I always appreciate how Trump shows his excitement for a new deck and doesn't really spoil how it plays out in the intro. If the deck works, awesome, if not, then at least you pulled me in with that pretty smile of yours.
@@Morha2el He played a Mecha'Thun Control Warrior yesterday as well, and his conclusion after doing poorly was "put card draw in Mecha'Thun". All I'm saying is he doesn't listen to himself.
Look at it this way: you obviously don't want to take deckbuilding advice from someone who put no draw in cthun, so Trump's making a good call by not taking his own advice.
I feel like he does similar things every expansions. Shits on a deck then when he plays it and realizes it was actually good he pretends like its some new tech or something.
If you actually NEED mecha'thun to go off fairly early and your entire win condition is that, due to other OTKs or whatever, then shield slam is useless, practically speaking. If it's an extra tech vs mirror and similar. It's just that. A single tech card, in an already working deck. You can even just rush it, if it's dead. Running the entire combo costs 4-5 cards instead of 1.
@@stevenglikin3219 You'd only want to have Mechathun as a win condition against other control warriors. Against other control warriors you'll probably have around 30 armor when you hit fatigue. So even though on a surface level it _sounds_ like his reasoning was sensible. If Trump had actually thought about it a little bit more in depth when he made the deck he would have realised that it's almost impossible to _not_ have 10 armor in the control matchups by the time you empty out your deck and hand. He put mechathun in a deck to counter control warrior, but his choice to not kill it through shield slam goes against the reality that shield slam basically always does 20+ damage in a control warrior mirror match. Especially since you can use your answers more aggressively than the other warrior who tries to squeeze max value out of everything. Mechathun is your win condition rather than life total or card advantage. So throughout the control matchup you'll be far more inclined to clear minions and play your own, leading to you having less cards but more armor. Both of which synergise far better with the Shield Slam route than the Malygos one. You could argue whether or not he was making fun of the shield slam version or just giving his opinion for why he thought the Malygos version was better. But at the end of the day I don't think you can realistically get around the fact that his first take on this deck was simply inferior to this one. So him criticising/mocking the Shield Slam version in the previous video _was_ a mistake on his part and I don't think it's a bad thing to point that out. That doesn't mean that we all have to hate on him over it now, but I do think it is healthy to point out mistakes when they happen and try to learn from them

Wait so if the combo is shield slam Mechathun what if i don't have 10 armor in the moment i drop mechathun? And how can i be sure to have 10 armor? even keeping both the shieldblocks as last cards the opponent can easily bring me under 10 armor and deny my combo.

10:43 you should keep Eternium Rover. With that list you'll need a one-drop to trigger Execute, and if you don't run Execute you'll need Eternium Rover to gain enough armor for Shield Slam. Additionally, you can choose to run a single Big Game Hunter.

I am really bad at making decks and thought if anyone could figure out a way to make it half decent you can!!! Did anyone think about double galv, omega devastor and cthun? Like u dont have to save shieldslam, if u dont have armor its useless anyway and u can still pull off the combo? I dont have mecha chtun so i cant try it
Maybe put 2 Acolyte instead of Omega Assembly in it, to fasten up the card draw. I mean it's not a drawback if you have some carddraws in a Mechathun deck...
I might be out of the loop, but why didn’t town crier draw omega devastator? I seem to recall the dev team showing off that you could draw any mech with it after Dr. Boom is out, and that the woodcutter’s axe would buff them. Did that change at some point?
Hero Dr. Boom, Omega Devastator and Dyno are straight up unfair. 22:36 You aren't playing Nomi because it and Meca'thun both need you to draw your whole deck, you run the shield slam anyway and Meca'thun wins you the game immediately, whereas with Nomi you're SOL if your opponent has a boardclear, like in the mirror (which is what you're trying to tech for). Meca'thun also is a better play early because of the rush with Boom against matchups where it's not your win condition. Galvanizer is a decent-ish card anyway with the amount of mechs you get. The only downside for Mecha'thun is needing to empty hand and board before playing it.
Since enemies surrender when they see you have last two cards in hand, how about an upgrade to this deck: DON'T run a Mecha'thun, and have a card you can use in aggro matchups that you'll just keep with Shield Slam against control to make them surrender.
