you.
After watching this video and the manual it started working right! My fabric wasn’t feeding so I rethreaded the machine and push a button in the back for feed dogs
That's awesome!
Does not the needle on the left be for the quarter inch as in quilting?
There is actually a piecing stitch that I use most of the time. It is in the first menu on the lid. Stitch #25. This stitch moves the needle toward the right and you run your fabric along the right edge of the J foot for a 1/4" seam.
Does it do big buttons.? I can't manage tiny buttons like that.
The button hole attachment works with up to about a 1 inch button
What determines a Baby Lock bobbin?
Bobbins for the Brother and Baby Lock machines are class 15 plastic bobbins.
