In my opinion they really did a good job, man its a cover thats intention isn't to sound the same like the original, and they combined the great fear factory songwriting with their own style
Simple minded fools be raging at this cover, don't get missunderstood, I am a fear factory fan, but there is no need to complain about the cover, because both bands have their own style and play different genres.
+NEXCUSX They did that a couple of years ago in LA, according to an interview with Burt. And they're going to perform at Epic Metal Fest (organised by Epica) on 22nd november 2015 in Holland to play Demanufacture completely. Maybe Simone will help him with the clean vocals in Replica.. he sometimes needs a little bit of help. And that from a big FF fan. Love Genexus.
I actually heard this version before I knew who Fear Factory was, and now they're one of my favorite bands. I saw them last month with Orbit Culture and Machine Head.
EXCELLENT cover. One of the most important things with covers in my opinion, and its something you see less ans less, is the musicians (like the guitar, bass, drums etc) learn how to play it accurately, as it was originally written. This is a perfect example, the music was flawless. Vocals... I really liked it. I think she owned it really well, and to be able to own something that Burton does is hard to do, because he is an amazing singer. Put it this way, its made me curious now to look at more of Epica's stuff.
I don't know what everyone is bithcing about they made the cover in their own symphonic way plus the mix between heavy vocals and clean vocal actually made it better at least for me
because cultist fans of the band who listen to Fear Factory religiously, are butt hurt, because the feel it ruins there sacred bands song. not even joking, most of these fanatics will have shrines dedicated to the band along with multiple copies of the same CD but in a different format.
damn better then I expected. together with her pictures its not bad :). but seriously didn't expect so much of it. her voice is actually pretty impressive. and that's really surprising for me to say, because I normally can't stand any gothic
Fair play... I haven't. I listened to some of their initial offerings and didn't impress me much, especially with their relationship with Kamelot. I do owe them a fair listen. ^_^
To all the people who say the original is "obviously better" Music is art, and like all art it is subject to taste. If you don't like it, say you don't like it. Saying it sucks is not accurate, because there's always people who have different tastes. Take me for example. I've heard both versions, and I was bored by Fear Factory's original performance, while I thoroughly enjoy this cover.
LMAO Slipknot or Fear Factory can never be as high-quality bands as Epica. They can only succeed commercially. If you think these bands are better than Epica, fuck off, you ignorant twat.🖕🏻
Whoaaa... I didn't see that coming 🔊 nice upload and who's the one doing the background screams? P.s side note both the singer and the girl who up loaded this are hot 😜
Fear Factory are my favorite metal band of all time and, while I am not a fan, I think Epica are a pretty cool band for what they do. Unfortunately I don't think FF's industrial style suited them as much as they hoped to. Even though Simmone is a great singer she sounds off here. The brutal vocals are horribole. Still, I am happy they gave it a shot and I don't think the cover deserves the hate it gets. Chill out people, it's music, not war.
A female vocalist really changes the context of the song... In the FF version, he is singing about becoming the rapist that caused his conception (replicating his father). With a female vocalist, she is singing about being a rape victim (replicating her mother). This creeps me the fuck out to listen to.
Interesting interpretation of the lyrics. I’ve always heard it sung from the POV of someone who feels their own existence is invalid because they are a product of rape.
Not bad ... but may have been better with growls on verses and mixes on transition imho (I like the choruschorus) , to respect both Burton's parts and Epica's gimmicks Makes me prefer Lacuna's Depeche Mode or Arch Enemy's Tears for Fears covers
You don't respect Fear Factory then.... they did this the right way in 1994... . this band butchered it with today's technology. Don't get me wrong she sounds good. But they butchered this classic
Making a cover is all about paying respect to a band. How did the band, who's main influence is classical music, ruined the industrial metal band, who's all about technology, with today's technology? Not mentioning that this cover is more than ten years old, making it hardly ''today's'' technology.
The cover itself is okay (apart from the growls, they should have get someone better to do it). What makes it bad the production. But kudos for doing such a cover
One thing is to say "i prefer this music much more than the original", but claiming "this is much better than the original" is plain ignorance. Educate yourself. This song was created in 1995, that's 17 years ago, there's no way epica could ever come out with such a power track like this one. I enjoy this version very much, but the comparison you just made isnt much different from the ones that claim that Bieber is better than Queen.
Okay, since its unfair to rate and comment on bands u dont like, I guess there's an exception to it when it's one of your favourite songs. This cover is actually pretty cool. But man, the sync. vocals and those growls are fucking awful. The CHORUS is beautiful and so is the keyboard support. I will definitely check out this band more.
In my opinion they really did a good job, man its a cover thats intention isn't to sound the same like the original, and they combined the great fear factory songwriting with their own style
I agree! This is an excellent rendition. It's unique however upholds all the key mixing decisions and instrumentation.
With a female singing, it sounds more personal.
Simone kills it in the vocals!! WOOOOW!! Awesome cover
No way as aggressive as Fear Factory..
But I have to admit, the vocalist really owns the chorus on this version, sick
Agreed
There's only one Fear Factory. Epica did a nice cover.
She looks like Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Beautiful gal
Looked*
what's your problem? cover is fucking epic!
Not sure what everyone is complaining about this cover is pretty damn good.
Simple minded fools be raging at this cover, don't get missunderstood, I am a fear factory fan, but there is no need to complain about the cover, because both bands have their own style and play different genres.
because people hate epica for no fucking reason
Imagine if they had Burton C Bell doing the heavy vocals that would be an awesome duet :)
***** man you suck at trolling.
Yeah man! i would like that too!
Imagine if they had Burton on vocals and the rest of the FF band doing the instruments. It would sound perfect, just like FF! 🤣
@@CheezWhiz360 not if it was a duet #failedtoller
Love it great mix and production and most of all love the fusion between the metal and the industrial vibe
Amazing
Killer voice.
Ultra talented dream team, you really did an immense cover.tons of congrats!!!!!!!!!
Love it. It's awesome!
I’m shocked by how well the chorus goes with her vocals. I got goosebumps & that almost never happens. Impressive.
Wow...this is better than I expected
FF is my favorite band and I like this cover
Epica's songs are EPIC!
Amazing great work.really a great cover.
Este cover es DEMASIADO excelente. Gracias Saraí ^_^ !
i love this version, unbelievable! \m/
the chorus is the best part of the cover
Holy crap her singing the chorus...haunting
I just did that... Most amazing thing I've heard in my life!
I actually heard this version before I knew who Fear Factory was, and now they're one of my favorite bands. I saw them last month with Orbit Culture and Machine Head.
@LizethBaal
a mi tambien me parece exelente
me gusto escuchar a epica hacer algo un poco diferente
saludos hasta colombia Rocks
2:34 arrepia a alma! ♥️♥️♥️
Great cover & love the vocals!

AMAZING!
From a devout Fear Factory fan, Epica's singer gives Burton a run for his money in the chorus though!
Only powerhouse bands like Epica can pull off Fear Factory covers.
This is the best version! Her voice just completes it.
Ryder Kick! No. Sit down, please.
Simone Simmons is the lady of metal!
Fucking great version guys!!
Cool!!
Muito bom 👏
Very Nice!🤓
I don't know what everyone is bithcing about they made the cover in their own symphonic way plus the mix between heavy vocals and clean vocal actually made it better at least for me

she might be the second most amazing woman ever
i love the original, but i like this one a lot :)
Play the original and this cover and the same time and prepare for a scary amount of epicness.
Muy bueno
damn better then I expected. together with her pictures its not bad :). but seriously didn't expect so much of it. her voice is actually pretty impressive. and that's really surprising for me to say, because I normally can't stand any gothic
no no noooooo puede ser q idola
A female singing this makes it sound more personal, heart felt.
amo a esta chica y amo este tema demasiados efectos en la voz d ese angel
The last picture is so awesome. lol
it's aight
Fair play... I haven't. I listened to some of their initial offerings and didn't impress me much, especially with their relationship with Kamelot.
I do owe them a fair listen. ^_^
Better than the original version :D
Khorne Sith No. Please sit down.
Nope. Still good enough though.
me quedo con la original de FF, pero eso sí, la nena de Epica es una auténtica belleza^^
Simone se luce excelente
actually it's better than the original

There will never be a band like fear factory or slipknot 👊
LMAO Slipknot or Fear Factory can never be as high-quality bands as Epica. They can only succeed commercially. If you think these bands are better than Epica, fuck off, you ignorant twat.🖕🏻

Whoaaa... I didn't see that coming 🔊 nice upload and who's the one doing the background screams?
P.s side note both the singer and the girl who up loaded this are hot 😜
Mark Jansen is the grunter, guitarist, leader and composer of Epica.
@psyniac Guess "The Rest" is too much for your Soul.
Original is better obviously
but i still love this cover, this band deserves kudos for the awesome cover
muy bueno...
Power woman...☆
caralhoooooooooooooooooooooooo
Πόσο θεά.....
Oh no.
Totally agree with you on the Lacuna Coil bit. The vocals on this track are atrocious (and that's being polite)
MOTHERFUCKING EPICA IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!

The harsh vocals are very At The Gates sounding which is fine.
I don't mind the cover, its ok. My personal opinion they should've seen if Burton Bell would've done a duet with her :)
A female vocalist really changes the context of the song... In the FF version, he is singing about becoming the rapist that caused his conception (replicating his father). With a female vocalist, she is singing about being a rape victim (replicating her mother). This creeps me the fuck out to listen to.
"becoming the rapist that caused his conception?" the fuck did you get that from? rape is just a metaphor, hes not actually talking about raping
Interesting interpretation of the lyrics. I’ve always heard it sung from the POV of someone who feels their own existence is invalid because they are a product of rape.
better than the original
I'm a true Metal Head! And, that's a great cover!🤓🍻
My only complaint is it didn’t start off with “HUH” 🤣
I'm so winded (Chino Moreno) deftones |n|
I like the chorus vocals, and that is surprising because I usually hate female clean vocals in metal bands. (nightwish, evanescence, etc).
Does Simone usually sing her vocal melodies like this? Does she write`em in Epica?
Esta bien el cover, pero pues me quedo con la de FF :3
not as sheer brutal or heavy as the original
Thanks, now i can understand the lyrics
Not bad ... but may have been better with growls on verses and mixes on transition imho (I like the choruschorus) , to respect both Burton's parts and Epica's gimmicks
Makes me prefer Lacuna's Depeche Mode or Arch Enemy's Tears for Fears covers
I wish I hadn't listened that.
Damn! It's 50-50 i guess...
Whopper cover
@mrnewton86 i was going to give you the thumbs down but then you said OWNS THE CHORUS, and thats a thumbs up... so i dunno what to do xD
Not bad. I still prefer the original, but this isn't bad.
I like this so much more than the original. I don't get the hate that it is getting. It's almost sad.
You don't respect Fear Factory then.... they did this the right way in 1994... . this band butchered it with today's technology. Don't get me wrong she sounds good. But they butchered this classic
JLOVE Bannigan that might be true. This was the first version that I heard so that could be why I don't like the original.
lol
Making a cover is all about paying respect to a band. How did the band, who's main influence is classical music, ruined the industrial metal band, who's all about technology, with today's technology? Not mentioning that this cover is more than ten years old, making it hardly ''today's'' technology.
In my opinion it 's awlfull!😖
The cover itself is okay (apart from the growls, they should have get someone better to do it). What makes it bad the production. But kudos for doing such a cover
deadasfak The growls are done by Mark Jansen, the best in the biz. The mixing isn't too great though.
Their growler is weak...
Aside from this it's a very very good cover. (Though nothing ever beats the original of course)
Its interesting as covers go, but I just don't her vocals work on the chorus.
the growling sucks but for the rest its bloody good!!
Cagaron la canción de Fear Factory definitivamente!!!!
Khe? O.o
One thing is to say "i prefer this music much more than the original", but claiming "this is much better than the original" is plain ignorance. Educate yourself.

the opera chourus actually goes
@psyniac ;) MA
I never understood why they did this...
Metal Maniac how about because it's badass
Because they liked the song ?
I guess you don't understand many things in life.
Instrumentals are extremely faithful to the original. Vocals aren't so hot.
@LizethBaal es distinta a la original, pero mejor.... tampoco te pases
instrumentation isn't too bad. Vox and production are abysmal. Could have been a decent cover
Epica is amazing symphonic metal band, but this song is not in their style. It belongs only to FF!
