Lara Fabian was a huge thing in Brazil (back to 1999) when a song called Love by Grace was extensively played on the radio. I bought her CD at that time and I listened to it intensively for the months to come. I now see people reacting to her songs that I used to listen a lot 20 years ago and that brings me so good memories. It also reminds me of how old I am now hahaha.

I think we have to thank Dimash for making many people aware of Lara. His songs alerted people to the writer and hence onto listening to this wonderful talent. She is simply incomparable. Her voice is as smooth as honey on a sore throat! I'm still drooling at Ti Amo Cosi and the way that she performed in that song. I really don't think that any female singer comes anywhere near her. The fact that she writes a lot of her songs just amplifies her wonderful ability. Great reaction to a beautiful song and a talent that should be a worldwide household name.

I just don't understand why this concert isn't available. I believe it was on VHS years ago, but I'd dearly love to have it on DVD. In different ways I love Lara as much as I love Floor: my two favourite singers in the world, male or female.
The dvd is available from The Music Shop and More. Google it. I got a copy last week. I had to have it because I think in this concert, she was at her absolute prime and her most gorgeous.

I discovered Lara on utube & after listening to a few reactions to her the reactors were saying she must be good because Dimash is a big fan of her, so I then looked for Dimash & loved him too. I tell students that when you sing a song, you need to listen to and understand the words and the story you are telling. Otherwise it is just music. Lara is a Master class on this subject. Just perfect.
When i first discovered her in 2000 she for me has been kind like a Celine 2.0. Not only that both are from Canada but her style has also a lot in common and Lara just put something on top of that. But for whatever reason she didn't got the recognition that Celine got. The only really "hit" i remember was "I will love again" and that was it as far as i remember. Btw. her first album was already from 1991, but i only have "Carpe Diem" from 1994 as oldest one. And the older albums were also all in french beside the song "Bridge of hope". This is why Beldin... She confessed recently in Canada where she lives, the reason why she didn't make it in the USA. At the time, she and Céline Dion had the same music company (Sony), Céline was already a star in America, when Lara only was a rookie. Lara revealed that Céline Dion's team (not Céline herself) did everything to sink her/sabotage her career as Lara had the whole package to also become an immense star in America, and worldwide. The music company didn't want another huge voice to compete with Céline's, and instead of supporting her, of supporting her style of music/songs (such as 'Love by Grace'), Lara was forced to leave it for another company and forced to change her professional team. As a result, it was all over, the other company formated Lara to make her sing pop songs such as "I will love again", a style of music/songs for which Lara and her stunning voice weren't made for, they also wanted her to lose 20 kilos and asked her to go blond. Such a waste, as she should be as famous and successful as Céline or Mariah Carey today. :(

She has a warm buttery voice and such control! The personal emotion is just amazing. Such a shame she's not as recognized like Celine and Mariah, her main competitors at the time. I feel she has a better voice, true emotions and a fantastic stage presence. She is actually better in person than her recordings, which is part of the reason she doesn't sell as many records and have the awards others do. She "feeds" off of the audience and gives one helluva performance.
They're all amazing singers!!! When you have voices like theirs it's just a matter of personal preference. I love both Lara & Celine, They both have the innate ability to make you feel every word they're singing weather you understand the language or not.

Very emotional, amazing performances, Alicja is 73 now and she is a Polish legend, such a strong, huge voice. And most of the songs wrote by one of the greatest Polish composers nowadys - Włodzimierz Korcz, who’s pianist and conductor of the Orchestra, they work together for 46 years now.
I noticed you reacted to her masterpiece that is Je Suis Malade live from "With Lara with Love". And I know you reacted to the official video of Adagio but you have to actually react to her singing Adagio live from the same concert and also Caruso live again from the same concert. She's incredible on both and they eclipse her official recording of those songs by a mile.

I tell students that when you sing a song, you need to listen to and understand the words and the story you are telling. Otherwise it is just music. Lara is a Master class on this subject. Just perfect.
When i first discovered her in 2000 she for me has been kind like a Celine 2.0. Not only that both are from Canada but her style has also a lot in common and Lara just put something on top of that.
But for whatever reason she didn't got the recognition that Celine got. The only really "hit" i remember was "I will love again" and that was it as far as i remember.
Btw. her first album was already from 1991, but i only have "Carpe Diem" from 1994 as oldest one. And the older albums were also all in french beside the song "Bridge of hope".

She confessed recently in Canada where she lives, the reason why she didn't make it in the USA. At the time, she and Céline Dion had the same music company (Sony), Céline was already a star in America, when Lara only was a rookie. Lara revealed that Céline Dion's team (not Céline herself) did everything to sink her/sabotage her career as Lara had the whole package to also become an immense star in America, and worldwide. The music company didn't want another huge voice to compete with Céline's, and instead of supporting her, of supporting her style of music/songs (such as 'Love by Grace'), Lara was forced to leave it for another company and forced to change her professional team. As a result, it was all over, the other company formated Lara to make her sing pop songs such as "I will love again", a style of music/songs for which Lara and her stunning voice weren't made for, they also wanted her to lose 20 kilos and asked her to go blond. Such a waste, as she should be as famous and successful as Céline or Mariah Carey today. :(
@@jeremie2020 Thanks. I must say i don't really care about the american market since i know there happen really stupid things, but in the end the whole thing also seemed to have impact on the european market in her case, and thats really sad.

She has a warm buttery voice and such control! The personal emotion is just amazing. Such a shame she's not as recognized like Celine and Mariah, her main competitors at the time. I feel she has a better voice, true emotions and a fantastic stage presence. She is actually better in person than her recordings, which is part of the reason she doesn't sell as many records and have the awards others do. She "feeds" off of the audience and gives one helluva performance.
They're all amazing singers!!! When you have voices like theirs it's just a matter of personal preference. I love both Lara & Celine, They both have the innate ability to make you feel every word they're singing weather you understand the language or not.
